What happened?!
I’ve used this app for years without any problems. The last few months have been horrible. At one point every time I clicked a book the screen would go completely white and I’d have to close the app and reopen it (which also did not always work) in an attempt to gain access. While following their instructions & submitting screenshots (which went on for WEEKS), I had to repeat myself over and over and over again because they kept giving me the exact same “solutions” that did NOT work the first time. I’ve had to get my game over written twice, I’m being inhibited in using the app due to some update that hasn’t appeared. It takes forever to get to the bottom of every issue… they aren’t being very helpful and the last chat was literally this week and whoever was supposed to be helping me closed out the chat so that I couldn’t reply. The so called update that I’ve been waiting a good while for hasn’t appeared but the alert won’t let me access the books and they don’t even have an estimate for when I could or would actually have access to the update. I’m paying for a VIP membership and in the last few months I’ve hardly been able to use the app. This is bs. I just ended my subscription and unless some REAL changes are made I won’t be back.
Perfect Match is incredible
I’ve honestly never read a better story. It was incredible on the sci-fi, morality, and also romance sides. Unfortunately I couldn’t change outfits the whole time without paying a fortune. There should have at least been cheap alternatives of dresses and such for events. Plus the choice for diamond options came up at least three times in each chapter and they were typically 30 which was too many. Overall though, fantastic storyline. (Update: several years later - still remember this app. So sad to see it die by using AI. AI sucks!!! Hire artists with real skill!)

I don’t know what’s going on with this app . By far this is the best app ever or it used to be . Literally every month it’s an issue and I have to reach out for help . It’s not synchon iOS and android so when I pay on android it says I’m not a vip member on iOS . I’m so frustrated !!!! Please do better

I feel like the developers of the game now is only really thinking of profit then a players actual enjoyment in its experience. It feels like a cash grab to with Tain the audiences attention. Examples: -10 ads +1 daily with keys as well being 6 ads when originally it was a 100 ads for diamonds. I understand you want profit from the game no mistake in that but 10 ads is a joke to those who put so much into the stories that shaped this app. It was like a shock to me personally because what the hell no diamonds were gifted when I started fresh like it usually do and having to wait months to continue a story because I’m having to save up to afford the choices I make, which is depressing when you clearly could of changed it to 50 instead of 10. -Generative Ai it is killing me to be apart of this revolution that is taking over industries . I could say this to every app do not endorse something that is trending and damaging people’s livelihood . I want this game to come back it’s youth and it’s prime was comforting and right now the stories are depressing and feeling recycled and the MEN look constipated , where is the diversity because regardless of race they all look the same! I enjoy this game but these are things that need to be sorted out or else you lose the community that brought this game to its success and that is heartbreaking. I really would like to add if anyone is reading this from the team to write a well scripted story for a Desire & Decorum book 4 where there is growth in marriage hosting balls and such that is close enough to its history because I really enjoy that series then most and the three books with the constant drama and the Christmas book just felt too short for their story . P.S I love u choices but take some action on what people are saying because it’s becoming a problem iykwim

Used to a great app
I have been a fan of choices since I was a teenager, back then unfortunately I couldn’t buy any premium options so I had to make do with the free options but the app has always had great stories. Especially the one I’m in now, Scream For Me, I just had to write a review after reading this book because I just went on the app and saw there was a part 2!! Too excited!! I’m literally about to get the VIP just to read on! This is only one favorite though. My only issue was that in this book when you go to choose your character and look the hairstyle on the cover isn’t one of the options, I was disappointed but I chose another that I came to love! But really, been reading for years and still amazing, now I spend too much money on diamonds to binge read! But it’s worth it!! Please keep up the good work Choices team! Edit: I’ve changed my 4 star to 1 star, I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that a VIP story goes on hiatus right before the next scheduled update. No notices, no article, no explanation, no time frame given. It was the only reason I purchased the vip, but I tried to let it go in favor of reading something else in the meantime, but every story I went to because I liked the cover art, the available faces for the story didn’t even match the cover! What is wrong?? Nine of the old stories had this issue, the characters on the cover were the characters you were presented with to play in the book but not anymore. I went through too many stories with this problem
A longtime Choices user
I’ve had Choices installed for a while and throughly enjoyed it, but your current use of obvious AI for cover images is very disappointing. I’m not sure if you’re struggling with real artists to create cover art for you, but I much prefer your older stories which I know we’re hand-crafted by humans. I’m not sure if this review will ever be seen, but if so, please consider dropping the AI and switching back to real working artists. Thank you!
Disappointing Habits and END AI
I’ve been playing Pixelberry games since Surviving High School. I’ve been playing Choices since the app only had 3 stories. I rarely write reviews but I am REALLY disappointed in what I’m seeing lately. Something that always set Choices apart from apps like Episode is that it didn’t gatekeep chunks of story behind premium diamond choices. This is no longer the case. Newer books like Their Omega and Idol make it impossible to get to know the love interest and connect (or even experience the basic premise) without spending diamonds. I get it- you need to make money. You need us to buy diamonds in order to make money. But NO player is going to purchase every single premium choice in every book. We all have to “choose” which ones we feel are worth picking. So if we see that we have to buy every single Diamond option to complete the basic story or romance, then we’re not going to buy ANY of them. Because what’s the point? It’s extremely frustrating to have all of these little 8, 10, 12 Diamond options. Because at that point the app shouldn’t be called choices, it should be called paywall. The recent books have also been really sloppy in regards to correct gendering of characters and mc’s. Their Omega is only 8 chapters and yet I recall at least 2 instances of misgendering. I hope this doesn’t discourage you from making fewer male mc’s, because that’s what I play as when actually given the choice. Please pixelberry, this app is getting unbearable to play without dropping ridiculous amounts of cash on diamonds. This is bad for business in the long run. It’s not making me want to pay more to play, it’s making me want to quit altogether.
VIP Needs more
It’s a shame when your reading such a great story and for anything you need a lot of diamonds I’m a VIP member and truly believe we should be given more. I don’t think it’s fair that I have a subscription and then have to keep purchasing more diamonds just to unlock some scenes. I truly believe there should be more perks to I love this game but I think us VIP players should be valued a little more. I also tried to the rewards and they never worked or I would do them but never got the reward I’m upset about this. If this would change I would gladly change my review
one of the few games I’d recommend
The title pretty much sums it up, it’s one of the few games that I’d ever recommend to anyone, because it’s got something for everyone who enjoys reading. Unlocking chapters and the premium currency can be a bit of an issue, and the vip status is very expensive for a mobile game in my opinion, but you can earn some keys and premium currency every day through watching ads, and they do have a weekly, monthly and annual subscription option to cater to different budgets and for players to only get the subscription for as long as they’re going to make use out of it which I found a huge bonus. I would say that either lowering the premium currency options in the books or allowing you to watch enough ads to actually complete a chapter in a day would be better and still ensure that the companies profitable, but all in all, it’s actually worth the time and patience to play.

i really enjoy the new character styles in more recent stories like idol & love and layups. i hope you guys continue to use these styles in future. the options available in the blood bound stories are also nice looking. i would love a new story about being on a reality tv dating show like love island, or at the very least a remaster of america's most eligible. i've always wanted to play those stories but i can't handle how the characters look. i'm not a big fan of the specific set of character faces available in that story and sadly those are the faces available in most of the older stories so i have a hard time playing them. it would be nice to have more remasters of older stories how you guys did TCATF, which is an amazing story by the way. another thing, please change the app icon to something that isn't a couple kissing or whatever. my mom and nieces saw this on my phone and they're like ermmm what's that. i'm 22 but i still feel weird about it lol. or if we could have some different options in game to switch it to like how instagram allows you to pick from a few different color gradients for your app icon. yeah, i like this game i just wish some of the character options in older stories were updated or something.
Get back to yourselves! The AI stuff is killing my joy
Would love to read stories for another decade! The beautiful art, its diverse representation, and story telling is what made me love Choices all those years ago. It’s a shame that there’s been such a decline lately. Less Chapters are releasing for even VIP subscribers and the stories have suffered too. Hire back the humans and get them back to giving us the quality work your fans deserve. I’d love to subscribe again once there’s new books to read.
Downfall
It’s really unfortunate that this app has gone down hill. Starting stories then completely trashing the project because of layoffs is ridiculous. Using AI instead of original creators that built up your app is disappointing. As I’ve gone through recent reviews I have seen the same things. Decline in quality, increase in quantity, and decline in acknowledgement to the issues with their app. The copy and paste responses to negative reviews is also how you lose participants. We are looking for progress and to see that our concerns are being heard. This is just like the downfall of Lovestruck.

Declining quality
The overall quality of the books has really been declining since heavily leaning into using AI. It’s not just the visual content that has been lacking, but more recently it’s the storytelling as well. They have shifted to telling shorter stories, which makes it harder for readers to really connect with the story, characters, etc. I would advise avoiding this app and try “Love and Magic: Spellfyre.” This was created by the original creators of Choices. The storytelling is phenomenal, and the artwork is stunning.

So glad we got more horror stories loving terror great even tho I fell for the killer 😭 but I love to see the branching back out into different genres that have more substance and life can’t wait for more! Tho I do wish they had an ai free section since I don’t really enjoy those ones at all.
diminished quality with AI
i've been a choices player since the first few stories were crown & flame, most wanted, endless summer, and rules of engagement. i've grown up with this game which is why it's so disappointing to see the direction it appears to be taking. the quality of the writing (which i came to believe was always LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than other similar apps) has severely downgraded. i can barely get through books these days because they're just not interesting. there is no development outside of a love interest and it's caused every character in every book to feel flat and one-dimensional. the art has also plummeted in quality due to AI, and that's actually what moved me to finally write this review. from the cover art to the backgrounds to the characters and customization, AI is clearly a favorite tool. but the problem with AI is that you can always tell when a human didn't care enough to clean it up. lines that don't quite line up, exaggerated facial expressions, and illegible nonsense words on posters in the background. if it would cost you more time and effort to tidy up all the mistakes AI has made just so your game doesn't look soulless and sloppy, just go back to hiring real artists and real writers. seriously.
Cliffhangers
I have been a loyal user of the Choices app since it started in 2016. I have read and enjoyed so many great books on this app. I know there are people who complain about the changes, but honestly, I don’t mind them. It doesn’t bother me that the art styles have changed, or that we are getting smaller books instead of the usual 16 chapter books. What does frustrate me is the fact that TWO DIFFERENT BOOKS have now ended in a cliffhanger with no indication that we will get any closure to those stories. First Scream for Me and now Breaking Ice. It honestly makes me not want to read any new books that y’all put out in the future because what confidence do I have that they will have endings that actually complete the story. Why would I spend money on diamonds for those books?
Alpha and immortal desires series both amazing among others
This is coming from someone who was never interested in reading, i was scrolling through facebook and found part of one, i started reading then it came to a stop, i then downloaded the app as for the first time ever i was curious to see what happened next, 6 years later and vip membership later and still going strong, always great to read and o get hooked, love how you can change the books and characters fates, you get gems all the time to, and daily gems, some choices are a little expensive but you get what you give and it makes the book interesting! Cant wait to lose many more
Barely any vip stories yet vip is still same price
Used to love this app and payed extra for VIP access to new stories. For the past few months the app has gone very down hill. Theres maybe 1-2 (if your lucky most of the times its just 1) vip story released. So half the tome you are paying 15 a month snd not even getting new material. Not worth the money and more. And on the rare occasion its more than 1, they will only release a couple of episodes and then stop the story. Idk why they changed how the app was putting out good content frequently but they need to fix it asap. Ive cancelled my subscription and deleting the app
Choices ! Sneaky way to avoid paying out rewards!!
I love this App and the stories are great however I’ve noticed something sneaky lately with some of their new books and the rewards for finishing a book for the first time. Apparently you can’t collect the 15 diamond reward if you didn’t read 15 or 16 chapters to finish the book.. even though the reward doesn’t say that.. it’s true. I read a book called Promise of Forever.. it has 2 books and the second one is a continuation of the first that ended on a cliff hanger. Both books are 4 chapters each and the second one wraps up the story. No reward comes for finishing these books. I find it sneaky that they did this as it appears they are trying to keep us from getting rewards from new books. If that’s the case then they need to change the reward description or give us the reward for finishing a book for the first time as the reward states.
Game is not the same
I used to love this game as a teenager and occasionally come back for a story. The style has absolutely changed, the books are longer the backgrounds are getting less detailed and the characters now look cartoonish and less unique. I loved this game because the stories were good and had a developed set of characters (Ride or Die is a great example), now they lack depth and the storylines feel repetitive. I hope the developers decide to go back to classic Choices, make good stories again or even add on to some of the older series, it’s the nostalgia we crave.
Changes
Part of what attracted me to this app was that even without paying for certain choices you were able to still play the story. Now there have been changes that now you’re paying for more choices. The choices are already expensive not to mention we already only get 2 diamonds for every story we read unless we’re VIP. Then add on that we can only get 10 free diamonds a day in addition to how much buying diamonds costs it doesn’t seem worth it to read anything on here. Instead of ways to make the game more fun for users it seems like the game is only coming up with ways to squeeze more money out of the users.
Potential series
This game is great, but I was thinking maybe add a story or series that is inspired by Hollywood U?
Sadden me that They opt for AI
Using AI to save money on actual artist, story writers, and employee?? Such a cheap move that destroyed the once used to be greatness of this app. Their arts used to have its charms, even tho I complained that they need more variety in avatars. This is so bad. I come badk after a longgg break, and saw the arts, I was so surprised.... When I was still using it, they stopped doing actions and horrors, but they still produced human made stories.... I only keep it to reread gems like Endless Summer, Hero, It Lives series.
I recommend even though its not perfect
It’s age rating is 16+ but on the app mostly all the stories have an age rating there are 12+ 18+ 16+ so I depends on which stories but I think the age rating of overall app is misleading since the are 12+ stories like I said. But I think it’s a good game definitely worth getting and I like how you can watch ads to get diamonds but apart from that there are no ads which is great. I do think it’s overall good game and in my opinion better that most other games like episode. Hope you enjoy it it worth checking out :) it may be not the perfect game but it pretty close!
Lost value
I was a follower of this app’s development from the very first stories and I can say I’ve see the quality improv and fall over time. This year I got back into playing regularly and noted the quality had changed again. Holes in the story or just a slop ending. The membership is no longer worth it. RIP to choices

There’s a bug that won’t let me go on the app it’s saying there’s an update then it shuts down

Such a downfall.
I used to adore this app because while corny, it definitely had a few gems that I loved so much. They felt real, they immersed me into the story and stayed entertaining with incredible art. Unfortunately… they’ve been embarrassingly, and pathetically obsessed with ai recently. Basically entirely dependent on it now. The ai short stories felt humiliating to see, and now they’re releasing actual books with just a bunch of ai “art”… wouldn’t be shocked at all if the actual writing was all ai too. It’s sad to see that all they release are heavily romance books now, they used to have more action ones… and the extreme lack of horror is saddening. The new stories are all predictable, overpriced (gem wise) slop both in story writing and art. Disappointing.
Declining
I am obsessed with this game and I’ve been playing for years now! It’s incredible!! The stories are awesome and there’s so much diversity and lgbtq+ representation! And so many choices, you can really make the story yours! I would like to add that over the years it has deteriorated and become more about smut than actual quality stories. I’ve even noticed some spelling errors, so I don’t understand the lack of care that’s happening for the writing. I also think that £15 a month subscription is a ridiculous amount to pay every month, it adds up to £180 a year which is a mad price for a game, I would be happy to pay a subscription if it was considerably less but £15 is a rip off.
Downgrade
Been playing for years. Loved the stories. Freshman series. Queen B. The crown and the flame. Very good books. Now the new book quality has been getting worse. What used to be max 16 chapters a book is now 6 chapters. I dislike how small the chapters are. How expensive the choices are. And lack of characters?? What happened to multiple Love Interests?? I think it’s not long before I cancel my membership

Stop with the AI
I used to be a really big fan of the games and the stories but now with the artwork and stories really leaning into AI, it’s super disappointing to see how much they’ve lost their authenticity and charm. Once I actually realized how much AI was being used I went ahead and cancelled my VIP. I understand that there are budgetary constraints but making each story soulless is not the way to handle it. What makes it worse is they have the option to just reuse old artwork and character designs, but they continue to spit out AI slop. They’re fully aware their fanbase hates it and they could not care less. Spend your time and money with a better game.
Y’all need to increase the amount of keys
Honestly you guys should increase the amount of keys in general from 2 to like 5 and you should increase the number of ads which allow us to get keys.
This is BAD now
No one likes the AI and clear cash grabbing. It’s becoming increasingly hard to get diamonds because the 100 ads have been dropped to 10 ads a day, you only get the 15 diamonds for the first time you complete a story instead of every time you complete it now, there’s been no events to get diamonds (at least the last couple months I played for), no free passes to read a story without keys, it’s all obvious cash grabbing and manipulating people to pay money for diamonds and keys. I, and most others i talk to about choices, don’t enjoy playing new stories because it’s such a chore to play when spending 15-30 diamonds multiple times a chapter to barely get any back ever. The AI sprites are ugly as well, and everywhere I look, people are complaining about them. It’s lazy and makes the quality of the game so much worse.
Disappointing
I have played this game for almost ten years and I love replaying my favourite stories. However, thats the issue, the new books are terrible and borderline unreadable. The use of ai is genuinely destroying this app, and I can say that as someone who has been here since the beginning. It’s really disappointing. On top of that, I find the new books incredibly repetitive; I think they need to go back to their roots and STOP USING AI. The ai really takes you out of the story, it looks so so shoddy and pales in comparison to that of earlier books. P.S- please make a sequel to ‘wake the dead’ (without ai)

Lost the plot
Choices used to be amazing but is now pure garbage. I have been playing for years now and it has declined dramatically. Every book is AI generated slop and/or hyper sexualized. Not everything you read needs to be smut. If you’re going to write smut, make sure it’s good. All of the new books that are coming out are short and poorly written. I do not think the creators of this app or is staff care about quality. The stories used to be so entertaining and original. For the past two years, they have released new books that are just the same plot as their old books. The creativity and care has disappeared. It’s truly a pity.
Constant Sound Issues
Fantastic app, brilliant stories. Cannot get enough of it. But every single time you watch an advert, the app mutes itself afterwards, resetting the audio in-app doesn’t help and even restarting the app doesn’t always fix it. Sometimes you have to restart multiple times. Unclear whether this is an issue with this app, or iOS app incompatibility…
What up with the AI
I literally gasped when hero got a sequel and it’s just an AI series with no actual choices. Yikes. The AI slop needs to stop. I’ll just finish the old books I guess

All the books are the same story line now. We need new books with variety, change the story up, put some weird stuff in there, make it more realistic. Also, stop making new books and finish the old ones like Open Heart and Big Sky Country, Foreign Affairs. The older stories were the best let’s go back to that

Why Ai ?
I LOVED this game years ago. The art, the music, the gameplay, the EXCELLENT writing, all of it! I absolutely adored this game, for its originality and great stories. I have just recently re-downloaded the app, and I am VERY dissatisfied and disappointed with this game. Why do you guys use Ai? Why? So you can turn out new books without putting in the hard work and putting in precious time and effort? The best thing about these types of games are the creative singularity of each story and every character. Now you have abandoned that all for the sake of more money and wasteful means. Dishonorable. The new stories coming out are horrible. No fun, no uniqueness, no good story. It’s obvious when people use Ai and no good thing has ever come from it. I can’t believe you would put down humanity to create slop like this. It doesn’t matter if you are using Ai for one thing or all of it. It. All. Matters. Do the research, Ai is DESTROYING humanity and the earth as we speak. Data centers, wasting electricity and watts, contaminating the oceans and landfills. As long as this continues, may you not receive genuine support from humans or rest in the true beauty of art. Please change and go back to using real people to create real stories. Please.

Superb to subpar to smut
I’ve been playing this game since it was Centerscore (2007). When technology shifted years ago, the game improved tremendously. The writing, graphics, and genre diversity were unmatched. Now, everything is cliche, low tier, and superficial. I stopped paying for the subscription when every storyline adopted the same predictable and unrealistic pattern. The story lines are marketed as “romance” but really it’s just sex driven. Character development is nonexistent. The story lines involving people of color went from being nonexistent to acceptable to straight up stereotypical. Everything has been going downhill since they fired half of their writers during covid. If you like the run-of-the-mill smut that’s on other platforms, you’ll enjoy the new direction. If you require substance, play the original stories and then delete the app.
