Description

Introducing Cowculate Version 2.03

Welcome to the Ultimate New Zealand Grazing Calculator aptly named, Cowculate. This app was developed by me, a typical New Zealand dairy farmer who's good at milking cows, ramming posts and fixing broken waterlines, however like most good farmers, I ain't so good with numbers and calculations. I wanted an app where I could quickly and easily calculate feeding rates, break sizes, dry matter calculations, per cow calculations and the like.

How many times has someone asked you "what round length are you on" and you've told them your "best guess". With Cowculate all it takes is a couple of seconds updating your herd sizes and feeding details and you will confidently be able to tell them your,

Rotation Length

Stocking Rate

Pasture Demand (Without Supplements)

Total Demand (Including Supplements)

m2 Per Cow

Calculate Energy Requirements (MJME/kgDM)

and much much more

I've manage to include a heap of extra functions that farmers such as myself use everyday. Whether your a farm owner, a 50:50 Sharemilker or a Farm Assistant doing PrimaryITO, you will find this app extremely useful and helpful.

Most of the "Farming Apps" on the app store have been made by computer programmers with the help of farmers and seemed "clunky" and not overly user friendly. I was tired of referring back to an excel spreadsheet all the time and was frustrated at the lack of "good" apps available for farmers, so I thought "bugger it" I'll learn computer programming and make one myself. I'm constantly updating it and slowly making it better with more functions. I hope you find it as useful as I do. Noel
