There’s no way to try before you buy. I wanted to see how this worked on the Apple Watch to see how easy it might be, but I can’t try it out so I will not buy.
Undo feature
I love using the app, but there’s one thing that’s missing on the app that would be very beneficial. That will be an undo button, to help fix any unwanted tallies or clicks made by mistake.
No Tally reset button
You can only track 3 things until they make you pay. And there is no way to reset the tally if you accidentally marked it too many times, at least not on the free version.
Watch app crashes
I specifically chose this app over other tally counters due to its Apple Watch compatibility, however, the app simply does not launch on my Apple Watch Series 5
Simple and works
I love the different colors and calendar feature.
Can’t export data
I paid for this app with the intention to track things and occasionally export the data. At one point, maybe 1-2 years ago, I was able to export to Dropbox. Now the “Link to Dropbox” option is still there but it doesn’t do anything, it registers a tap but nothing happens. I have Dropbox installed and am logged in. Backing up to iCloud doesn’t actually give you a file you can use. Now I’m faced with the tedious task of having to manually input everything I’ve been tracking into a spreadsheet. As soon as I do I’ll be ditching this app for good.
So easy to use
Great app, but I wish the premium version wasn’t so expensive! $60/year?! I’ve been using it for habit tracking and tracking spending. Intuitive and has appealing graphics.
One time payment option please!
This app looks like what I need but I don’t want another subscription service. Would gladly pay a one-time purchase though
Not great for people who cross time zones often
I am a paid subscriber and have found Tally to be genuinely helpful for staying consistent with micro habits. One issue I keep running into as a frequent traveler: tallies appear to be tied to time zones rather than locked to calendar days. Because I move between time zones often, my historical data shifts - habits show as double-completed on one day and missed on another, even though I actually completed them once per day. Ideally, once a tally is completed for a calendar day (e.g. February 1), that day should be permanently locked, regardless of later time zone changes. Right now, my habit history feels unstable when it should be fixed and reliable. I wish I could submit this via the in-app support/feedback option, but that form doesn’t appear to work, so sharing it here instead. Would love to see this fixed as an update.
I love this app!
I don’t write app reviews so you should see this as high praise. I was looking for something to help me track medications that I take as needed. I needed to track what I took and when I took it with the ability to look back over time. This was the perfect answer! Thank you so much for filling my exact need.
Should be 0 stars
The apps basic version only allows you to track 3 habits. If you want more you have to pay a $30/year subscription (if you pay for the discounted rate) to get “unlimited” but from other reviews I’ve read it sounds buggy once you pay for it. Other issue, if it works, you can’t undo any tallies you have, so if you accidentally add a tally to the wrong habit get wrekt your numbers will always be off. Should be simple to add a way to edit your tallies if needed and it would go a long way. And only giving 3 habits to track seems like it’s just a money grab. Save your money and time and use a different app.

not worth it
stupidly paid for some kind of bundle i thought would be worth it months ago. waste of money for the features available. it’s a simple app, which is fine, but when i clicked into ‘all plans’ in my apple subscriptions it turns out i’m paying for the most expensive one. and nothing tells me what this plan includes. i also would really like to be able to sort my items by ‘last done’ but when i hit ‘last’ in the sort order, it seems to put them in some kind of random order. definitely not last to most recent or vice versa. could be worth it for you if you pay the most basic price but i’ve already cancelled my plan and will stop using it when it expires. just seems shady to me.
Suggestion
Could you add an “edit” feature that if we accidentally tap a tally we can erase one number. Maybe a “shake to undo” or a simple “minus” button?
Great App

Beware!
I was so excited to use this app, but now I will not recommend it to anyone. In the app, I received a promotional offer of $7.49 for a year of premium. I took it, because that seemed like a great deal. I was charged, and Apple showed my subscription in my subscription settings. My app still showed I had the free, basic plan, even after closing the app, restarting, and even giving it a day to see if it registered. Clicking “Restore purchases” says they can’t find a subscription. No big deal, I’ll just contact app support. Surely they’ll help. Wrong. I’ve sent multiple requests AND included screenshots of both my subscription and the app saying I still have the basic plan. Silence. No response at all. Apple also will not refund me, so I’ve just given this company $7.49 for no reason. Thank goodness I didn’t pay full price.
Overall very good
Overall Tally is a solid app. It has immensely improved how I track my goals and helps me become my best self. A feature that would be helpful is if the app could live sync across devices connected to my iCloud account and not just backup to iCloud.
Good tracker, paid for premium but no premium access
I liked the tracker on the free trial and wanted to track more items. I paid for the premium version and when the premium options are selected it only offers to purchase premium again. Apple subscription shows I’ve paid. In the app it’s not registering or finding a restored purchase. I’ve restarted the app and my phone. I’ve emailed support at the address suggested in the app and the one the dev posted here for another user with the same problem. No answers even given time off for the holidays. I’d love to continue using the app, but I might have to consider the money lost and find another app.
Can't go back
It's a cute app but I keep getting an extra tally by mistake and have to create a new one each time because it's impossible to correct the number or remove one to the count.
Fantastic Anything Tracker App!
I’ve been using the Tally “Track Anything” app for a couple of years now, and it has really helped me stay organized and consistent. I love how easy it is to add, remove, and customize what I want to track. The interface is simple and straightforward, but it’s incredibly effective at keeping me on track with my goals. I’ve never had any negative issues with it — just a solid, reliable app that does exactly what it promises.
Scammers
Paid for a yearlong subscription. App essentially stopped working, I deleted and redownloaded and they charged me again. Absolute trash and scammers, use one of the other million habit tracking apps out there.
Missing feature
Very nice interface. Very useful. But a critical missing feature is the ability to export the data for analysis.
Lacks support
I saw someone mention that us older subscribers were being kicked out because we paid a lower price. I’m starting to think it’s true. I haven’t been able to use the app since the last update (about 2 months) and support has not responded to my message and it’s been almost a month. I paid for lifetime so I should have lifetime use.
Useful
Great for tracking but I have an iPhone 12 and the calendar will only show 4 weeks on the screen. Major flaw but assume it works fine for larger screens. Would have given 5 stars if they could fix this very small bug (there’s a lot of dead space above the calendar I’m not sure why they’re not using)
Feature request
The app is great and the free version is suitable for most tracking a few things. FEATURE REQUEST Please make it possible to edit timestamps on previous tallys. When trying to track intervals, it would be helpful to be able to edit this.
Scam app
This app automatically asked me to sign up for premium which I did by accident I tried to cancel within one second but was unable to get a refund! The customer support buttons and contact buttons do not work in the app. DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!!
Bug?
Unable to access on Apple Watch
App good, subscription bad.
The app itself is nice. Simple interface, easy to use, does what I want it to do (count and keep track of things I’ve done for the day). I do wish there were more stats such as the average of how often things happen on each day of the week, or if two items are correlated. But the purchasing/subscription is a problem. $30 annually for this? It counts things. 30 bucks. Really? Luckily, I first found this when they still offered a “one time upgrade” for $7, and paid for that since it was a reasonable price and it does provide a service that I want. Unluckily, this last update (version 1.21.13) caused the app to not recognize my purchase and now it throws a big banner asking me to upgrade to a subscription. The restore purchase button doesn’t work, and I also can’t use the premium features such as creating more tallies. The kicker is that this is not the first time they’ve broken my purchased app with an update trying to get me to subscribe annually for 4x more than I originally paid for a “one time upgrade”. Last time (version 1.21.1), it took a few emails and searching through apple to find the original App Store receipt, then waiting a couple weeks, before it was fixed. Now I have the pleasure of doing it all again. Yay. *Update a couple years later (02/2025 now): the app broke again and wants me to cough up more money so I’m lowering my rating another star (2/5).
Tally is almost perfect
Health Warning TMTTR Instead of programming the tally in 1-n (I set it to 100) repeatedly, by pressing the back button from the tally function. A mode for reducing the count to an achieved/completed ‘habit’ would have been much cleaner. After entering to the custom menus I was not able to find a tally reset for count. So | used the help section on customising tally counts. Following the points to do so instead of leaving the menu with the job done, I was taken to a customise combined-spot on the screen…. were a tabbed message giving me the option to customise is not working. I also see that a - number for programming my phone i.e minus 1 or n. Is not going to solve this! Overall a simple idea 👏👏 but done without much finess 10/10 for effort lol.
Needs an option to delete a Tally
Love the app and concept. 5 stars would be if there was a way to delete /take away a tally if you accidentally press the button.
Do not download
I saw this on a substack so I downloaded it and paid and it is so buggy does not work you have to open and close the app multiple times to set a single goal. Do not download!! And do not pay. No free trial.
Almost perfect
I use this app to keep track of my daily spending so I can add it to a budget spreadsheet I made for myself. Everything works fine most of the time, but there are some things that do not. Some days, the value from the previous day is still on the tally and I have to restart the app and refresh multiple times for it to reset to zero. Also, I have a notification set up to remind me every day at a specific time to add my value to my spreadsheet but that notification only works for a day or two then it’ll stop notifying altogether. I try to contact support through the app but it says it’s unavailable. Hopefully the development team still pushes out updates because this has really helped me keep track of my finances in a super simple way.
Watch app doesn’t sync with phone app
The tally on the watch doesn’t sync with the phone, or at least not consistently. That makes it completely inaccurate and useless if you have an Apple Watch. There’s also a delay on the watch so I tapped the tally multiple times thinking it didn’t register, and then it recorded them as separate taps. I had to go back to the phone to try to remove the extras, and of course the sync wasn’t working right so it didn’t matter. I actually paid for the intro subscription rate, but I was going to cancel anyway before it renewed because the renewal price is ridiculous.
Love it BUT too many bugs
The app is great, but after a few day of using it the widget stopped working and I can't log anything in the app anymore it doesnt do anything... would love that to be fixed since I paid for the premium version

Thievery
I once was a big fan of this app — in fact, all the apps from this developer. Then they got greedy. Their Growth Bundle provided reasonable pricing for all of their apps and I've been a subscriber for five years. But my recently-renewed subscription is no longer active in any but one of the 10 apps I use — and I'm being gouged to the tune of $340+ every year if I want to continue using them. Developer support is nonexistent; my email messages are being ignored. Given the plethora of reasonably-priced apps that do what this app does, you're better off looking someplace else.
Wish I could justify subscription
I like this app a lot and use it daily. If they had a lifetime promo, I’d be tempted. I’m thankful for the 3 free tallies. The app is simple, reliable, and pleasing to look at. I have noticed some issues but the team seems on it. I recommend.

More glitches lately and widgets do not show on ipad mini 6

Wonderful App except one issue
Wonderful app! A beautiful design, easy to use, lovely layout and concept and a good way to keep track of habits and tasks. However/ sadly whenever I tried to have the widget on the screen it would only be blank saying the widget would say there’s no habits?? So I could never see it on my main screen which was one of the main things I was looking/hoping for
Seems unfinished
Good idea but…. Very expensive sub for what it is. The today tab is always yesterday, doesn’t change with the date. No option for a single and simple yes or no ‘Done’ once per day. iCloud “backup” never in sync and overwrites every made elsewhere. Apple Watch not in sync with iPhone. No complications on faces.
Apple Watch app doesn’t work
I try to click a tally and nothing happens even after resetting it. It also takes forever to sync with tallies I do on my phone. :(
The Return of Tally!
I just downloaded this app after over two years of inactivity and it’s still great. It’s simple. It’s elegant. It works.
Used to be great (no support)
I used this app for years. It used to be great, and then it started to get buggy with freezing and lagging and hanging issues. They also stripped out the ability to export your metrics to CSV. I paid for the app and still got no support. I must’ve emailed them 10 times and never heard back. I switched to the Habit app.
Great app for tracking anything
Easy to tally one of anything and also easy to add any number, even with decimals. Two oddities: it always thinks it’s today when you open the app. Even if you are still looking at yesterday. It also lets you look at previous months and years if you are reviewing graphs for all tallied items, but won’t let you go back if you are only looking at a specific item. Hope they fix those someday and also let you export or back up your data like the earlier versions did.
Please make a watch complication
This app awesome and simplistic. I only need to track 1 thing so I am enjoying the free option. However, it would be so great if there was a complication option so I can quickly track on my watch. I would even pay a small amount to have it. Thank you
