VERO reviews
4.0 out of 5, based on 5,798 reviews.
What people like
- Completely free from ads and algorithms.
- Clean design perfect for photographers.
- Never crashes and shows what you want.
- Best alternative to Instagram for creators.
What they complain about
- Zero engagement makes you feel ignored.
- No web version or search function.
- Privacy concerns with unwanted video calls.
- App crashes and won't load images.
Way better than instagram
It has photographers on the platform that are really good
No art
Unless you’re into photography and anime don’t bother
Need advertising
I don’t understand how this app isn’t pulling ahead of Instagram. It’s so well put together. Need to advertise or something to get into more hands.
Invasive
Seems like a good idea but while I was signing up it asked for my phone number so “people can connect with you.” But I don’t want connection by strangers being able to video call me. That seems ridiculously invasive. This app was supposed to have better privacy features. Reading other reviews, seems like people can video call you by just following you. Gross. You’re not going to find many women who will be happy with this. I guess I’ll continue to look for a different alternative to Instagram…
No search function.
There is no search function. Would like to see this so I can specifically search for people, companies, specific hobbies.
Perfect
Perfect alternative to Instagram… no muss no fuss. As a hobby photographer I love it.
ai slop
started leaving the popular social media apps cause i'm tired of ai, didn't expect this one to be flooded with it too. disgusting.
Good but missing interactions
VERO has a lot of potential for an artists specific social app but I think so many artists are clinging to horrible social apps still like Instagram, TikTok and X, it’s yet to get galleries, museums, artists , musicians , supporters/collectors interacting together.
No web site
Not being able to access Vero on the web makes this a really difficult platform for me to use or trust.
Top 1
Best app in the world
App no longer works….
App no longer loads hashtag search results or any images at all. Just get a blank screen and an endless spinning icon. This is the latest update version…
Good start but needs work
Anything that’s not the combination view doesn’t load. Needs bug fix
Thanks
Has a few bugs but it is obvious they are always trying to improve for the user. Thanks
No longer working
The app no longer connects to any WiFi or internet. The app no longer works. And no fix has been made
Nobody
It’s ok but it could be more as regards user interface experience and engagement
The best app
No data mining , no manipulative algorithms
Won’t Load
The VERO app has recently stopped loading and drawing excessive battery power. A good app that is no longer usable.
Beautiful App!
This app is so underrated and in my opinion is better than any other social media app I’ve ever seen. it encompasses everything from Music to movies, to photos, to comment threads. My only issue is the engagement. I noticed that very few people comment or like peoples post. It’s very difficult to establish a social presence.
Good can be great
Love the app, been using to follow The Stradman on here, and wish whenever he uploads a photo, we would actually get a notification sent to our phone that he did. But besides that I’m really enjoying the app!
Bans Art
Your decision to ban posts, especially those that are artistic is arbitrary. Even Facebook doesn’t ban art.
Wonderful app
I love the vero app. it never crashes and always shows me what I actually want to see. The amount of things you can do on it is great from movie and music reviews, art, businesses and more. I also love that it’s ad free as well as algorithm free.
Rejected my phone #
I couldn’t sign up because every time I entered my phone number and pressed next, the app instantly said it couldn’t send the verification code. No one else seems to have trouble texting this number, including sending verification codes.
Best social ever!
Well as a person who wrote a book on technology and social media and lectured it, also provided social media services to various worldwide chain institutions I can say; THIS IS THE BEST SOCIAL MEDIA APP EVER. Sadly, people behave in the trendy frames and the app didn't get as popular as it should be. It is a sort of combination of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and hobby + movie recommending with good algorithms. I deeply thank the developers and wish the best of luck.
Another crypto scam
My absolute favorite alternative to IG. Their lack of pay-for-views algorithms and photographer-friendly content policies makes this THE BEST for creators. BUT I think you need to drop the video calls feature. It’s turning people off. Engagement is possible, but people absolutely stubbornly REFUSE to follow back. After a year I still have zero. ZERO followers at all. Maybe they’re afraid they will get spam calls? Update: It’s been another year. I love the way this app looks but I’m not seeing anything growing adapting or changing at all. What are these people trying to do? Update: Oh it’s a crypto scam! Of course! They just announced they’re going crypto.
Highly Recommend!
I’ve been using Vero nearly since its inception. It’s a wonderful space for people from all walks of life - musicians, photographers, farmers, etc. - to unite in communal expression of life. The best part: it’s ad-free and algorithm-free, which is a welcome breath of fresh air in our modern world. Highly recommend!
Trash
No one sees or likes anything I post. Socials like this got me feelin like a failure… if ppl hate my art, so be it, imma see myself out👋🏾 Thx for nuthin.
The best there is
This is, functionally, the best social networking app there is. The design is great too! Unmatched, in my opinion. The only problem is the user base seems small. The word needs to get out. I’ve been a member since the beginning, but have rarely posted, since I don’t know anyone on it. I’ll need an excuse to bring people I know over from the other 10 networks they’re already invested in and a part of.
No one follow VERO
No body follows VERO… zero
