Not Playable
I have 1-9 final fantasy on my m3 iPad Pro. This game is not playable for me. I use a Bluetooth controller because who wants to hold a big iPad. The buttons are so sensitive, a single press will push the button multiple times rapidly. There are other reports of this issue over a year ago and it is not fixed. I feel cheated out of my money and I do not believe the developer cares,about the quality of this product. Look at the review score.
Chocobo Hot Cold
Why is the game so unbelievably unforgiving in regards to this game. KWEHHH over the patch of the smallest ground but like nah you ain’t close…miss actual controller
Great nostalgia, but mobile remote controls make it frustrating
Playing FF9 on the phone has been fun for nostalgia, but the controls with a remote are pretty frustrating. When I try to purchase items, it sometimes auto-clicks and keeps buying without me intending to, or the cursor won’t stay in one place. The buttons feel like they have a mind of their own, which makes shopping and menu navigation really annoying. I honestly think the game would be more enjoyable if there were an optional mode that gives access to all items, especially for mobile players dealing with control glitches. It would make the experience smoother and less stressful.
close to perfect but controller doesnt work
if you try to play the game with a controller it has turbo on for everything and is very buggy youre better off just using the touchscreen but you cant do that if you airplay to the tv
Supports background audio, FF, updated perks etc..
First off, thank you for supporting background audio from other sources. That’s so essential. Plus the perks that make it playable as an easy pickup / put-down experience on mobile - FF, autosave, 9999, etc…

Mega Game
Sehr gutes Spiel. Funktioniert wie vor 20 Jahren. Ein Stern Abzug weil ich beim Laden des Spielstandes immer wieder aus dem Spiel fliege und so nicht mehr weiterspielen kann.
Unplayable
Game ran rather well on the iPhone 14, I am half way through the game and now every time I go load my save the game closes. Waste of time and effort, unplayable now.

Incredible game and port
Played this all the way through for another round of IX and because the fast forward features I was able to get through it and beat Ozma in 40 hours. Only bummer was when upgrading my iPhone I lost that file. Love this game though 10/10

One of the titels, which goes back to the roots of the series. Unfortunately the game is in a „broken“ state. Videosequences are stuttery and run partly without sound. Please fix that performanceissue. I run this game on my iPhone-16 and I doubt, the issue is resulting from a lack of performance. Please fix this! <3
Double input with controller
Playing the game with a controller you’ll get double inputs every time you press the select button. Forcing you to play with the touchscreen. Otherwise great game. Please fix.
iPhone 16 Sound Absturz
Auf mein iPhone 16 hat er Probleme mit den Sound wenn ich das Spiel starte geht im Start Bildschirm die Musik aus und denn während das spielen kommt gar nichts mehr.. mit ein aktuellen Update wäre dies wahrscheinlich behoben..
The game works just fine
I don’t know why people say that the game doesn’t work at all. It works just fine. Sure it crashes but it only crashed once for me. Maybe you just have no play on an Older model of iPhone (I use iPhone XS Max) all in all great game. Probably my favorite final fantasy

The game itself is definitely 5 star. But this app constantly crashes when trying to load a save point. So unless you’re gonna play and beat it in one sitting can’t really progress and play the game.
Fun game, too many crashes
The game now crashes when I select Continue from the main menu, AND when I try to Load my save data. (The save data was working, but now crashes the game, trying to load Slot 1:3) The controls are a bit wanting too… it is far too easy to accidentally select an opponents card to take at the end of a match when trying to view the cards to see which one you want. EDIT: After loading other save files (slot 1 file 02) and scrolling the list, I finally got slot 2 file 03 to load, then immediately saved to slot 1 file 04 to see if a backup helps when trying to load a save file later. Before finally loading, the game crashed several times (~5-6 times)
Frequent crashes
Game plays well, however often crashes when loading a game.
Consistent tapping of the button while using any Bluetooth gaming remote.
Frequent and consistent button pressing happens whenever the button on a Bluetooth gaming remote is either held down or simply pressed. It greatly hinders my gaming experience with the Bluetooth remote, and it becomes quite bothersome. I truly hope that this issue can be resolved so that users won't have to resort to using the remote on their phone screen. Besides that, i love the game.

Zuerst für alle die Probleme beim Spiel laden haben: Wenn die Anwendung gestartet wird und sofort auf weiter oder Spiel laden gedrückt wird, stürzt das Spiel ab. Ihr müsst im Titelscreen eine oder zwei Minuten warten und dann erst das Spiel laden. Dann startet das Spiel ohne Probleme. Zum Spiel: Dies ist eines der besten, wenn nicht sogar das Beste Final Fantasy alter Schule. Die Story ist Top, die Charaktere abwechslungsreich und die Grafik ist für ein PS1 Titel Bombe. Das einzige, was mich an der App stört ist die Steuerung. Auf meinem Gerät habe ich rechts und links einen breiten Rand und ich würde es besser finden, dort die Knöpfe eingeblendet zu lassen oder zumindest eine Option dafür zu haben nicht immer auf dem Spielbereich rum tippen zu müssen.
Game Crashes
Excellent gameplay, it crashes when you get into battles and (certainly worse) when you try to load a save. You can lose an incredible amount of grinding and farming this way. Please make an autosave feature or fix the crash bug. You’re SquareEnix not some two-bit offshore one-man game dev. Do better.
Could be a mobile masterpiece.
The game is top notch—just as magnificent as the original (with beautiful enhancements). Unfortunately, the game crashes when trying to load a save almost 80% of the time. Often, you’ll find yourself avoiding it altogether due to the frustration of not being able to reliably access the save file which houses your hours of play. If this bug were fixed, the game would easily earn a 5 star rating.

Crash after crash
Can’t continue my game, started crashing after some time playing and I tried starting a new game and it worked for a couple of days, no it’s crashing every time I hit the continue bottom and closes itself …great game but very bad bugs that make it crash.

Paid £20 for this as I never really got into this game as I absolutely loved 7, 8 go to load or continue and the app just closes, this is ridiculous.
Please Fix
I love this game. But after the iOS 18 update the sound stops after loading a save file with occasional crash. Please fix, I miss playing one of my favorite games at my leisure when I’m bored, waiting somewhere, or when I just want to hear the music.

Das Spiel ist der Hammer… Für mich der Beste Teil der Reihe. Das Spiel wurde super umgesetzt. Leider gibt es eine Sache die mich stört. Man kann leider nicht wie bei Teil 8 die Buttons unsichtbar machen. Ich spiele beide Teile mit Xbox Controller und bei Teil 8 werden die ausgeblendet, so dass das Handy nur als Bildschirm dient. Bei diesem Teil geht es leider nicht. Ich würde mich freuen, wenn das noch nach gepatcht wird.

The game is great. It is incredibly annoying how you have to press buttons If using a game controller like a backbone. It’s like infinite presses. Doubt they will ever update. It’s alright to play with touch controls. But then what’s the point of allowing it to connect to a game pad? Plz fix 😭

Pretty good port!
From a performance standpoint this port is excellent! However there are a few things I’m disappointed with. The game isnt “Full” full screen. There are black borders around the game. Its not a big deal breaker but I don't see why they are there to start with. Also there isn't controller support. The touch controls are fine and serviceable but FF8HD has controller but not this? An enhancement I would have liked to see is a fast forward option. I feel the whole loading the battles and waiting to fight takes too long. It could be at least 10 seconds per battle just waiting.

Easily a 5 star game and the port is great. Unfortunately it’s all for not because the game breaking bug on load hasn’t been fixed. Two stars is generous for a game that doesn’t work 80% of the time.

I think its something to do with the game center. Not sure but i have to open the game, load my game, crash, then repeat till it works.
Disable Do Not Disturb for audio
Finally figured out this is the only game where having the do jot disturb mode switch in the side of the iPhone switched on results in the game not having audio.
Disappointing glitches ruin a good classic
I love this game but this port of it is absolutely dreadful The visuals are improved from the original - but there are so many glitches with this version that ruin it. It regularly crashes during gameplay and if you haven’t saved your game you’ll lose your progress There’s also problems with the sound, it cuts out randomly and you have to scroll off the app and back on to get it running again. There’s also issues when you try loading the game. Everytime I try log onto my game, it will show the loading bar, then when the loading bar fills it will just crash completely and need totally rebooting. It takes around four or five attempts to get it to boot up and stay open. It’s very disappointing overall. I’m a huge fan of Final Fantasy and the soundtracks are a big part of why I love the games but when there’s so many issues getting sound to play or when the game randomly crashes deleting your progress if you’ve not saved - it’s totally ruined a good classic. I hope that the developers will fix these issues as it’s what they do for a game that doesn’t work properly

Wunderschönes Spiel, aber stürzt leider ziemlich häufig ab. Vor allem wenn man gespeicherte Spielstände laden möchte. So hab ich schon mal die ein oder andere Stunde Gameplay verloren!

Note: seems to be fixed. Thank you 15 Hours into the Game and while at the Treno Card tournament the Game crashed. Loading the save game and continue game resulted in a crash. Tried to upload the save game to the cloud and reinstall. But downloading my save game is not working. Nothing on the selection screen is clickable.
