What people like
- Great for following local sports teams
- Easy to use and convenient
- Good coverage of Ohio Buckeyes games
What they complain about
- Ads pop up even if you pay
- App freezes and loads very slowly
- Subscription login keeps failing or asking again
- News feels old or biased to some
Enjoy my Daily read
I continue to enjoy the Dispatch as it it more efficient than an actual paper. Like the experience.
NOT Fair and balanced
If you’re looking for a news source (local or National) to support your liberal views….while not even attempting to have shared/balanced news, the Columbus Dispatch and the Gannett Media family of publications is for you. Shameful!!
great app
i love the easy download when it’s working.
iPad freezes
I get n Two thirds to 3/4 a way through the issue and my iPad freezes.
Once great paper
The Columbus Dispatch, a once great newspaper,is now too left leaning to be enjoyed. In addition, sports news is a day late on all local sports teams. Actually I’m not certain why I still subscribe to same.
Good App
Love the dispatch
Stop the Pop up marketing
Why do we get Pop Up Marketing with a paid subscription! If I wanted more email from you I would subscribe to it! STOP THE POP UP MARKETING!!
Great six days a week
Not a big fan of a lot. Of the Sunday features. Am happy with the USA Today sections.
Subscription
I pay 69.99 yr but my phone asks me each time to reenter email and password in order go to read article. Please help!
Too many ads
I pay for a subscription yet get constant pop up ads.
Mike
Yes
Miserable experience
You are forced to view ads promoting all sorts of “dispatch “ ads promoting the Dispatch which you already subscribe to. And you have to wait for a while to be able to click off them!…
Trumps Accomplishments never on front page
Why don’t you publish President Trump’s successful accomplishments on the front page like you did Biden? An historic accomplishment as the Phase I peace deal in Israel he directed certainly warranted front page coverage. I realize you have a Nation section, but this warranted front page coverage. I, and I know many others in Ohio, would appreciate this. Thank You for your attention to this matter!
Slow
As of 12/25 the app is consistently slow. Ads load first. Content loads eventually - usually. When selecting an article the content may not load right away. The app will eventually catch up loading content for each click.
Extremely frustrating because I cannot use the app. It doesn’t let me anymore.
A few months ago I signed up for business dispatch, digital annual subscription for $19.99 but now, for some reason, I cannot use the app at all and I don’t understand why because it says that I can subscribe and it says that the subscription will be good for like an entire another year into 2027 so not ideal but if it works it’s a good app but I haven’t had a problem ever since subscribing months and months ago
Great comics pages
I enjoy the Dispatch and especially the comic pages.
Restore iTunes subscription not working
I don’t read the dispatch regularly but I subscribe bc it my hometown newspaper. Haven’t been able to get my iTunes subscription to the paper to work for about a month now. I will be canceling my renewal because I don’t have time to mess with it. I’ve tried deleting the app and adding it back and rebooting my phone. I’ve also tried on multiple devices.
Steady local reporting
The Dispatch staff does well with local stories
3day old News
The Dispatch and probably most other Gannett publications have become worthless. The printed news has already been reported 2-3 days ago from other sources.
Review
The news is very dated & biased on the liberal side
Great paper
While, I think it is a great paper, I do not appreciate ads popping up when I already paid for it the app.
Digital version needs an engine upgrade
I am constantly frustrated with the digital edition. Please upgrade your engine to something more akin to what the Wall Street Journal uses.
Keeps me on top of the most important local news
Not fancy, but does the job right. Folks that whine about limited access to free articles should either PAY for subscription (most likely, if no one would buy The Dispatch the app would not be around), or get creative with their phone to continue reading for FREE ; )
Support Journalism
Read newspapers, even if you don’t agree with the content. Write letters. Get engaged. Trump is destroying all truths written. He is trying to eradicate free speech.
Enjoying the paper
Our Dispatch writers are great. I have enjoyed the spotlight on each of the reporters.
Not working for me
Unable to read Dispatch in enewspaper after paying for subscription. No one was able to help me at all. Not the Dispatch technical or Apple customer care. About a month before it was fine. I really wanted to read and enjoy it every morning.
Old News
Good Columbus Day old news. Delivery service very poor. Paper usually in grass and missing shove.
All the news you need easy
Great way to keep up with the important latest news.
Reading the Dispatch
Why can’t I rotate the display to landscape view. It makes the reading so much easier and print is easier on the eyes for reading especially for an older adult.
Easy to read
Like having a newspaper to read each day
Local News Everywhere
I really enjoy my Dispatch e-edition ! It allows me to keep up-to-date on my Buckeyes and local news !
Angry!
Won’t open in chrome!!!!
Great news source!
Very convenient and easy to use app, providing an excellent news source at your convenience!
Endless buckeye notifications are not breaking news. App taken over by awful clickbait ads.
As a subscriber, I am so sick of getting endless Buckeye notifications. Users should be able to pick what category notifications they receive. I want breaking news. Real, actual news. And now the app, even as a paying subscriber, is wallpapered after every paragraph with terrible obviously fake clickbait ads. Just awful. This paper used to be good.
Great local news
Good job covering local news!
Lousy app for a lousy rag
Except for breathless up to the minute accounts of OSU football, the only “news” here is stale stuff from yesterday, or promising links that instead dump you into a USA Today site or other such drivel.
