Super Helpful
Picture this, you find the yarn of your dreams. You know you want a cardigan but don’t have a pattern selected. With this app you can go ahead and buy the yarn and be very much in the ballpark of what you’ll need. You’ll find a pattern later.

Love the app. Would really love to switch between knit and crochet. Add cowls or different with scarves for cowls.
Yarn calculator tool
Hi. I’ve just bought the and I’m surprised to see that the lowest number for stitches only goes to 12/10cm. That’s disappointing. Furthermore am I not able to settings or save size profile. I would like to propose these functions for future updates
Is it good?
I haven’t tried using this to estimate a project because—with only eight project options—there’s nothing there that I would want to make. :( Deleting NOW!
At My Fingertips
Being a yarn addict, I’m always looking at a new skien or ball somewhere and wondering how much I’d need to make a (fill in the blank). This little app is my constant companion for a quick calc on that. Great for a general—and in my experience—pretty accurate guesstimate of yardage needed. Love it!
Good Idea Poor Execution
The idea to calculate the number of yards (and thus skeins) needed to do a project is great. The problem is this app is too limiting: • You can only select 3-8 stitches/inch • There’s no feature to enter the yarn weight (ex: 8oz yarn is significantly thicker than 2 oz yarn) • The calculation doesn’t determine number of skeins, only yardage. If there was a way to enter how many yards are on the skein of choice, the feature would be complete. • The calculation of yardage is incorrect. When I finally got a comparative pattern, the app was significantly higher: ———————— Manufacturer: ———————— 60”x70” Blanket — 13 skeins — 8oz weight yarn — 1 stitch/inch — 28 yards per skein — 364 total yards ———————— StashBot ———————— 60”x72” Blanket — Feature not available — Feature not available — Feature too limited (used 3 stitches/inch) — Feature not available — 2060 total yards (divided by 3 to determine 1 = 687 yards) So Greta idea, but poorly executed. And too not have a free trial to figure out this app didn’t do what I needed was just money flushed.
Love the app but needs more options
I think this app is amazing and works very smoothly, but I so badly wish it had more categories/options! I find myself making a lot of knit items for summer, too, and would love to see shirts, tanks, etc as an option as well!
Wish there was more
The app works great but for the cost I would have expected many more clothing options Baby blankets would also be a good addition.

Just bought the app
I’m looking forward to using this app as my cupboards are stuffed full with yarn & I’m running out of room & have been petrified of not having enough so I go into overdrive much to the glee of yarn stores hehe it will be used eventually @ thi will save a lot of anxiety & want to teach the girls in the family & unlock the mystery of knitting and crochet this is looking promising for me 😊🙏💖💖
Good but not great
This app does what it says. It does have a easy and intuitive interface. But for the price of $4.99 I hope there will be an update or maybe an extra in the future. Even if they added an accurate measuring tape as a feature. There are several other apps out there that tell you exactly the yarn requirements you will need. Some are free. So for something that cost on the higher end for an app I look forward to improvements to make this app truly special.

Excellent app! Makes yarn purchase recommendations based on gauge and type/size of garments you wish to knit. This app will pay for itself by keeping you from over/under purchasing yardage.
Indispensable calculator
As a knitter who buys yarn without a specific pattern in mind this app allows me to know how much yarn at a specific gauge I will need to complete the project. It saves buying too much yarn and having yarn left over that can’t be returned and also saves on playing yarn chicken. Highly recommended. And it works on a phone so it’s always available.
I expected more functions
I thought for 5 euros I could calculate more than just how much yarn I need. It's a bit disappointing

Waste of Money
Don't pay $4.99 for this app, you'll just kick yourself for wasting money. I bought this app maybe 6-12 mo. ago and was immediately disappointed. It didn't take a week before I had deleted it. It has a nice aesthetic but you can find yardage estimation calculators for free both in the App Store and online. There is absolutely nothing in this app that justifies its price tag. Maybe if they added a few more useful features it might be worth paying $2, but as is, save your money.

Indispensible!
Stashbot is absolutely indispensible when shopping for yarn. I refer to it constantly when I find a special yarn or great deal and have a general idea what I’d like to make, but no specific pattern. After all, then you have the flexibility to find the right pattern AFTER you swatch!
STASHBOT ROCKS!
II usually knit my sweaters and socks without a pattern with the help of the book, “Knitting 101” for general size and measurent info. My sweaters are usually raglans or circular yoke so once you understand the formula with these types of sweaters (and that goes for socks, too) I find a pattern is not necessary unless the pattern I am knitting has a color work chart I want to use. I use this app as a jumping off point when I need to know how much yarn I will need. Very helpful indeed. Many thanks, STASHBOT, for developing this app! ❤️🧶❤️
