Great game
Awesome campaign.
I wanted to like this game but…
The face down mechanic makes this game unplayable. I literally spend the first 90-120 seconds overturning and organizing the damn ship cards. It is anxiety inducing, no thank you. Sad because once I get a ship together the game is kind of fun. Could be really fun if the ship building mechanic didn’t actively stand in the way of the fun of this game.
Asynchronous play
My friends and I are always looking for good asynchronous games. With one in Canada and the others in UK but with varying life patterns it is the only way we can make game play work. Galaxy Trucker is one of those games. There are minor gripes about having to wait for players to make little choices, but that’s asynchronous. E.g. When waiting for other players to pick which planet, if any, they will explore, the other players could rank the planets they want to explore. And after the first decision is made it can cascade and the player online immediately get to their next decision. All in all, GT is a great, fun game. Not gonna stop playing any time soon.
No turn-based option
The developers did almost everything right here. The game plays smoothly. The words are large, and easy to read. The sound effects are good. I could go on and on. So why only two stars from me? There is no turn-based option in the Campaign game or in the Alien Technologies game. You are forced to play real-time games, at least at the start. I hate that. I’m not a teenager any more. I don’t have the reflexes that I used to have. I need time to think. I paid for this game, but I am denied time to think. There is no good reason for that. So I am shut out of those games. That’s just wrong. On edit: I’ve played many more games of Galaxy Trucker. The Custom Game with the Alien Technology expansion is magnificent. You are presented with all sorts of starting options to pick from. There is no better word to describe that. It is magnificent. But unfortunately I must still rate this game two stars overall. As I mentioned previously, for no good reason I'm being forced to play real-time in the Campaign game and in the Alien Technologies game. Fix this flaw, and Galaxy Trucker is a true five-star gem.

Used to love it, but app no longer works
I enjoyed the game immensely over the summer and had some time to play today. However, the app will no longer load. Sad to see this one go; hopefully a fix is on the way.
Nach Update: Abstürze unter iOS 9.3.6., iPad 3
Hallo Entwickler, habe leider nach App-Update Abstürze, GT ist nicht mehr zu starten. Neuinstallation wird mit Hinweis eingeleitet, dass das aktuelle GT iOS 10.x benötigt, aber eine ältere SW-Version von GT geladen werden kann. Lädt dann aber anscheinend erneut die inkompatible Version, verursacht erneut Abstürze. Wisst Ihr Rat? Ansonsten ein cooles Spiel. Nach Fix gibts auch 5 Sterne. Mein System: iPad 3, iOS 9.3.6.
Great game; super buggy
Love this game! Many issues with the App though (iPad version): 1. No sound without headphones 2. Sync issues are infuriating; completed missions become incomplete and game prompts me to do things I have already done (class three ship, aliens, etc.) 3. Can’t get to Alpha mine: the robot asks if I want to go there but then I can’t choose that dialogue path 4. Achievements not registering after completing them Otherwise, again, love this game.
So good.
Just as fun as the board game, and the campaign is nice edition.
Manual start on online game
This will not let me start a manual online game -it tells me the owner of the game will have to manual start - I am the owner of the game and I set up the lobby but it WONT LET ME START THE GAME - This game is now broken
Stuttering briIliance
Far too many parts being welded into place thanks to stuttering in the game (air 2). Outside of that, lots of fun, shipbuilding is super stressful but it’s so worth it for the times you get it right.

Really good game. Would give it 4 stars for gameplay. But loses one star for not offering landscape mode. Yes, it can be designed to work landscape. And that would mean my iPad could rest on the table, and I wouldn’t have to hold it the entire time. Make me hold the iPad the entire game when it has a perfectly good stand, lose a star.

Fantastic port of a fantastic game
I didn't expect the devs could do justice to this great board game. The real-time ship building would seem particularly challenging, especially on the small screen real estate of an iPad. It's stunningly good, as is every other aspect of the game. And it goes above and beyond the board game by adding in single-player play, an awesome campaign mode, and juicy achievements.
Doesn't work at all
I have all of the compatible software and hardware as detailed on the product page here but the game simply won't load. The software developers logo screen appears for about 2 seconds and then it just crashes. That was a waste of £5 then.
Love it.... but it crashes
I love this game and play it most days on my phone, however I tried to restore my purchases on my new iPad and it just crashes out every time. I hope this can be resolved soon!

First impressions great game but infuriating that the app crashes on the iPad every time you get a notification and you loose your game play.

My son and I enjoy the humor and puzzle solving involved in each mission and the campaign sustains itself too.

Great game. Notifications working
Turn notifications finally seem fixed so increased review to 3. Will increase to five when I know I can opt out of notifications for new missions. Takes five steps at a minimum once a week to clear them. Extraordinarily annoying. Every week a new mission I don't care about that I should be and to opt out of and I'm never notified of my turn on games. Had never played but love the game. Disappointing that I get constant notifications from the system about new missions the I'm not interested in (should be able to opt out). Asynchronous where notifications mean it's my turn and nothing else (no "new mission unlocked") like I get successfully in agricola, Carcassonne, waterdeep, ascension and etc. Would give five stars otherwise.

Laggy after update
Real time games super laggy after update :( Update: it seems to have gotten worse after update. Played the game for years via real-time games and after the last major update we have to restart constantly during each game to progress :( We love this game, but unbearable to play in its current state

Ipad mini keeps crashing... Solution
This seems like a great game but I have paid £2.99 for a game that crashes every 3mins or so. I have the original Ipad mini..., that was the problem I was having. Firsty this problem seems to be with the tutorial part of the game... To solve it, simply shut down your Ipad and load it up again. Then open game and problem solved. It seems to be a memory leak.

Après quelques parties au niveau facile, il semble que je ne sois pas douée. Du genre rapide en général, je suis toujours dernière à finir mon vaisseau contre les ia faibles. Les tuiles que je pioche sont toujours minables, comme par hasard. Alors que les vaisseaux adverses sont magnifiques... Quelle chance ils ont eue ! Puis comme par hasard, quand j'ai de quoi combattre, aucune carte météorites ne sort ou à peine. Dans le cas contraire elles sortent toutes. Si j'ai de quoi stocker du rouge, je n'ai pas de cartes rouge, si je n'en ai pas je n'ai pas accès à caisses parce qu'elles sortent quand je suis dernière etc etc. Bref... Ça me fait suer de ne jamais gagner, quoi que je fasse. Je ne suis pas si nulle, alors quoi ? Pour moi, ce jeu est à revoir point de vue programmation des ia, parce que là, il est trop difficile pour moi, qui suis joueuse expérimentée, alors pour des débutants, il y a de quoi dégouter encore plus. Je suis déçue, j'attendais ce jeu avec impatience. Pitié, faites quelque chose. Merci d'avance.

This game doesn't like the iPad mini
As an earlier reviewer pointed out, this game crashes after a few minutes on an iPad mini. For me on my iPad mini, it bombed out during the tutorial. Looks like I'll be waiting for an update to get something out of my £3 purchase!
Very faithful the boardgame
Love it, having great fun with the single player campaign. Only one minor quibble though is when you build the ship, you can't accidently build a broken ship (you can't mismatch a connector). I love the moment in the boardgame when you've finished building a ship and just before take off someone leans over and points out a flaw and bom, you take off and leave 2/3 of your ship behind
