its very fun but controls get frustrating
it's not as good as hoplight by Douglas Cowley, But it's pretty fun. It has similar mechanics,But it's not as well polished and a bit janky in some areas like changing equipment isn't responve and takes numerous taps. If you found this game remotely fun you would do yourself a disservice to not try hoplite, probably one of my top 3 favorites along with "FTL" and "out there"

Fantastic but buggy
Sometimes characters stack. points cap randomly I changed directions on an arrow into an enemy but the enemy didn’t lose a turn even though it was against a wall. I somehow ended up on level negative five. The game would be better with the ability to jump onto a shield. enemies that won’t get stuck/ the ability to progress regardless of stuck enemies. I actually think it makes sense if they count as defeated. An element of customization such as number of hearts and the number of stun leaps and the effect of the stun leap I want the same leap as the frogs as well as level and enemy customization My fav mobile game! Don’t think abt deleting until u make it to level 10! I didn’t pay for premium I think it was rewarded Tysm! I hope the new bugs are fixed soon. Love this game
Poor design
Lack of the feeling of accomplishment due to the poor animated, visual effects. On the other hand, it has too much gimmicks with poor manipulation. Eaten lots of times, but left very little satisfaction and a disappointment.
Good but needs polishing
As far as dungeon puzzle games go, this one is decent but needs some polishing to be great. There’s a good variety of challenging enemies and floor layout situations, but I have to knock off a couple stars for several reasons. The tutorial isn’t nearly long or thorough enough because it doesn’t fully explain all the different enemy types, what they can do, and how they can be defeated. Thus you’re left to figure it out by trial and error, sometimes at the cost of valuable turns or lives. The ‘Help’ menu that provides a breakdown of each of the enemies isn’t actually very helpful because it isn’t accessible while in-game, forcing you to either memorize all the different enemy types or guess and check and hope whatever you try works. Additionally, the descriptions as they are now aren’t the clearest and should be re-written for better clarity and specifics. For example, a relatively easy fix for this could be a symbol system that represents each of the move types and a table adjacent to each enemy that shows the respective move symbols that are effective against them. Also, the swiping controls are buggy at times where it will either make you stop shorter or take you further than where you intended to go. This could be fixed by replacing the swiping motion with the multi-tap sequence used for jump stuns. I.e.: tap move type -> tap tile where you want to go -> and then tap to confirm move. It should be noted that I’m playing this game on iOS, so it’s possible the current swiping based controls are better suited for iPadOS, which I haven’t tried. Finally, there’s no way to save your progress in a multi-level dungeon, so if you have to break away for a bit, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to pick back up where you left off. If these issues could be fixed or improved, it would be a near-perfect game.
Glorious
Great art style, and very fun, even when you lose. It’s super satisfying when you get a combo, or hook a bomb into multiple enemies. Worth the free purchase, and also worth the paid option.

Very fun and unique gameplay compared to other mobile games. Takes a lot of trial and error, and foresight to beat this game.
Fun but Arrow Glitches
For me the arrows routinely send me a different way than they’re pointing. I’ve even slid like I hit an arrow without there being one there. Would be fun without this glitch but it’s near impossible to win with it.
HAAARRD!
First of all your game is extremely frustrating and I know it’s meant to be hard but this just feels practically unplayable for me I have been gaming for years now and I am very good at what I do so this is so frustrating and I understand that there is a community of players who enjoy this game and I’m not trying to say that they shouldn’t like the game all I’m trying to say is the game is very good it’s just not my type of game
Amazing game but slightly buggy
I really adore this game - the concept is unique and the gameplay is endlessly fun but there is one small bug that really gets to me. To be fair, I don’t know if this is intentional or not but points seem to “reset” back to 1 whenever your action bar dips below 1 or 2 skulls and the overall score won’t increase until your reset score exceeds your previous score. Other than that, the game occasionally crashes and sometimes enemies will stack on the same tile but those events happen fairly infrequently. That being said, I understand the creator runs a fairly small operation and I would rather he focus his bandwidth on games that generate higher revenue as I own and love all of his mobile games and look forward to seeing what he has planned in the future!

Solid strategy, took off a star because some of the mechanics are unclear at first and also because of all those times I’m left with one of those grenadiers or turtles and they just keep running away
No clue what the rules are
Tell the player the rules of the game. Playing chess while not knowing how the enemy can move their pieces is not fun
I like the astethic and the gameplay very much but
I miss a ICloud Device Sync so much.....Please add and I‘ll leave 1-2 Stars more.

Tutorial is so buggy
I think I've tried 7 times to play the tutorial to no avail... It either crashes, freezes, doesn't respond, etc. it would be great to have a working tutorial :)

Fun and Engaging
It’s a very well made and thought out game. Definitely worth the download. However, be warned that turns can be unforgiving and seem unfair, but after some practice and good strategic planning you can get very far in this game. It’s hard at first but that’s what makes a good strategy game. Easy tactical games you see nowadays are mostly for toddlers who don’t have the brain capacity to solve puzzles or minor problems. This is for sure one of my favorites as of late.

Great Game!
I think this game is really fun and exercises your mind. If I had one thing I would say that should be improved the order of combat is a little confusing at times and a trait list for the monsters would be nice, a beastiary of sorts.

Terrible
My favorite mobile, but needs iPhone mini bug fix
Simple & elegant, trial & error turn-based strategy. Deceptively challenging, been playing for a couple months and haven’t made it past level 7. Careful, losing your shield in lava before taking out the turtle causes a stalemate! I’d give it 5/5, but the “notch” at the top of my iPhone 12 mini covers the current level and a bit of the score (same issue on Card Thief too). This may be an easy fix as there are substantial empty areas above & below the arena. Works perfectly, and looks amazing on iPad. Thanks for this game!

weird controls, boring gameplay, and way to much ads
Free version has annoying video ads.
The free version of this game has annoying and intrusive video ads. They happen so quickly, I couldn't figure out if I was interested in learning about the game, before I was so annoyed I was forced to quit. I might have simply bought the game, on the strength of the publisher other excellent titles. (Card Crawl in particular is a favorite of mine). But there was no option to buy dreictly (only IAP). And not enough demo before the adds drove me away.

Easy to play, hard to master
As stated in other reviews, this game is deceptively simple, it only takes a couple of rounds for you to understand the game mechanics. Great game for when you have 5 mins to spare, and if you make it farther than you expected to, you can pause and pick it up later. I love the art style, it nails the source material 100%.

Very satisfying game. My only minor complaint is that the controls are sometimes unresponsive which can lead to an untimely death.

Nicht mal tutorial spielbat
Ich kann im Tutorial nicht mal den ersten Gegner besiegen weil man dazu mit dem Finger ausserhalb des Bildschirms kommt. Der Button is zu weit unten. Zumindest bei meinem iPad Air.
Awesome game
Amazing puzzle game that fascinates the mind. Easy to learn, and VERY hard to master. One request, though- Please get rid of the yellow arrows. This seems irrational, I know, but it is one of the most annoying mechanics I've seen in a game in a while. The fact that it affects both dashing and hooking interrupts the flow of the whole level, in my personal opinion.

The game is really fun, love it! The way the map and enemy placements change each floor makes the game fun to replay several time :) There’s just one bug where the app doesn’t open, forcing users to redownload the app each time to make it successfully open. It’d be great if this were fixed :(

I really enjoy the game However I have a couple of requests and ideas Please nerf Minotaur He can literally charge across the whole screen I don't enjoy that because it makes it either something to block him or he just kills me from lava Give him like a limit of blocks The same with the hook It's op Can you also add these two ideas they will make it fun After level one all other levels have a chance of spawning a different weapon A weapon that you can replace either your hook or your shield Or it will spawn an ability that you can replace one of the other ability of yours Also a necromancers minion that can only once revive an enemy minion Also a random teleporting minion He teleports around not swaps places with you
Addictif mais
Bon côté : le jeu est très bon, assez difficile mais on s'adapte, bon style graphique Mauvais côté : IA à la ramasse (j'ai dû rester 20 min bloquer à cause d'un Minotaure immobile) ET surtout, apres la 3eme partie, le jeu t'oblige a regarder des pubs ou à payer pour continuer à jouer. A ce stade, autant faire un jeu payant et ne pas mettre de pub.
