What people like
- Unique music style makes listening very engaging
- Voice acting feels natural and insightful
- Great tool for daily scripture habits
- Helpful speed controls not found elsewhere
What they complain about
- Music drowns out the narration too much
- App forgets where you left off reading
- Playback stops when you lock your screen
- You cannot download audio for offline use
Volume Control
I love this app! The only thing I ask is for volume control over the music and narration. In some chapters the music was too loud for me to hear the narration, this would be a game changer for the app!
Love it!
This is so good!! Love reading the bible this way. I hope they will include downloading books soon. :) I want to listen while travelling.
Playing in the background
Is a great app, been using it for a while. He used to play in the background when my phone was lock or when I switched app it continue playing. For some reason it stop playing every time when switching app.
Rewind/Forward Buttons
Love the app, but please fix the rewind and forward buttons. Whenever I click rewind it jumps to the next chapter. It’s really frustrating.
Love this audio Bible!
I never write reviews, but I just have to for this app because it’s so great. I always get tired of the monotonous voices of most audio Bibles, so I was extremely happy when I found out this app existed! I use it almost everyday because it’s super engaging and a great tool! Definitely get this app!!
Update request
Yeah it’s really good but Is it possible to have the text on the same screen as the Streetlights audio Bible? This is so I can follow it on the screen as I’m listening
The music is way too loud
It’s really difficult to hear what he is saying at times because the music competes so much. I do think it’s an interesting presentation of scripture. He reads it as if he is personally talking, opposed to reading, which helps the listener not drift their attention. I just wish the music wasn’t so loud/less busy. Sometimes the track is anxiety inducing because it’s just too much. It’s like club music.
Amazing!
I LOVE THIS APP! Such an amazing app especially for those that like lofi instrumentals or just love hip hop in general.
Repeat function and randomly stopping in certain books
Long time use of this app and it’s phenomenal but I’ve noticed when it gets to the end of every book of the Bible, the Support Streetlights track never plays. the app says, Sorry we’re working on it trying to fix it. I really enjoy listening to the books on repeat but because of this happening it completely disrupts my listening experience. Additionally when I listen to some of the longer books like Psalms or 1 & 2 Samuel and 1 & 2 Kings it will randomly stop itself mid read. The features that you offer on the app aren’t offered anywhere else. I like listening to the Bible at 1.5x speed and I can’t do that on Spotify or anywhere else(to my knowledge) that this content is available in audio form only. This has been going on for years, please fix it ASAP.
I can’t access the features
I love the SLB audio but the app seems to offer studies and various features that I can’t access. Looking forward to app improvements!
Best bible auto out there!
Down loaded this app to play in the car as I am trying to spend more time absorbing the Word. Which as a busy working Mom is hard. It’s been great, real game changer. Definitely recommend if you find yourself lacking in scripture time!
Love the app but where is Daniel?
I’ve really enjoyed the app so far but just realized today that I didn’t see the book of Daniel when reading through the Old Testament. Haven’t noticed any other books missing but curious why there’s no Daniel.
Good recordings, bad app
The recordings are great but the app itself needs some work. It is lacking some basic features that would make it so much nicer to use, such as: - remember your spot when you close and re-open the app - automatically advance to the next chapter without unlocking your phone - control playback from the lock screen
Audio Bible off the chain!
An amazing experience! I love the audio bible the music and cadence makes it hard to stop listening.
🙌🏼
Excellent Creative intuitive Fresh Good word
Students are listening!
Thankful for the streetlights app! It is an incredible tool! One unchurched young lady in our public school Bible Club has been listening daily and recently shared that she is now listening regularly with her mom!
Awesome!
I found out about this while listening to the You Version Bible. I was listening to Romans & during the plan I heard these guys. I had to dig a little but found out who these guys were and downloaded the Streetlights App. I just started with it so I don’t know about the ins & outs of the apps but it’s the content and their message I love. I’m hoping they continue to expand their outreach & offerings. It’s so refreshing and I believe speaks to more than they realize.
Fresh take on Scripture
Very cool app, offers an engaging way to listen to the Bible and some new and fresh teaching.
Awesome AND Annoying
This is an amazing app. I absolutely love the material and the content. What a beautiful way for this kind of talent to be displayed! Not sure if it is my old phone or what... but anytime a track/chapter ends and I do not have my phone opened to the app... it will not automatically proceed to the next track. I have to pick my phone back up, pull open the app for it to proceed to the next track. Terribly annoying.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
I love this audio bible so much! My only thought would be that if you could add an option to adjust the volume of the background music!! For some chapters I find it difficult to focus on the word being spoken. Probably just me but maybe others feel the same? Not sure! Still a fan though and will continue listening!!!
God’s word in a fresh way!...
Jesus on a beat! I love it!! I have two suggestions for improvement. I wish these were downloadable for listening offline, and for some reason, when I listen to these, it doesn’t show up on the Lock Screen to play and pause. If you guys could fix these, that would be a game changer!!
Inspiring and Engaging Resource for the Next Generation
Streetlights is an exceptional app that brings the Bible to life through its updated audio version of the New Living Translation. The combination of diverse voices and engaging background music creates a powerful and relatable experience, especially for younger listeners. As a retired school superintendent, I recognize the importance of connecting with students in meaningful ways. I’ve been sharing this app with high school and college coaches as a resource they can offer to athletes when appropriate. The blend of Scripture with culturally relevant audio makes it a unique and impactful tool for personal growth and spiritual encouragement. Thank you to the developers for creating such an innovative and accessible way to experience God’s Word. Keep up the great work—you are making a difference!
Great!
This production is engaging and keeps you coming back for more. This has really helped me with my bible reading plan. Chill beats help you focus and keep your mind from wandering while you listen to the incredible voice artists read scripture to you. Only complaint is the app doesn’t save your spot so you have to find the chapter where you left off. Otherwise it’s great!
Exceptionally great reading.
The music is great, but the star here is the reading inflection. They do a great job of emphasizing the sentences in a way that reveals new insights to me. Love this app!
Solid App
Hate that there’s no offline option but it makes sense. There are a few things exclusive to the app but most can be downloaded offline. On their website you can download almost all the albums for free.
