Positive creative inspiration & support!
I’ve never been on such a positive social media app as the Zentangle Mosaic app. ALL comments are kind and supportive. Zentangle folks support good mental health so it’s no surprise that the positivity seeps into all they do. And the inspiration is more than I can explain! But since the app is free to explore I suggest you check it out! But don’t hesitate to subscribe because once you do and upload your own art, you’ll be awash with sincere and enthusiastic support.
Is this app being supported?
There seems to be no way to update login info. The app thinks the info I entered is incorrect on my new phone, and offers no options to change that. Also, I sent an inquiry to support before the new phone and received no replay. The last update was a year ago. I will not be renewing the subscription. Previous: Since it is image intense, I don't think I'll use this on my iPhone. Every Zentangle is so tiny--about 2"x2" and "enlarging" with the paid version would only show part of the images. It downloaded to my iPad but it doesn't scale so every line is jagged and it doesn't change orientation. It acts like an old, outdated app. Also, the antique paper look makes the phone appear to need cleaning. I'm not inclined to pay for the pricey upgrade as it is. Good idea, otherwise.
Need some help
I stopped using and deleted the app awhile ago, but now I want on. However, I cannot figure out how to get re-subscribed. The app remembers me from my email address, but I can’t get on and don’t remember my old password. Please help.
No sound
I can see the KTT videos but there is no sound with them. I like the rest of the app fine but I agree it’s expensive for what you are getting.
Can’t tell if it’s slow or not registering my tap
I started tangling a bit ago and registered on the app. Seeing other work for inspiration is great. I’ve hesitated getting a subscription because when I hit the back or menu button in the upper left nothing happens 80% of the time. I can’t tell if it’s slow or if it is not registering my tap. I have an iPhone 17 so the “buttons” are on top of the time display on my screen. With the interface being a little janky, it would probably be frustrating if I was trying to accomplish something rather than just scrolling for fun. I’ll keep checking back to see if they give this basic app some polish.
Great App
I recommend the $25/yr version - it is SOO GREAT for those wanting to learn Zentangle! Love all the content and links to practice videos! Love it!
Worthless
I was curious about this app but after loading I found it disappointing. You can only browse other people’s Tangles. You MUST pay and subscribe to use any of the functions. No point to down load it. Creators should just be HONEST and make it a paid app. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Lovely App, needs a few small changes
While I feel that the subscription price is a bit high, I really am loving this app! Sooo much inspiration! One small change, though. The Waterfall Square and the Back Arrow at the top are too close together. I've hit the Waterfall too many time when I've been trying to hit the Back Arrow. This has been rather frustrating, especially if I've been doing a search for something specific, looked at a tile, and then tried to go back to my search. And speaking of searches, would you, please, either move the search button up or add one after the keyword/hashtag line? This would make things easier when searching while only using a keyword/hashtag.
Price tag is really $24.99
This app has very little functionality unless you become a subscriber for $2.99 pm or $24.99 per annum.

Must have if you want to get serious about Zentangle
If you want tangle stepouts, this isn’t the app for you. There are several other apps with way more tangles. Tons of YouTube videos. Etc. And let’s be honest. If you think $25 a year is steep, you’re not serious about Zentangle, because you are going to be spending that much a month on good tiles and pens. The only reason you would want to get this app is 1) if you have fallen in love with the Zentangle Method 2)want to be part of a community of other tanglers around the world 3)want to share your work with others and get feedback and encouragement from CZTs (certified zentangle teachers) and Zentangle luminaries like Maria and Molly. There are more reasons it’s worth $25 a year, but you get the idea. If you are serious about Zentangle, the $25 a year you’ll spend for this app will pay dividends and make your zentangle practice more rewarding and fun.
Useless unless you pay
Literally every feature is behind pay wall. Uninstalling.
Wonderful app
I personally love the zentangle Mosaic app. The interface is pretty basic but the content is what you're there for. However, mot much you can do before subscribing. However, once paid, I love the fact that you can message, appreciate, and see so much more. My suggestions: make it clearer how to have subscription auto renew (a tutorial would have saved me much time googling), include a way to delete notifications once read, a free trial (for maybe a few weeks for those not sure like me), and perhaps just go back in and fix glitches and bugs. Otherwise a wonderful, useful and interesting app.

Bat really good
Zentangle praise and question.
I very much enjoy this app! I’m wondering if it is possible to give a gift subscription to someone?
Free version is non-functional
I read about the free app, but it offers very little without a subscription. You can get more information via Google and Pintrest than with this free app.
Beautiful but...
The subscription price is WAY too expensive. I would definitely subscribe if it was $0.99/month.
My Favorite App!
This is my favorite app on my phone! The subscription is way more than worth the price. I get to see many different drawings of tangles I’m struggling with, then can message the artists to find out how they made this or what tips they have for that. Uploading pictures of my tiles is easy and so worth the feedback from other tanglers. If I could fix anything, I’d like the #’s & @‘s to read more easily. The light blue type on a tan background doesn’t work well together with my eyes. I’d rather see a black type/underlined link any day. Favorite app, but would like an easier time reading... oh, & typing comments would be so much greater if I could read more than 2-3 tiny lines at once. Keep up the great work, Zentangle, Inc. I’m CZT bound... someday soon I hope!
Unless you subscribe theres nothing for you
Unless I missed it, there’s nothing you can do with this app unless you subscribe. So unless you are subscribing there’s no reason to download the app!

Very Good
If you enjoy the art of Zentangle then you should get this app immediatley! For a small fee you are gaining access to a community of artists who are so friendly, encouraging and talented! I am so glad I found it 🙂. Also the app is stable and user friendly. What more can I say?
Just a waste of time and money.
Unless you want to spend $25.00 to have access to 25 Tangles You are only going to see tiny tangled squares rotate automatically so quickly you miss most of them. What I don’t get is why anyone would pay to see “their official Tangles”, but when you upload any you drew they don’t have to pay you? As a matter of fact if you upload your work you are giving the the right to copy it, use it and keep it! No thanks just to shady for me.
Installed de ipad version and cant login anymore
I used the iphone app first and enjoyed it, after the newsletter I followed instructions and deleted the iphone app to install the ipad app. Now I can't log in anymore. Since I requested a new password which never arrived in my mailbox I can not log in to the iphone app anymore either. This realy is a bummer
So much more than just patterns!
I love this app! It's about sharing, inspiration, and community. The small yearly charge means no ads, no selling of data, and continued added resources for this gem of an app. I recommend it to anyone seriously interested in the Zentangle Method!
Auto Renewing - Beware
Difficult to find how to adjust - or cancel- the automatically renewing subscription. So I am changed and changed and charged .....
Nice, but not for the price
I like the idea of a moderated Zentangle site. Other sites have a lot of stuff that just ins’t a tangle, so I signed up. I like the interface even though it is a bit slow. I wanted to give the whole site a try so I paid my $2.99 and found that I just wasn’t using it enough for the price. I went to cancel my subscription and I needed to contact site support to stop payment. It is a nice idea, but if it costs that much to run the site without adds, I wish them good luck.
Inspiration & Connection
I'm a new CZT (24) and I find the app delightful, inspiring, and a good place for me to track the art and people I find inspiring. The cost seems minimal to me knowing that there aren't ads and they aren't selling my info. I do hope they add more step-outs because I love that feature of the app. It's a good way to stay connected to the Zentangle family. HQ is very active on the app and it's refreshing to visit a "place" where the only focus is Zentangle Art and a supportive community.
$25 later and VERY disappointed...
I love Zentangle, but save your money! I love the official merchandise and will only purchase from them, so I was incredibly excited when they created an app. After subscribing, I am beyond disappointed! I thought I'd get access to several tangles and how to create them, but you only have access to 24. Not worth it.
Beautiful, inspiring, approachable
I love to spend time perusing the work of others. Much of the work loaded to this app is from Certified Zentangle Teachers and the creators of the method. I love that the option exists to enjoy it advertisement free! The interaction between artists is exciting and the work is so inspiring. Clearly the bad reviewers missed the point of the app and perhaps enjoy ads and perhaps take themselves just a bit too seriously. Consider the fee as admission to an art museum! Enjoy the creative explosion of work found on this beautiful app. Love it!!
"Free" App Costs $25
Agree with the other reviewer: to actually use this app you have to subscribe for $25/year. Isn't that called "bait and switch"?
Great App!
Finally THE app for Zentangle Fans! Join the wonderful international zentangle community, search for your favorite tangles and artists, show your own Zentangle art and share with others even on Social Media if you like. You might find your next Zentangle teacher or tangle inspiration here in this app. Happy tangling!
Useless
Pretty much useless unless you pay money to "subscribe".
