Data harvesting
Car Gurus has already suffered a massive data leak and they require your email address before you can browse their public listings. This is an invasion of privacy. They should not require casual shoppers to give them this information. I am boycotting them.
NEEDS MORE NEW DEALERS!
It needs to have more dealers connected in the new car section. I don’t care what they have to do to sacrifice.

All of a sudden I can no longer view personalized rates on any vehicles. I keep getting “Something went wrong…”

I like looking at cars, and seeing cars that are reasonably priced (usually just a tad over) its amazing as a dream. I’m in highschool (2026) and thinking one of these will be my future self car is amazing

Car ads still up yet the cars are sold.
I found most cars I clicked on that seemed to be good deals were sold already. Also , they don’t seem to include a link for the carfax. AutoTrader and even Kijiji do allow for that.
Ok, but misses vital info for EV
It’s ok, but has zero information or filter option on EV’s… you can’t opt for what range you want, nor do the EV’s advertised show the range, or even the battery power on them… it’s so frustrating when it’s so important to know what range a car can do.

I love the app I just can't stand the fact that every time you do a search it automatically shows your vehicles that are shipped from across the country. Every single time you have to uncheck that selection it forces you to see vehicles that are out of the state thousands of miles away I'm not gonna purchase a vehicle site unseen I'm not gonna purchase a vehicle I can't test drive this app would be a 10 out of 10 if it wasn't for them constantly forcing you to view this and having to uncheck the option for delivery vehicles with every single search

Features- leather seats
Wish when I clicked on the “leather seats” option only vehicles with leather seats appeared, wastes a lot of time looking through hundreds of searches of cloth seated vehicles to find the odd one with leather seats
Add carfax option
Add carfax option where buyers can view the vehicle’s carfax without having to contact the dealer
Ease of Use
Got in a bind and needed to find a car quickly. Very nice system. Only complaint is the reviews aren’t really used enough, that’s not car gurus fault through. Sometimes it gets overloaded when you go to saved cars but it’s understandable and does not hinder much.
Not a buyer friendly app
Tried to contact carguru, your tier 1 folks don’t know what to do with the information. If you want to improve please contact me again. As a buyer having an app with dealers or sellers who are transparent is essential. On CarGurus the dealerships regularly hide a number of items. On the price many have hidden charges which are often labeled as removable options once you get to see the car. Overall Autotrader has better filters and allows for a higher quality search for buyers .

Disappointing
Very useful little app, great presentation, options and navigation. Let down badly by a recurring glitch whereby I end up stuck in limbo in a cars picture gallery and cannot navigate out.
Search
When you are searching &you beck it needs to go back to the current car searched but it goes back to the top of the page. So frustrating & needs to be fixed. It’s a little too much contact & asking for reviews.

add number of seats option
I have been constantly looking for a car that comes with 7 seats but most commonly comes with 5. It has wasted a lot of my time so it would make it easier if there was an option.
I know it’s out there.
I’ve been using this app for over seven months. And are looking for a particular color scheme and year of Porsche CAYMAN. And with the help of this app, I know I’m sitting to find it.

Glitches all the time
I always update the app but constantly try to view cars and get the “whoops look like that one got away” message in quite literally 70% of the cars I try to view. Regardless of make, model, etc. Bc of this I stopped using the app. Get a faster updating platform or develop better workflows for removing “sold” listings even thought they still populate 🙄

This app has A LOT of vehicles with salvage and branded titles listed as clean titles, DO NOT TRUST the title statues listed on this app, there is no way to report false information.
