Earplug reviews
4.2 out of 5, based on 111 reviews.
What people like
- Instantly starts playing noise with one tap
- Soothing sound helps you fall asleep fast
- Great for blocking out distracting background noises
What they complain about
- Missing a sleep timer to stop playback
- Drains battery if left running all night
- Too simple for people who want options
Peace
No messing with sliders or options or layers. Just. Peace.
全くノイズを打ち消せてない
就寝中や集中する際に周囲の雑音を消すノイズを再生出来るとありますが､実際はアプリからでるノイズ音の方が気になって気が散るだけ⤵
Sleep timer?
I love the sound and simplicity but would appreciate turning the app off after I’m unconscious.. would it be possible to add a really simple sleep timer to this great app? Thanks for your consideration.
Where is the sleep timer ?
Agree with other comments - too minimalistic. Sleep timer is missing.
Missing essential function
Pretty good but REALLY needs a configurable sleep timer to stop playing after a selected number of minutes / hours.
My favorite white noise app
This is my favorite white noise app. The app description sounds like it was made up by AI or something, but it is remarkably truthful. This app does white noise like no other. It is a soothing, masking sound unlike anything else. Very much worth grabbing.
Ridiculous!
Go and buy myNoise instead. Incredible app.
Good
Good app would be even better if there was a timer on it, the only problem it goes on all night and uses your battery if you don’t turn it off.
No Timer
It’s so minimalist, it’s unusable. A timer is essential, unless you plan to fall asleep, then wake up to turn it off....
Can be better with 1 addition
How about include an auto shut-off timer that can be set once and every time the app is used it will automatically shut off after a preset time lapse. How is it a good idea to have the app run all night long after you fall asleep? I like simplicity, but this too simplistic. I don’t wanna have to wake up to turn off or volume down after the your app helped put me to sleep.
Its genius is the simplicity
Even though I prefer brown noise or green noise over white or pink, I end up choosing this app every single time when I want to get back to sleep in the early morning, for the simple fact that all I need to do is put on my headphones and open the app. No searching, no fiddling around, no accidentally waking myself up too much by using my screen and brain for too long. Thank you! UPDATE: Even though I'd already given this app 5 stars, I'm updating it to reiterate just how great it is. My circumstances have changed and I can no longer use headphones, but even using it with just the phone speaker it still works very well. I have come to rely on this app so much to get a decent night's sleep that I can no longer imagine my life without it. And still to this day, its simplicity is its genius. Just one tap to open the app, and go to sleep. Please don't ever change this perfection of an app. And thank you, again, for changing my health for the better!
Earplug doesn’t work
I open this but all I see is the cover page - the rest wi t open!!
One noise to block them all
It reminds me of a fan noise mixed with a windy day. A whooshing sound of sorts. The sound would probably be good at masking other noises, but I’ve only tried it in a quiet environment so far. App is simple and yet it is almost too simplistic. Pretty good overall.
Works great
I use it to filter out high pitched cat noises, air conditioning/house noises. It's great.
No settings to control anything
You turn it on and bam! Instant white noise and all you can do is pause it (and control the volume with your phone’s volume controls). No timer, nothing.
Add sleep timer
Please add sleep timer.
The perfect sound to help fall asleep
I’ve been using Earplug every night for several years. I travel several nights a week and wherever I am it takes only a few minutes to fall asleep. The sound is perfect to fall asleep to.
£4.99 for one sound?!!
This has to be a joke. I got this for free during a promotion, but you can’t seriously tell me one solitary brown noise sound is normally worth £4.99?!! You can get Relax Melodies Pro for £2.99, and get this sound and many many more, plus a sleep timer (which this doesn’t have). Sorry, this is not worth £4.99 of anyone’s money.

Works great for me
I have several sleep aid apps, some of which seem to have hundreds of options. This app has one option, and it works great for me. I use it every night.
Grrrr
Can’t get past the opening screen !
Very good.
My nightly friend 😁 Please don’t ever let this app go
Wow
It's hard to believe how perfect this app is Flawless I wouldn't change a thing except perhaps have the potential for even louder volume Perfect
So Comforting & Well Made
I really dig this soothing white/pink noise application a whole lot. It presents what the description claims to a tee in my opinion. No extra controls or other complications. Just simplicity and a great source of calming relaxation I’ve found here. All you need to do is open this program up and it instantly starts playing the white/pink noise combination. The only other option is to pause the noise and that’s it. I like sleep sound applications that offer tons of features and options for sure. Especially ones that let me record my own sleep sounds. But, there is just something about this app’s no muss no fuss, simple setup that makes it easy to start it and hopefully have a good rest, night’s sleep or just as a great way to reduce environmental noise and distractions I think. Simple is definitely sometimes better I believe. I like to use, Earplug, in conjunction with my Sony SRS-XB40 Bluetooth speaker and play it loud to help me zone out and relax when I’m stressed out. I really appreciate as well the many different ways that you can control and play this application. I believe that if you want one of the best white/pink noise applications out there with just the most simple control scheme that you could imagine. That, Earplug, is probably going to be your best bet on the App Store. Also I wanted to note and extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to the developer of this program for offering it for free today. Thank you very much for that generosity. Yet, seeing how well that I think, Earplug, performs now. Well, I would have gladly paid the asking price for sure. Many thanks, again, for offering this program for free today, for all of the time, hard work and passion no doubt put into building, refining and updating this application and God bless you and your loved ones :). Seeing how well that Earplug performs made me also want to check out and possibly buy this developer’s cool looking MIDI controller app that I saw listed below. I wish that it had a demo possibly because the price is a tad high, though no doubt worth it from reading the reviews. But, it definitely looks rad and I as much as I love finding new sleep sound applications. I also love finding new music apps as well. Thank you, again, for this great app and I hope that you are doing well. iPhone 13 Pro Max iOS 16.3.1
LOVE Earplug!
A necessity for those with Misophonia! I use this very often on my iPad to drown out external noises. I also use it on my iPhone for sleeping overnight when traveling. Highly recommended!
