Viele gute Inhalte
Ich finde in ARD viele gute Inhalte, was ich aber richtig unübersichtlich finde ist die Programmübersicht. Auf einem Fernseher sehe ich max. 4 Sender nebeneinander und vertikal eine Stunde, das ist nicht sehr übersichtlich. Warum müssen das so riesige Blöcke sein? Das mag für ein Tablet gut sein, nicht aber für einen großen Bildschirm. Das gilt für Apple TV, wie auch für die TV-App.
Offline nur mit Konto :(
Es erscheint mir sinnbefreit, dass man heruntergeladene Inhalte nur mit einem Konto sehen kann. Insbesondere wenn das erst auffällt, wenn man bereits offline ist.
Merkliste
Sendungen die man sich merken möchte, werden als gemerkt markiert, werden aber nicht in der Merkliste angezeigt. Kennt man im Entwickler-Team keine automatisierten Tests?! So lassen sich solche Fehler vermeiden. Ich habe die App neuinstalliert. Obwohl das keine Rolle spielen sollte, bei richtiger Implementiert.

IOS 18.5, iPhone 13 App unreliable .
The app was good until recent update. It needs a software fix, but one which really works !!! App switching off in the middle of a movie, the fast forward/backward button doesn't work half of the time. Please fix it ASAP. It's not what it was before few months ago !

Ich habe die App sehr häufig zu Hause und im Wohnmobil auf meinem IPad genutzt. Bisher konnte ich die Bildqualität anpassen um den Datenverbrauch zu reduzieren, aber das ist aktuell nicht mehr möglich. Es ist nur noch „Auto“ möglich! Dabei ist es eine Datenverschwendung, die höchste Qualität auf einem ca. 11 Zoll großen Bildschirm aus zwei Meter Entfernung zu betrachten.
Offline funktion fehlerhaft
Inhaltlich Top. Die offline funktion ist allerdings sehr unzuverlässig. Filme werden teils nicht angezeigt obwohl sie im speicher liegen. Manchmal zeigt es sie nach dem man online gegangen ist an. Und das kann man ja in der regel nicht in den Situationen für die man diese funktion nutzen möchte.

In letzter Zeit hat man ständig nur dir Hörfassungen. Es kann doch heutzutage nicht so schwer sein, Leute mit genügend IT Wissen zu finden. Ich habe diese Probleme nicht mit dem ZDF
Eigentlich sehr gut
Warum eigentlich? Alle 3. Programme, 3Sat, Zusatzkanäle plus alle Sendungen als Stream an einem Ort. 👍🏽 Bei dem öffnen zeigt die App nicht das an, was aktuell läuft.... sondern irgendwas vergangenes. Weder Bild noch Text passt zum aktuellen Programm. Ich bin mir sicher das geht besser.
Es wäre so schön …
… wenn ich mich (via iPhone / 1PW) auf meinem AppleTV anmelden und gemerkte Filme, etc. auch synchronisieren könnte. Trotz Löschen der App und Neuinstallation auf der ATV sowie Aus- und wieder Einloggen in der iPhone-App (hier funktioniert alles) ist ein LogIn dort leider nicht möglich. :(

die ARD bekommt ihr Geld sowieso - warum sollte sie sich da um die Zuschauer bemühen? Die Inhalte werden hier lieblos zusammengestellt - Schauspieler, Regisseur, Produzent, Land nichts dergleichen wird angegeben. Man kann froh sein ein oder zwei Sätze zum Inhalt zu finden. Aber wenn man es nicht nötig hat, weil man sein Geld sowieso bekommt ...

App going crazy
Since yesterday almost all shows I have been watching are blocked, even the shows I watched half way through and wanting to finish watching! App is completely buggy right now! Doesn’t respond right. Frustrating! I usually enjoy this app and am happy to receive German Programming. But, anytime the app is updated or refigured, it will be buggy for days. I hope this can be addressed as soon as possible!!! Feb 18, 2024

Ja, ich finde die Mediathek sehr gut, leider sind die meisten Filme für mic in den USA lebend gesperrt, sehr ärgerlich, zumal ich mit zweitem Wohnsitz in Deutschland ordnungsgemäß meine Fernsehgebühren zahle. Nicht fair!!!

Zu viel gesperrt
Wenn man das App im Ausland benutzen will ( da man geschaeftlich viel Reise etc.) ist sehr viel inzwischen gesperrt. Schade
Unstabil
Leider nicht wirklich zuverlässig für iPhone und iPad. Bricht ständig ab, man kann weder vor noch zurücksetzen oder es einfach ausschalten. Nur kompletter Abbruch und Neustart von vorne funktioniert. Das müsste wirklich mal repariert werden. Erst seit kürzlichem Update so; vorher funktionierte es einwandfrei.

Wieder ein Update das nicht funzt…
Wieder ein up(down)date… Vorherige Version lief ok unter iOS 16.x auf älterem iPad. Warum man das kaputt bastelt, erschließt sich mir nicht. Schade, denn die Mediathek ist mir (und vermutlich vielen tausend anderen im Ausland lebenden Deutschen) ein äußerst wichtiger Verbindungspunkt in die Alte Heimat. Jetzt kann ich nicht mehr einloggen auf iPad. Aber auf iPhone iOS 18.2 und auf Chrome browser… nicht jedoch auf älterem iPad. Mehrmals installiert, password erneuert… nix. „Password und account Name stimmen nicht überein“… Unsinn. Dass ihr dass immer wieder kaput fummelt, ist mit ein Rätsel..

Letzte Update
Ich wohne in Florida USA. Seit der update bin ich nicht mehr in der Lage, ARD über Apple TV abzuspielen. Auf dem IPad habe ich keine Probleme. Ich hoffe das ist bald wieder resolved. Mit ZDF keine Probleme.
Holt die alte App zurück !
Die neue App hat soviel Fehler , daß man sie nicht alle auflisten kann. Wie kann man ein so fehlerhaftes und unfertiges System neu anbieten und damit ein perfekt funktionierendes altes System ersetzen ? Damit hat meine geliebte ARD ihr Brand beschädigt! Und dies in Corona Zeiten , wenn alle mehr Programme sehen wollen...... Der Verantwortliche sollte sofort entlassen werden !
Voice out of sync
I use the app a lot to watch German TV in the Uk. Sadly quite often there are glitches and the sound is not synchronised with the picture. Nothing more irritating when the sound comes a second too late. Unbearable to watch. Please fix this.
Keine klare Sprache
Ich bin Tatort Fan und lebe in den USA, weiß nicht ob das daran liegt aber viele Tatort Folgen sind garnicht in klarer Sprache abzurufen. Es ist immer mit Bildbeschreibung. Schade.
App stopped working
I am giving the app five stars because it has been working excellent and has been a source of valuable information and entertainment for at least three years now. However, five days ago the app stopped working when I was trying to stream a program to my Roku stick, using AirPlay. I have tried everything I can think of to get it to work, without success. My TV screen displays the message that my device is connected, but the program won’t play. The app had been working well on Roku for years without a problem. I can stream content from the ZDF Mediathek app, from YouTube and any other app that I have on my phone, iPad, and laptop, just this app won’t stream. I am pretty disappointed right now because watching German TV keeps me somewhat connected to my native language and culture. My wife and I have made it a habit to watch “Wer weiß denn sowas” and “Gefragt, Gejagt“ in the evening, which we can still do on our other devices, just not (on our Roku) on our TV. I think the problem must be with the app itself because as I mentioned earlier, all other apps work when I use AirPlay to stream them to the Roku on my TV.

Plötzlich Bildschirm schwarz und nur noch Ton? Erst dachte ich es liegt am Akku, aber der ist noch halb voll.
Where are the Vorrab videos
Used to watch episodes of shows for the next day, in the old app, now they don’t show up anymore. I can still see them on the regular Mediathek website.

Works fine on Apple devices, but why is the app not available for iPhone the Amazon firestick?

App hängt sofort im Ladebildschirm fest (Circle of Doom)
Direkt nachdem die App (auch erstmalig) gestartet wird hängt sie sich direkt im Startbildschirm der App auf. (ARD-Logo, blauer Hintergrund und der Ladekreisel dreht sich bis in die Unendlichkeit im Kreis.) Forced Neustart, App Neuinstallation lösen leider das Problem nicht. IPAD 6. Gen (MR7J2FD/A, 128GB, non-cellular, IOS 16.1.1) Bitte anschauen, Danke! :)
“Improved” app
Since the app has been improved I cannot finish watching any show like f ex Tatort. Very frustrating snd meaning that I will have to stop watching ARD all together. What a bad new app!!!
Could be better
With the previous Das Erste app, I really enjoyed watching the livestream of Das Erste, but now, I can watch the shows I like (mainly Gefragt-Gejagt), but the livestream no longer functions. On the old app, there used to be a popup when show was blocked outside of Germany (mainly with sport), and I feel this could happen again. I like this app, but it could definitely be improved.
caption issues
It seems to me that the app had been update recently and the caption is not showing anymore. Even streaming from iPad via apple the caption will not showing on tv.
Der erste Eindruck: Sexualisierung und Queer
Ich bin schockiert wie sexualisiert das deutsche Fernsehen geworden ist und damit auch noch geworben wird, als ob das normal wäre. Beim Überfliegen der App sieht man z.B. bei der Rubrik „Serien“ zwei küssende Männer; „Warum lohnt sich mutig sein Talk“ sind LBTQ+ Vertreter, wenn die App geöffnet wird schaut man direkt auf eine Zeichnung von einem fliegenden Penis „Servus Baby“… jedem das Seine, aber es ist wirklich unangenehm mit solchen Bildern bombardiert zu werden…finde ich sehr peinlich für den ARD!!!
Ist fast perfect
Hat fiele gut Sachen keine Werbung & kostenlos. Man muss sich ouch nicht anmelden. Man konnte die UI ein bisschen Lichter machen.
It was fine before changes
I live in the US and enjoyed watching German TV - up until the APP was ‘changed and improved’- the streaming now is very bad, unfortunately. Very disappointing, sometimes good things don’t need to be fixed!
Untertiteln funktionieren nicht (iOS/Chromecast)
Wenn ich ein Video von meinem iPad oder iPhone über Chromecast abspiele, funktionieren die Untertitel gar nicht.
Chromecast funktioniert nicht mehr
Abspielen über Chromecast funktioniert schon seit Monaten nicht mehr richtig. Ton ist gestört und dauernd laut-leise. Ich habe die Abspielqualität auf NIEDRIG geändert, wie vorgeschlagen, dann kann man gar nicht mehr abspielen. ZDF Mediathek funktioniert einwandfrei, daher scheint es eher nicht meine Hardware/Software zu sein. Sehr frustrierend!

This app crashes a lot. I’m glad that I didn’t have to pay money for it. Pity.
Airplay crashes
When I AirPlay a video and the screen goes to sleep the video goes off and reverts to an earlier video. The only way to avoid this is to quit the app and restart, and make sure only to play the video one wants to watch. This bug has plagued this app for years, earlier versions were also affected. Please fix it already!
