Good content, cuts out from time to time
Good content, cuts out from time to time
CEO
Need more coverage for motor racing, TV/Radio coverage in sports on Monday
Accessibility friendly
For anyone with low vision issues this is an excellent app. Print can be maximized with finger control. Plus the app has easy access points and many ways to view sections and individual articles. The app also allows a user to listen to any article.
Easy to navigate
I like that I can read the paper in “newspaper” form or I can get to breaking news. Also easy to find past issues.
News App
Old news is always available on the app!
Go Illini
I really enjoy the coverage of the local teams and the university of Illinois that I get from reading the news gazette.
It’s good to have a local paper
I began subscribing to the News Gazette when I lived in Albuquerque. We had decided to move to Urbana and I wanted to become familiar with the area. Millie Otto’s column is sweet, though I wonder if she’s getting tired of writing it. I’ve always wondered why local news spends so much coverage on sports and so little on the arts. The Mailbag is a favorite of mine. I hope all the high school reporting turns the youngsters into regular consumers of the news. The editorial slant is conservative but the letters to the editor provide some balance. Generally, I believe it’s a good newspaper.
Poor on ipad mini, great on iphone
App Works well on iphone, but not on an ipad mini. On ipad, it is difficult to find and change options, such as switching pages or editions.
Works Very Well
It started as expected being a little clunky but now it’s great. Thanks for all your hard work and this city is so fortunate to have a GREAT NEWSPAPER. Keep up the good work.
Nice app
That’s right.
Getting better
The app has improved. The ‘real paper’ crashes much less. ‘Live News’ section still needs work by being better organized.
Best Sports Section in Illinois
Top notch! The Benchmark!
There when needed
Yes!
Usable, but unwieldy
Even after the update, the newspaper view is still the best, but neither view is particularly elegant.
Swift as a gazelle!
Let’s applaud the Champaign News Gazette mobile application as being swift as a gazelle.
Local news
Comforting to be able to read the local news while away from CU. Important to stay aware of what is going on back home. Appreciate the focus on local & state news not on national — can get this from different sources on-line.
Online editions
I love how readily accessible the online version of the News Gazette is.
Big Improvement
This is so much better than the old version that frequently crashed. The only improvement would be to NOT update so frequently and keeping you from reading the articles. Still, much better!
Nice app
Working well on British Isles cruise. App for USA Today papers won’t deliver, here.
Improved
Now when you get on the app you can usually read the whole paper before you’re kicked off. During the last quarter, you were lucky if you could read a page and a half without having to reboot the app. Made one skim. Now we can actually read and process the news.
Health reporter Jana Wiersema
Thank you for the very well written and informative article on fertility fraud.
Nice app
No complaints. Enjoy the paper everyday.
