Buggy
Makes you watch ads to progress then freezes on ads and deletes progress saves
Great but short story
The main story and quests of this game is great. Once I beat the final boss I felt a lack of want to keep progressing.
Starts cool...
Has an amazing first hour, the art is beautiful and there's new stuff all the time. But, for every new thing you get, the time between each is made more and more exponential. Each boss fight is so gimmicky and strong you need an excessive amount of force and the one viable strategy to get through. It doesn't take a "strong will" to do the later parts, it takes a complete numbness for how terrible it is to glean small flecks of fun. Play it, but stop playing it once it gets on your nerves. It will only get worse.

This might be the best rpg I have ever played
I first started stone story rpg around 2 years ago when I saw my older cousin playing it on his phone so I asked my dad if I could get he said yes because it looked like a good game was like 3 bucks at the time I started playing it and I mean it was good but not really what rpg looked in my head so I stopped play for 2 months after my said 2 month hiatus I got back to playing it again because I was bored and was looking for something to do they game was excellent minimal ads no micro transaction popups every 15 minutes and no complaints except for the grinding being quite tedious but you get used to it overall great game and i can’t wait for any further updates or sequels
Ad problem
Hey, the bitlife app ad doesn’t allow me to exit it: I have to close the game. Can you guys find a way to fix it? Great game, as soon as this gets a reply, I’ll take it down.
Nice, but needs improvement.
The story is very fun and engaging. The mind stone is actually very creative. I still hope there’s more story and more weapon types. The pierce enchantment on some crossbows are a bit underwhelming. Then, the sudden flash of white or cyan is extremely unfriendly to my eyes, given the game’s overall darkish theme, and especially at night, it’s like a sudden white banner at full brightness on a dark mode webpage, please improve the QoL on this aspect.
Good Game but fundamentally flawed
I like the game, it’s a nice idle RPG and the design is really cool. What is unforgivable, in my opinion, is the way you have to manually save your game. And I don’t mean you have to click a save button every so often - you have to either: export the game file using a token (this is intended to port saves onto other devices) or copied the save file to your clipboard, where you’ll have to manually save it somewhere. It seems backwards because the things you can buy with real money is later in the game, so the incentive is to get you to that point but no if you want to keep all the stuff you’ve farmed for - and you do have to farm - you have to do it manually. I’ve had to figure this out myself so I’ve restarted everything about 5 times now and 3 of those times is due to the biggest problem currently in the game - the ads. They are optional to upgrade or get treasure but some of them softlock you within the ad, the BitLife one is the main culprit. Because you’re soft locked you have to close the game, which deletes all your progress, so if you aren’t constantly manually saving the file somewhere you will never progress. Having to replay the game multiple removes the charm, it’s not that quick and not that randomised so the only interesting takeaways are in the later story bits that you can’t even reach. I can’t justify giving this more than 2 stars, so much frustration and for everything it had going for it.
Bad adds
I would rate higher but every time I get a bit life add I can’t close it or collect the bonus. Get rid of those adds.
Programming RPG
Late game requires you programming for best strategy to progress even further. Well without programming you can experience about 90% content so don’t worry.
As greedy as the others
I’m unsure why the top reviews for this app hail it as some sort of shining example of consumer-friendly monetization when it is truly just like the rest of the games on the App Store at the moment. What you have is an extremely linear “RPG” that requires little to no conscious thought, and offers even less in terms of gameplay and build expression. By the end of your first hour on the game, it will be giving you advertisements and pop-ups for “Limited Time equipment” which is just Pay-to-Win gear that will progress you through the story much quicker than otherwise. The grind of the game quickly became a slog, the story wasn’t interesting or fleshed out, and the equipment and build aspect is shallow and linear. It’s another Monetization System with a game attached. So, in other words, this game is no different than the thousands of “idle” games out there. I have no clue why it gets critical acclaim from the top reviews when it suffers from the very faults that they quote as being issues in other games.

Bitlife ad
This ad has taken my rewards more than like 10 times. I lose my progress because the ad is broken and won’t let you skip and close even after the ad is finished and you’re supposed to close for your award. This aggravates me so much and I get real mad. You guys need to change this, I’m so close to deleting the app.
Not to glaze this game, but….
This game is truly superb! Minimal ads, riveting gameplay. My only complaint is that progress is quite tedious; but otherwise, it’s a good example of a great game. It’s quite underrated, too! That probably came off as glaze, but I’m not lying when I say this game is excellent.
Games absolutely ruined
Needs a definitive save button. I’ve lost 5+ hours of gameplay due to saves not working and I’m really upset about it. I gave this a 5 star review and now it’s a 1 star because I can’t even progress. Hours and hours wasted on this game and I just lose all my progress because the games ai won’t save anymore. Ruined the game
Where is the next major update?
So the entire game is really well made and done, but wheres the end of the story? the reason the cult sings the chant? the meaning behind acropolis? wheres the extra story, dysangelos background, and whats up with the stream of the silent? like seriously, you cant just add this in and expect for nobody to notice! Otherwise, fantastic game, but please update sometime soon
Stuck at loading screen then lost my stuff
Two days ago I opened the game to play and I got stuck loading. I waited for about an hour, but I was still stuck. Thankfully, I have another device and managed to get in, only to find out all my weapons are gone. Only my lost items and basic crafting materials stayed. I’ve worked so hard and now I lost almost all of it.

Stone script is to hard to learn and I love the game but I just can’t deal with it. And you can’t even copy paste 💀 I hate it

Amazing (with some quirks) then meh
Just got this today and am in LOVE with this game. It reminds me a bit of “A Dark Room” which I also fell in love with back in the day but,,, this is free. Ads are optional and there for getting better/more items from chests occasionally. Overall the gameplay is pretty great though i agree with the crafting and sorting critiques I’ve seen wholeheartedly. Hopefully that gets fixed in the future. Good job, devs! Update: beat the story driven portion of the game then essentially it’s just grinding which,,, is not really fun. unless you want to learn a coding language and basically show up to craft and change strategies (basically being a manager to the game) then i would say that’s the point to jump off the train
Could be better
I would play this more if the automation tablet actually worked. It never heals me or performs the lines of code I put in. Also loses points since you can’t play this offline.
Alright
It’s an alright game and a really cool concept, but it’s all automated, you can’t move your character it just does the same think every time, you can only craft, hold things and press a button to go to a different place, I would love the game if I could actually move the character.

This is the perfect RPG. By It has a perfect balance between challenge and strategy that makes it difficult yet fun! Stone Story has a deceptively complex combat system. It looks fairly simple when you start, but later in the game your strategic skills are put to the test. In late game you are required to meticulously plan your weapon load-out according to the level, forcing you to memorize and learn from your mistakes. Don’t be fooled. This is a game of intricate strategy, and not for the weak minded. ) ( (( )) ´<々>` Five stars! ☆☆☆☆☆

It gets boring late game by just doing stuff over and over again but very very good in the beginning
Don’t be Tricked
This game may seem to have a very stale progression, but you unlock so many techs the stronger you get, and there are a lot of them. I will say this: this game is not for the weak, especially those who want a quick game to turn off your brain. It requires a lot of thinking and strategic executions which may not be for everyone.

This game is bad I was really excited but at the very beginning where you see a stone with an eye etched onto it it’s just FREEZES FIX. UR. GAME.

Amazing game, animation is well put together, the only thing keeping me from giving it five stars is the refer a friend code. I get my friend to put in the referral code but scotty just keeps saying “nay nay wrong passcode” and several attempts have been made, but there hasnt been any progress
One with the Elements
I spent two hours on this phase before beating it. The first and last phases were a breeze because I’m over-levelled for them. I love this game, but when I get the boss down to 2000 health over the course of an hour and a half only for it to randomly slow me down five times in a row and heal itself back up to over 6000 that’s another thing. Even when I beat it, it didn’t feel like a victory, just pure luck.

If you seem to become stuck on a screen it’s not the games issue, if you think it’s frozen or something. Try clicking and actually playing the game instead of leaving bad reviews that aren’t even relevant to the game. This game is honestly fine, good for time consumers.
Great game, but with problems.
I really enjoy playing Stone Story, and the ASCII are is phenomenal. But, there is a huge roadblock. In the fight of Xyloalgia, the game is rigged and I have no way to progress as I cannot beat the boss, and I have no other items to use. It is nearly impossible, and always, ALWAYS, by the time I reach the boss fight, I am 11 hp or lower with no way to change that. If you could at least nerf the boss, or add another way to progress, that would be amazing. And still, great game!
Amazing RPG!
Stone story stood out to me for its unique style and it didn’t disappoint! All of the areas are interesting and the game is super addicting. What ads the game has aren’t too intrusive and there are in game purchases but they aren’t necessary for progression. 10/10 game totally recommend

Very enjoyable game, but there are a few times where the screen doesnt change and my character progresses further off screen where I cant see what hes doing or the enemies hes fighting. This happened at deadwood canyon on 2 stars
