I started playing this game in 2005 it has been an on and off addiction ever since. Certified 5* classic banger.
Good game BUT..
New player and everything is good .. but the phone will start burns after 15 minutes and the battery is just dropping like drops .. Idk what should the fix but its super frustrating to the phone (iphone 16 pro max)
Fantastic classic game
Love that I’m able to get in and play. The only caveat is the lack of controller support. I know they have it on the PC version, so I hope they add it here.
Stürzt leider ab
Das Spiel auf pc ist toll und die Story ist auch immer noch ein Erlebnis aber leider stürzt es permanent bei mir auf dem Handy oder Tablett nun ab. Anfangs hat es noch funktioniert. Aber nach einem Update zähle ich nun bis 30 und dann ist es abgestürzt. Sehr traurig. Hab mich sehr gefreut drauf. Zumal es anfangs immer funktioniert hat. Sobald es funktioniert, werde ich wieder mehr Sterne geben aber so leider nicht.
Good game but…
It made my iPhone 17 pro max super hot. Like really really hot, on max settings, this shouldn’t happen. Please optimize the game more, I know you guys are capable of doing it.
Overheating iPhones
The games good, but it really sucks that I can practically cook eggs on my phone because of how much it overheats playing this game, with how poorly optimized it is an all.
Good oldie but terrible port
This game was a golden gem back in the day and it’s still great today. Unfortunately the mobile version is a failed variation. Aside from lacking certain things that exist from PC version, such as commanding all hero’s to attack specific targets, the stability degrades rapidly until the eventuality of an application crash, forcing a game reboot and hoping you can reconnect to continue without loss of progress. This occurs consistently as combat ensues over and over each time until the eventuality crash. If they can ever find a fix for the obvious memory leaks then this game will be golden once more even on mobile platforms, until then it demands stronger mobile platforms even more so than the strength of a PC. Worth it for PC, not worth it for mobile, at least for now.
Mobile experience is well designed
First MMO where I actually feel like it’s intuitive with mobile controls. Just wished that the game performed better. For a 20 year old game, it sure causes my phone to heat up even on medium-low settings.

Game is great - the mobile controls however are not. Targeting is way more difficult than it needs to be and the UI needs to be either customizable or made better for the current layout

Not very thought out
This is by far the worst attempt at putting an mmo on mobile.
Finally on mobile, sadly…
I Downloaded it and was able to reset my pw and there I was. Took my a minute to maneuver around and try to get the hang of not playing on a comp or laptop. Sadly though, my IPhone17 became real hot within minutes so I stopped and closed the game :( sad cause I miss playing GW’s & GW’s 2 ( need to get my laptop fixed !! ) I will try again but it isn’t looking promising :( On a positive note, graphics are clear & smooth,no lag from the few minutes I played, interface was familiar,but a bit different, no choppy movements etc .. it was like playing in my laptop. Perfect 👌 Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be able to play
Frustrating (on a tablet)
Not many ports which then you are forced to run the same path over and over again very annoying. It is a long grinding game that requires days of grinding just to level up. Getting upgrades is confusing because you get no stats to compare with. The map system is flawed, only one path leads to destination all others lead nowhere. The map makes it confusing it shows a way through but it is a dead end. The graphics’s are way to bright and make it hard to see what you are doing. Mentions use of controllers but I couldn’t get it to work. This is definitely a computer game and not for any other devices. I can see a very good grinding game on computer but on any other device it sucks.
Frying my iphone17
Game is lovely, like I remember from pc back in the days, but it’s frying so hard Your device after 10 min of playing my iPhone it’s burning.

I have been enjoying the game already, within just a few hours and a few levels. I can tell this is a classic, nostalgic, well built mmo that has been brought back for new players like myself. I’m very excited to keep sinking my teeth further into my build and the world and quests. I just hope they are fast to get to the bugs. In the starting zone already I’m getting some bugs. One example is the “Poor Tenant” quest in which you must lure the three swarms of bees with a giant honeycomb. They bees repeatedly get stuck on the close side of the bridge, and nothing I do can make them move again. I’ve tried a few times, trying hard to keep the bees in the middle so there is no terrain to stick on, and even then they randomly stop. So, with a game positioned to get a lot of new players, I’m just a little disappointed in how buggy it does seem to be. I also can’t play on the highest graphics settings without heat and glitches, and I am on iPhone 17 pro. I have absolute faith these hitches will be ironed out by this killer dev team. However, it has dampened what I hoped would be a smooth new player experience.
Broken
Multiple of the ads are uncloseable which just freezes you out of the game and you have to hard quit. Kingshot and more. Makes f2p unplayable. Don’t think I’ll buy the ad free version just based on that.
Very fun to play but still a few issues
It’s great to be able to play this in the go but I have noticed at least one big issue so far. Whenever I open my bags I can’t see the description of whatever item I click on. I feel like it is supposed to appear in the box above but nothing does. Maybe it’s just because I’m in presearing but i can’t see what bonuses the identified items give
Acquired Taste?
I was expecting a new exciting and modern 2026 MMORPG. It is not that IMO. Choppy graphics, sharp image, blocky, just sharp on the eyes. Not very smooth gameplay… I think if you liked the old version you will love this. If you never heard if it you it might not be your cup of tea… If you want a AAA game like this try Genshin or BPSR or SAOIF
Needs some fixes
Nice port with some issues. Mainly for me, audio isn’t working at all. Also, it started out running very smooth but got excessively laggy over time, especially during fights (lots of spell cast effects, etc). I almost finished one vanquish (~1 hr) by the time it finally crashed — luckily was able to restart and log back in and it seems like this cleared the lag, finished the vanquish.
Incredible
Randomly came across this while browsing the App store and couldn’t believe my eyes. So of course after realizing it was legit I downloaded it to my phone. All the expansions and extra character slots I bought 17 years ago were still available when I logged into my account. I haven’t played in years but all my characters were as I left them so I’ve been having a great time running around killing mobs. The touch screen controls work well enough. Movement and skill / weapon selecting is comfortable, the targeting system could use some work, but is still serviceable. I was surprised to see controller support was added and that too is what I’d call serviceable, but needs some optimization. All of this applies to the iPad, but the iPad has keyboard and mouse support too, which is really nice. The game runs really well on my iPhone 15 pro and iPad Pro M4. I run this on the lower side of graphics and locked to 60 fps, or else my phone and iPad gets super hot. There have been the occasional crash due to a memory error, but I’ve usually been a able to just relaunch my session and pick back up where it crashed… sometimes mid battle, but oh well. In conclusion, I’m back into GW now and I’ve redownloaded it onto my computer as well. I hope the devs keep adding QoL for touch screen devices because this is a surprisingly enjoyable experience for a PC MKB game ported to mobile.

Like the game alot!
I really like this game a lot, I want to invest in it by buying the expansion packs and paying to get rid of the ads. But… I am on iPhone 17 Pro Max and my phone starts to overheat and screen dims and wont let me put it back unless I stop playing for a few minutes. This is the only game currently that I play that gets my phone really hot after like 10 mins. My ipad pro also gets very hot. I probably will have to just play on pc.
Buggy
Might be good. However the audio just cuts out and forces a reset. Nearly every time you go through a load screen (where the ads are) it’ll cut out, and EVERY time you minimize the game and come back to it, even if for a few seconds
Gutes Spiel, Mobile Umsetzung aber dürftig
Um es gleich vorweg zu nehmen: Wenn ich nur den Spielinhalt und die Mechaniken bewerten müsste, 5 Sterne. Aber es kommen halt noch weitere Punkte hinzu: Zuerst die leider etwas in die Jahre gekommene Graphik - die trotz "Reforged" leider kaum verbessert wurde. Dafür sind dann leider nur 3 drin. Der wirklich größte Kritikpunkt aber ist: Die Umsetzung für "Mobile" ist einfach mangelhaft, die Menüführung einfach schlecht gemacht, Steuerung hakelig. Daher hier nur 2 Sterne. Macht (5+3+1)/3 =3 Sterne.
Bring me back
This is the game that got me into MMO RPG games. I love that they added this game to mobile. I love the faction campaign especially because of the Ritualist class
Mandatory ads when you enter a zone
What a way to kill the game before it even gets started. Ad when I zoned back into the first town put me at 50% likely to delete. Second ad when I zoned into Abby on newbie quest and that was it for Guild Wars Reforged. Was the fraction of a penny worth it for the two ads you got out of me? If I could have played unimpeded I’d have been happy to spend when I was ready to experience new content or boost my growth. Good luck on mobile where there are dozens of other MMOs that don’t force ads on me.

Fantastic game, but Disconnect happens very often.Especially when changing locations and quick tp.Also market state prices $3.99 or $4.99 for upgrades, however is charging £5.99 in GBP.I will still buy everything over time because game and content is amazing and arena are great devs, but dont frustrate customers with prices. 7/10
Great!
Never played it back in the day. Well worth it. Pay once and play, no subscription. Pretty intriguing story so far. I like the unique approach where it plays and feels like an MMO but with instanced exploration zones and missions just for your party. Haven’t touched the PvP as it’s not my cup of tea, but for a solo/coop adventure RPG it’s really enjoyable.
Requires purchase to actually play
I saw a ad and thought why not. Downloaded it and a screen popped up. I could play for free but I wouldn’t be able to trade and stuff. Immediately deleted it. Never will I ever try the game because of it being misleading and I’m actively now hoping for the downfall of this company.
Controller support
Love the game since it came out 21 years ago. I have it on Mobile now, but would appreciate if I had some optimization to be easier to play on mobile with a controller I think.

Was hoping this would install on my M2 Mac! Been using wine and wineskin since 2014, but now only getting 15 FPS with the Rosetta 2 translation layer. We need a native port!!!!
Works well on iPhones, crashes on load on m2 macbook
I have submitted a bug as when booting the game on my Mac it crashed with a fatal error , its a shame as I thought this would of been perfect to stop having to boot up a windows vm every time I want to play
Amazing Nostalgia
I have been playing Guildwars since it first came out and the excitement I have that I can once again play this on my mobile can’t be described in words. One feature request, I wish I could do is perform more customization on my mobile screen. Enabling the time or adding other feature crowds my screen and currently can’t be moved.
It’s rough
I think without the pang of nostalgia I wouldn’t have gotten to level 10 , and even then I can’t say I enjoyed doing so. The game was rough even when it came out: clunky movement ( getting stuck on small scenery like a stick the size of your shoe) clunky combat with weird design choices (being able to finish casting on dead targets, being able to cast at targets you “can’t see” because a small hill is covering their toes, getting locked into animations) and very linear on rails maps that even other mmos at the time did better. The game is riddled with bugs that have existed since day one of launch, the servers are very unreliable, and the game just does not hold up well at all. While the class and skill systems, world building, and characters have incredible depth, it just feels damn near abysmal to actually PLAY.
Great experience
I purchased these games more than a decade ago - so I do not have adds. Now to the game. The game works well on the phone and somehow it feels like it was always meany to be a mobile game. Some parts are a little clunky, like the inventory or map will take up the entire screen. But given the game has just been ported it works - hopefully it will get improved but for now it works beautifully. If you are slagging off the graphics, please go play candy crush or whatever you think is “good”, you do not deserve this game. The game as a game in itself overall is excellent and I wont waste words on this. Its amazing I can still play today and now it is on my phone I could not be happier. Now the issues: Please could you fix the game disconnecting when you switch apps? Its great that it connects back to the same spot most of the time but if it could just stay playing in bg for a few minutes that would be great. Also please could you fix the sound going off when you reconnect sometimes. Battery drain has not been as bad as expected and my phone hasnt heated up massively (iPhone) even though it normally heats up a lot. Id like to add ive been able to receive calls while gaming which has been nice. Overall, great work so far looking forward to seeing what else is in store.

Game has two options: Visit in game store Play game with Ads. Playing game with ads is not an option you can select, however visiting the in game store option works absolutely fine. Can’t play without paying.

I seem to only get the login menu window whistling background audio. Window “cross” close icon buttons are also just black squares. However, this is legitimately an amazing Guild Wars experience. I wish I could transfer it over to my Mac somehow
Only MMO worth your time
I’ve always hated subscriptions. Even MMOs where you buy the expansion, and still need to have a subscription (WoW, ESO) and they have the nerve to throw premium currencies on top of it. They don’t respect your time or money. Not this game. Buy it, and enjoy it in its entirety without it hounding you over subscriptions or premium currency. Play at your own pace. Great game, worth the $7 for the base game alone. Edit: Why is everyone complaining about the ads? If you don't have $7, go find a free mmo that asks you for hundreds to keep up with everyone else instead.

Insane
I think it’s crazy to have GW1 on my phone! But there is a few things that makes me feel it’s unplayable like the large UI some menus and other things seem to large on screen and fill it completely up. Other thing is it’s heating my phone up like crazy, I’ve tried to cool it via changing setttings but it’ll get hot enough to cook an egg (iPhone 16 pro) I hope these can be looked at asap so I can play for hours at a time. Other than that, great!.
Excited to play, crashing/disconnection issues
I have a 17 pro, getting disconnections/crashing over wifi and mobile data. APAC region. Excited to play and see the potential. Hopefully this gets patched and resolved soon. App support page is 404.
UI
The UI should be mobile friendly. Right now it’s taking my preferences from my desktop client. Buttons are all over the place so it’s unplayable for me. I hope they fix this.
Massive fun game now on mobile!
Game is awesome. There is a ton to do in a well crafted world where you can play solo or group up. You can mix classes and skills to create characters with unique load outs to match your play style. Plays great on my iPad and iPhone with controller support.
Great when it works
This is so nostalgic and amazing… when it works… after playing for 20 min or so the game always kicks me out and into a log-in loop until I restart the app. It makes it pretty unplayable for me.
Sound issues
The game works great can do everything with my iPhone 15 except I don’t have sound in game opening screen sound works need to look into this
Fix pls
There’s so options that aren’t functional such as salvaging, also on my iPad the game keeps crashing, however on the iPhone it’s better but still laggy.
Needs Tweaking
Runs hot on IPhone 14 even on lowest graphics where other mmo based games run smoothly. UI needs better scaling as I can barely get enough room for moving the camera/movement dial. Lastly, targeting is a nightmare making continuous ranged/melee attacks hard to pull off. It’s ok if you have decent heroes to party with, but playing with others is a chaotic mess because of the lack of UI features that are only available on the PC version.
