The outside app
Reliable succinct and up to date, the BOM app is my go to for what’s happening outside.
Wrong rain
Constantly says it will rain. The app or site fails to acknowledge Lee and lay side of the great dividing range.

Can’t be relied on for accurate location-based data
I live 20km away from the “local” weather station that is used to provide data for the GPS-based “Current location” option. I don’t live up Mount Dandenong, where the weather is frequently different, so why would the BOM app use that for my location? There used to be a weather station a couple of suburbs away, but as that location now uses the same Mount Dandenong location that my suburb does I guess it was shut down. As the other weather apps on this platform seem to use Coldstream as my “local” source of data (even further away and also with markedly different weather in winter, for example,) I guess the best thing to do is set the apps to my capital city and look out the window every now and then.
BOM is awesome
The BOM is great.
Loses features + less accurate now
The rain map is always wrong these days. The humidity and UV tabs both keeps disappearing and reappearing in spite of various fixes (background refresh and caching fixes) on my side and reinstalls. This is predictably woeful now.

Often wrong, often useless
Raining in Sydney all day while the app shows cloudy/sunny, and “50% chance of at least 0 mm” - does that make sense to anyone? Humidity today is ~90% while the app shows 46%. Such gross inaccuracies are very common in my experience. Too much development effort on security/updates and so little remains for the point of it all?
Basic
Provides fundamental weather info but without all that much detail. In particular, it doesn’t really give much info about humidity and dew point, so it’s not a great guide to how uncomfortable it feels in Brisbane.

Although it’s a great app showing weather of different locations in Australia, the app crashes at least several times daily on my iPad Pro, please fix this bug ASAP 😤

Just love the detailed info on BOM. You can extrapolate the reliable advice for any imminent planning. A must have resource for the meticulous planner.

Nice new look but crashes frequently
Much cleaner look to the new app. Easy to navigate and find the information you need. But, the app crashes almost every time I try to open it. Using the latest iOS on an XR

Having difficulty finding long term data for a specific location. Is it still available????

I use the BOM site many times per day
2 week forecast.
Be good to have a column with dates (eg 23/9) with 2 week forecast. Date and Time do a 2 week but I use BOM and wish for it.

Weather app for Australian travel
I travel all over Australia and have found BoM Weather to be really reliable. At a quick look I gain a picture of what the weather will be today and over the week. I also know the worst possible and what is likely.
BOM app and website
The BOM app works fine. It’s a pity the website isn’t any good. I don’t understand since the supposed upgrade, why it doesn’t show upcoming weather and only shows what’s been. It’s really annoying if you need to know if showers are on the way and I don’t understand why you can see it on the app but not on the website.
