Superb centrist news source
The reporters at TOI delve into a wide variety of issues, check out the facts before publishing, and don’t try to pass off editorials as independent news. It is a level of journalism we don’t see enough of these days.
Ads keep opening my browser
Many times when i open this app, it automatically opens my safari to virushunter.xyz. Makes it impossible to use your app with all of these auto redirects.
The times of Israel
Since I started paying the 6.00 dollars monthly, they’re no advs. and the reporting is excellent, as similar as Haaretz or the New York Times.
Very Biased
They obviously are anti Trump and very biased in their reporting to the left. Not fair and balanced. Way to many ads
I agree about annoyance to use TOI app
The “hijacking” of the TOI site by advertisers forcing you into their sites has gotten so bad and so frequent that ai have greatly reduced my readership. Too bad, because I really did like to read Times of Israel. With multiple complaints, I would have thought they would fix the problem. Sadly, it seems they are just letting these hijackings run wild.
$6 removes all ads
The App isn’t perfect, but pretty good. From the looks of it a webview, but it’s reasonably fast and intuitive. The app has received horrible ratings exclusively from people using it for free, just thought to add a different pov. $6 for ad-free access on web and mobile to a quality paper is worth every penny in my books. I’d usually give it 4 stars, but an extra star due to all the negative reviews.
Pay for ad-free experience? Not true!
The app keeps logging you out and ads keep coming back and full of little ads that you keep tripping on. Just compare to a WSJ App and you will understand what I am talking about
Stop pop up videos!
Really good and informative app. BUT…Whoever decided to pepper it with pop up apps whose motion cannot be stopped, needs to be replaced. Also, these videos, as mentioned here previously, are completely irrelevant to the article being read. Very annoying!
Joined the “community”
Straight up doesn’t work or change anything about using the app. You log in, go to an article to try to comment, and it says you need to login to comment. Clicked on the link to login and did, still nothing changes. You need to fix this garbage you haven’t had an update in MONTHS. Not a single available coder in Israel???
Please make TOI for iPad
How difficult could it be to make an iPad compatible version of TOI? It’s the 21st century here.
Great app
Great time catching up on Middle East news stoey
Impossible to use app
The news material is very interesting and informative. But the app itself has become impossible to use. You read an article for a ew seconds and then a blank gray screen appears and you can no longer read any articles. It’s extremely frustrating because the material itself is great. Before this issue videos would just pop up and start playing without you clicking on them. The developers really need to get their act together on this.
News great, app sub-par
I’ve paid for the ad free version for years. Most times the app doesn’t remember me and I have to sign in from scratch. I’ve contacted support several times and they’re completely unhelpful. For a country famous for tech, you’d think they’d have a decent app developer somewhere.
Spam ads!
I was finding this app so useful until it starting spamming my phone with ads that are impossible to remove. Please fix this, ASAP!
Excellent News App
I’m baffled by some of the negative reviews. I’ve used TOI app for awhile now and find it easier to navigate than most news apps. Excellent reporting and content.
App stinks, content good
This app stinks with constant ad’s and refreshing the page. I pay for a subscription too. Please fix it. The content is very good but it is painful to read.
Crappy app, but good content
This app has me cursing in frustration, it’s so bad. The quality of the content—straightforward news about Israel & the region—is high, however.
Constant Ads and Browser verifications
Lately I get pop up ads every time I change pages. Also I’m getting page verifications constantly and takes a long time even never before cloudfare is happy and opens the app. Very frustrating. I’m very pro-Israel but not so much on this app in it’s current state. As I write this review the app is stuck alternating between the ad and cloud fare but never opening up the news. Please fix.
The best coverage of Israel and the Jewish world
It’s a daily must for me - and the app works great. Join the Community to remove ads! Well worth it.
This app is now terrible
The app has become unusable now. It constantly requires me to verify whether I am human with a cloudflare captcha check box that repeates over and over again. There are many pop up adds, and the very worst issue is that the app automatically opens safari to view double click adverts forcing you to leave the app, this happens over and over again. The app is totally unusable now.
App on iPhone now goes directly to internet commercial without showing news articles.
FIX THE BUG!
Great content but too many glitches
There is great content on here, but there are many glitches in the app. For example, continuously there are issues where a video pops up or an advertisement as if you clicked on it, but you have not done so within an article. This is a relatively recent issue which I hope can be corrected.
Exceptional journalism and quality news
Interesting and informative news about Israel
Fix your app
I’m reading text and not even touching the screen and the app just switches me to safari to show ads repeatedly. When I close the safari app and switch back to TOI, I have to scroll all the way back to where I was in the article, only to be tossed backed into safari for an ad to open up.
Please improve this App
Not well behaved at all. App updates in the middle of reading a page and returns to the Home page which is often completely different. Also, of late, will jump out of the page I am reading into a web Ad - my fingers are nowhere near the screen. Please hire some teenage wiz kids - you have made it impossible to use your App.
Good reporting, bad app
You deliver good articles – great reporting. Your app however keeps crashing every couple of weeks, I then have to reinstall it (every couple of weeks) otherwise it doesn't function. Please fix this!
Use to be good
Now, ad pop ups every 30 seconds disrupt reading any article. I am deleting this app….do you read me TOI?
Needs some work
Content aside, this is a frustrating app to use. I have to login every time I use it, which as a paid subscriber is a pain, and I find when browsing the “front page”, and scroll down, it scrolls back to the top and I lose my place.
Pop up ad has destroyed this app!
It’s impossible to use this app because of a persistent pop-up ad about a christian - Jewish fellowship pin. Cannot proceed further. No choice but to delete the app. Sad! Don’t download this app.
Ad infestation using back button
Love ToI, but this app is a disaster needing immediate attention. Ads, some with sound, pop up when changing pages, and it’s sometimes impossible to get back to any content. Help!
Nonstop popup ads
App was fine before. Now it opens nonstop popup ads in the browser, even if you don’t click on anything. It’s truly nonstop: as soon as you return to TOI, it opens another. Makes the app literally unusable. Popup ads are also a security risk, proven by cybersecurity researchers, so this is unacceptable.
In the world of TVs this would be an old CRT
I thought this would configure on my iPad the way it does on my desktop, but it shows up in a small window on the screen. Even if I maximize it, it is still a partial window. Someone needs to recode this app. In the meantime, I am deleting it.
Practically useless app
The times of Israel is more interested in pop-up ads than they are in the news. From the moment you open the app the ads take over. What is the point of this news company? Deleting the app.
Ads are disruptive, popping up always
I love the content, but this has to be the most annoying app I’ve ever had, with constant pop up ads you have to click to make them disappear. I’m repeatedly interrupted when I try to read any article. Annoying!
