The worse bank for business in the UK, you send any sort of money on the first few days then they put your account on hold and then no one will respond to you for days. I would NOT recommend at all. I’ve been banking with these punks for a week and already have problems!

Typical bite and switch
Started great with a very decent app and reporting. Then about a year later they ‘improved their service’ by unilaterally ‘changing the way they charge’. Typical bite and switch. The app is still decent but the ethos and contractual respect definitely corporate and self-serving. Exactly the reason I stopped using their biggest competitors, and the reason I am moving on again now.
Charges transaction fees
They charge transaction fees while the competition doesn’t - this isn’t America. If you’re using these guys you’re just being complacent. Just use CapitalOnTap.
Tide mobile business banking
I have recently moved to tide with my business banking and have found it has absolutely everything I need and also covers all aspects of bookkeeping and paperwork needs. My life just got a whole lot easier Glad to be part of it.
DO NOT USE
They will put your account under review with no notice and block you from sending or receiving payments essentially freezing your accounts. When you ask for an update you get the same generic response. My advice is if you’re a medium to large enterprise stay well away from Tide banking. If I read the reviews before opening the account I would have never started with Tide.

Stuff Can only open account with a passport and not a provisional driving license which is all I have. Don’t have passport either.

Brilliant app but with the latest update signing in takes forever or doesn’t work at all.

Invoice limit
Whoever thought it was a good idea to put a monthly limit on invoices is insane. It also doesn’t let you check your contacts and edit them which is strange.

Wasted every day of the past week trying to open an account and get insured. App is full of bugs. Seems like it would be an easy to use app like Monzo but it just isn’t. Web support / web chat is non existent and you just keep going round in circles trying to get in touch with someone. If you want phone support you’ve got to pay £12 a month. You’ll end up wasting a LOT of time which isn’t great if you’re trying to run a business

One star is too many AVOID
Tide froze my account as the directorship changed to my husband. After 4 weeks still waiting for tide to allow my husband the now director access. Don’t respond to emails, phone calls, open complaints. Bills bouncing because of this tin pot business. Avoid at all costs, it worth the hassle when there are so many better business accounts to choose from What a silly response from Tide….utter nonsense. We have complained many times, we have called many times, emailed many times and still you have not updated us or even responded or explained what we need to next. Instead you have stolen our money - and thousands of pounds and left us close to breaking point. You’re a pathetic excuse of an account and you will be paying for every bill bounced, the consequences of defaults and the fact our mortgage lender has rejected our mortgage application because of the defaults - utterly disgusting service

Business banking that left me unable to make payroll
What I found particularly frustrating was that I could not clearly locate this account balance limit anywhere in the Tide iOS app. The limits visible to me related to card spending, not the restriction Tide was actually applying. I eventually had to move £30,000 out of the current account and into Tide savings simply to reduce the current-account balance while trying to restore normal payment functionality. When I sought support, I was then told that Tide required additional “Proof of Business” documentation before considering an increase to the limit. I fully understand that banks have KYC and AML obligations, but it is extremely difficult to accept a business banking setup where legitimate company funds can be received into an account, only for the company to later discover that an account limit can prevent it from making basic outbound payments such as payroll. The support experience made matters worse. For something as serious as being unable to make payroll, I expected to be able to quickly speak to somebody who could explain the restriction and resolve it. Instead, I found myself navigating support messages and an app that did not clearly expose the relevant limit. For a funded company, this is simply too much operational risk. I cannot have payroll, suppliers and ordinary business expenditure dependent on whether an unclear account restriction suddenly prevents payments. I have now submitted a formal complaint and am moving Oneirix’s banking elsewhere. If Tide resolves the issue properly and provides a satisfactory explanation, I will update this review accordingly. (If Tide responds to this with the generic message, Hi sorry you’ve had this experience blah blah please email blah blah you’re an absolute joke, no accountability and no reasoning except ‘legal’ guise. I have formally submitted complaints to FCA and the FOS and I suggest other individuals also do the same)

We have been using tide for over 3 years since we started our business and it’s been an amazing experience, we can get fast loans and payment is amazingly easy
