Been using the app for years when the app was called "Anchor" and it was great. Great because it was one of the few apps for iPhone that was free to use. But just like everything, it's gone the way of the subscription.

A really good app. It was free for a long time, and I would have been happy to buy it. But I’m not interested in the subscription model, so I’m going to delete it. Regrettable!

Now subscription based. Which is okay, but add new things.
This was once free and now it’s subscription based. I get it, but there are other ones out there for free (Candle, Thataway etc) which do similar. If I’m going to be paying I’d expect new features to be added (such as the one I’ve been asking for for 3 years, the GPS heading option, as an alternative option to magnetic heading, so that it can be used whilst travelling in a car, or using it with a magnetic case on). Then I’d be happy to pay for it (but not for £29.99 a year, that’s far too much)
Good app, good support
I’ve had this app since 2015 (when it was named something-Anchor!) and it has become my yearly go-to for my hiking trips. I have many campsites and important locations saved. The compass and distance features work amazing, even without cell service while in the forest - as long as you have GPS. I can also share my saved locations with my brothers so they can find me. Recently, the app underwent some changes and had a subscription model introduced. This caused issues with adding additional locations, which is a huge bummer. However, I reached out to the developer and they helped me restore full access. Thank you! I’m looking forward to using the app even more.

Used this app for almost a decade and all of a sudden it wants me to pay it for a simple pin on the map. Sorry, but I don’t have the budget to a zillion subscriptions.

Great design, bad ethics
I have used this app for years. It has taken me back to my car in unfamiliar cities, led me in and out of the wilderness back and forth from spots I wanted to return to, and even helped me remember where the heck I’m a giant parking lot that I parked. It was a tool I relied on and trusted. …but no more. I get it. Developers need to get paid. Here’s the problem: I *did* pay for it, and now I’m expected to pay for it again and again. When this app went to a subscription model I wasn’t rewarded as someone who’s used the app forever. I was simply surprised with a demand for a few bucks when I went to a Christmas parade with my family and needed to park on an unfamiliar side street a few blocks away. This has been one of my favorite go-to apps that I’ve always shared. Now it’s just a tragic story of lots of thought on design and none on appreciating the current customer base. Sad.
Signal needed
If you have a weak signal, this app will keep asking for a purchase, although you have already bought it. You can’t even add an anchor when your signal is weak. Would be a wonderful program if that could be reaolved.

Update: I wrote to the developer and he responded quickly to allow me to get the features I enjoyed before. Happy with it now. Previous: Was a great Great app. Use it all the time but they have now moved to a subscription model and long time users are not grandfathered in I guess. Can do anything with it now. What a shame

This was a nice basic app that I’ve used for several years. They recently updated it, but then required people who updated to pay a fee- without informing them that this was part of the update. I consider that deceptive practices. I understand that a person should be paid for work, so they should seek donations or inform users ahead of time, but for $60 a year I’m ditching it.
Use an alternative
Was free but now £29.99/year. The overheads need to be paid as everyone moves to a subscription business model. As I only this useful app occasionally I cannot justice the premium so my free alternative is to use what three words. Just make a note of the words and you can find your way back :)
Very Fine App, Now Quite Expensive
I really like this app and have used it for years. But this new pricing, requiring an ongoing subscription at $24.99/year seems kind of expensive. I wish a reasonable one time fee was available. Very useful for finding you way back to where you were when you set an anchor. No other app I’ve found is quite like it! The developer is quite responsive and helpful too.

This app was free until the “update” I’ve used it for years. Now it wants me to pay monthly! It’s not worth it.
Not worth it due to subscription model
Another app going the subscription model route. The cost is $60 per year. Not used enough to justify the yearly cost. I will delete the app. Update: Upon reaching out to developer, I was granted full access to app. App works well when no internet is available.

I can no longer use the app since they switched to subscription model. I purchased the lifetime subscription before now it’s invalid. Edit: The issue has been resolved!

Does what it says on the tin
It's a simple app, but much more practical than all the other "find my marker" apps I've seen. The arrow is a good size, and you can set it to miles or kilometres (yards or metres). Set the app when you leave your car, railway station or whatever, and then six hours later the app points you back to where you started, tells you how far it is, and let's you get on with it. Simple. UPDATE! I've had to knock off two stars because all of a sudden, the pointer points 180 degrees in the wrong direction!! "Most" of the time.
Simple and Useful!
A terrific little app. It’s got a simple easy-to-use interface that will help you to find your way back to your starting point. I find it especially useful whenever I park my bike or car in an unfamiliar location. It’s also great when you’re parking in a huge parking lot, especially when you’re in a hurry!

Work's great in your home country but doesn't work if you're travelling and don't have a data plan. I thought this was GPS based and work with the GPS in the phone. Was disappointed when it didn't.
Bread Crumbs
My friend once said, “leave some bread crumbs along the way if you ever need to find your way back.” Some good life advice! Of the millions of apps out there that can find a point on a map, for some reason I’ve always come back to this one. It’s simple, and works consistently for what it is supposed to do. It’s also not bad on the eyes. If I ever lose the person I’m with at a festival, we can find each other… and it doesn’t need an internet connection to get back to your car when you forget where you parked. The dev was also nice and sent me a link to unlock the app after I emailed him about the subscription and having been a long-time user. Thanks for that!
Paid to subscription.
Opening up an app I have already paid for to discover that it’s now subscription based and locked out the functions I bought it for in the first place? Trash practices, bad faith.
Good, but slight work needed
Good app, however the distance is too precise. What i mean is that it will say distance to home is 18.661 miles, when 18.66 (or even 18.7) would suffice. There should be an option to reduce it to 2 or 1 decimal places. The only other thing is that when you're in a car surrounded by magnetic things the compass is not accurate. There should be an option to use GPS heading to calculate 'bearing to' because the magnetic compass on the iPhone can be wildly inaccurate when around magnetism (e.g. in a car)
