I haven’t used the app and it’s been awhile since I’ve been in the dating scene and I don’t know all the features that are in the app and I have only been swiping with the daily guys for now.
Full of Fakes
This is my first review of an app ever. I have used this app off and on again for 6+ years. I keep going back because I think “maybe it changed or got better”, it never has. This app has more catfish than a pond. 9/10 people on here are fake. The other 1 might be real, but will waste your time in other and arguably worse ways. A simple solution would be implementing user verification or something; like a “Live Photo” thing or “do this pose.” I have yet to see something like that. Ultimately majority of the people and bots on here are out to wast your time or worse. Will I keep using this place? Probably, until I find someone on here or more likely somewhere else. Would I recommend this app to anyone? Absolutely not in its current or past states. On a more personal note, this app has singlehandedly led to the worst people and “people” in my life. Keep hoping that will change.

Notifications have been broken for a while and it seems updates to this app have stopped? Unfortunate.

I’ve given this app a shot pver 5 times since 2016 and have had nothing but negative experiences. Few active users, many inactive profiles, its a ghost town which renders this app useless.

They need to perfect their way of communication with this app. All my notifications are turned on and I’m not getting notified when some of these sends me a message. This app needs to be fixed or I’m gonna delete it. What’s the purpose if I can’t get notified when I get a message. I am not gonna be opening this app every day just to look for messages. Come on guys get it together get with the program all the rest of them out there give you badges when you have a message.

After sign up and log in, the app does not go past the "Looking for Bros..." splash. It's just stuck there with floating red cups.

Bro app is a scam
UPDATE: 10/1/24 Opened Bro app to find my inbox was completely empty. All messages have been deleted… Review: 9/11/24 Canceled my membership. Done paying Scott Kutler’s salary. Bro used to be $3.99 a month. Now it’s $9.99 a month for seemingly no reason. Grindr, Scruff, and even Daddyhunt all have actual users (not bots) and a team that actually responds to help requests and inquiries. $9.99 a month for an app that hasn’t been updated in over a year. $9.99 a month. Not a single bug fix in over a year. And there are a LOT of bugs to fix. $9.99 a month for bots and spam accounts to operate unchecked. $9.99 a month for an app that hasn’t had any updates to it’s features since I downloaded it in 2017. $9.99 a month for… what? What exactly are we paying for? An increase of $6.00 for Scott Kutler’s wallet. That’s all.

False advertisement
The app bio states that it is not about labelling but yet has its own classification system, creating labels such as brogamer or hipster bro. This app is just like any other on the market except this one resembles other social networking/dating apps like Tinder and Surge.

Potential But A Ways To Go
This is basically Scruff and Tinder merged for blokes only. Whilst Bro stipulates that its point of difference is a lack of 'labels' surrounding its use (ie. it doesn't market itself as a 'gay' app). The developers would be wise to be consistent with this ideology and avoid "Bro Types" with phrases like "casual bro", "athletic bro" and "lumber bro" altogether. I find these terms similar to labels like "bear", "otter", "geek" etc. which are one dimensional ways to describe yourself or another person. Bro does use targeted questions for blokes to use in their profiles which can lead to some creative answers and is quite refreshing. Its interface is light hearted and a lot less dubious than the likes of scruff and grindr. Somehow, you don't feel like your surfing a seedy hooks ups page when using it.

The app almost never opens. It appears for a second then closes out. When it does open, messages are disappearing. This has been an issue for so long.
Claims to be new but over 5 years old
Looks good in principle, but seems to be another money grabbing app tbh ... after signing up your then asked about the free trail which needs a credit card details and payment of 1 month at £5.99 (weird free trial) besides most hate giving such details to apps/sites they’ve never tried!! And the head line of NEW on the social media scene is 5 years out of date at it was developed in 2015 by your own admission in the App Store, simple update needed

This app does nothing to verify that people can’t make a fake account. There is no type of verification when you set up an account, so if you’re talking to anyone on this app, PLEASE do a reverse google image search because likely they are not who they appear to be.

No one responds to a fist bump. Few locals in San Francisco. But the worst is I messaged someone hello and then I was banned from the app. I emailed and got no response from the administrators. I swear I used no vulgar or suggestive language. Just hello how are you. Makes Grindr look like a nice app.

I think that means the free trial costs a pound IF you dont remember, which is always what people expect, to cancel it before it starts. But to give it a different price is taking the p*** frankly!

Currently looking for JUST friends as I am in a long term relationship and don't get much chance to meet new people. In principle like the app and guy's don't look like the usual Grindr guys. However, it would be nice if I can see more about the guys under the Daily Bros so I am not judging them for looks and I can see who else is interested in JUST friends and whether we have similar interests. Great to hear this is coming from the Bro team. Be careful how you sign in either do phone or Facebook not both otherwise you set up two accounts. Took me a while to realise and caused loads of confusion!
