You post and comment lawful and normal contents and all of a sudden they ban your account with simple words saying “your ability to post, comment, and chat functionalities are only available in certain regions” what do you mean by certain regions? Are US people not allowed to post??!! And if you appeal, they will let you wait and just reject it without any reason. RUN and save your beautiful life from this soul sucking App.

Blocked DMs for some “location restriction” bs
Rednote I loved using you, I looked up so many guides, food recs, and finding different resources. But why did I all of a sudden get banned from sending DMs? I do not even post anything. I have not sent anything in DMs or comments violating rules, all I do is look for sublease and buy/sell used items and browse videos. I am so disappointed and furious. This is such an inconvenience. While I loved using this app before this stupid random shadow ban IS RIDICULOUS PLEASE FIX IT!!!

Terrible Appeal Process and Customer Service
Three days ago, my account was maliciously reported, and Xiaohongshu immediately suspended my ability to post or communicate for seven days. I submitted an appeal by email as instructed, but I have received absolutely no response—not even confirmation that my appeal was received. The customer service experience has been even more frustrating. Online support told me to call phone support, while phone support told me to contact online support. Both sides claimed they had “no authority” to check the status of my appeal and simply kept telling me to wait. Today, I called again and was first told that they were unable to look up or handle U.S.-based Xiaohongshu accounts. Then, during the same conversation, I was told that they “did not receive” my appeal email. If they cannot access or verify my U.S. account, how can they determine that my appeal was never received? After repeatedly contacting customer service, no one can tell me whether my appeal has been received, whether it is under review, which department is responsible, or how long the process is supposed to take. Xiaohongshu can punish an account immediately after a report, yet when a user tries to appeal that decision, there appears to be no effective or transparent way to have the case reviewed. At this rate, my seven-day suspension may be over before anyone even looks at my appeal. A platform that has the power to restrict users’ accounts should also provide a fair, transparent, and functional appeal process. Sending users back and forth between online support, phone support, and email while repeatedly saying “please wait” is not acceptable customer service. As a U.S.-based user, I am extremely disappointed with how this situation has been handled.

Status bar missing and cannot leave bug report
Your navigation bar back and close button cannot be clicked recently. I cannot close a page when I open the image or video. Also it’s very hard to leave bug report in your app. The image uploading is not working, no matter how many times I uploaded the image, it just didn’t update.

I love (loved) RedNote. It was my WINDOW into China directly, even though I would sort of see SOME things on TikTok back then… but these days… I don’t see much China content at all on TikTok if any, minus a few “seller streams” and I also don’t see or receive nearly as much immersive typing content and more. RedNote was much better for all of that… AND it was helping me to learn LOCAL Chinese dialects and figuring out how to work the Chinese keyboard to slowly begin exposure to and with… writing back and forth in Chinese. It was a GREAT experience, and a wonderful tool to help you immerse yourself more in Chinese culture… and likewise, we began a cultural exchange with our friends in the Far East and it was nice. I love it still, and will go redownload it to watch fresh immersive typing videos… but if someone at RedNote could help me out to get my account back or figured out (?) I would be very grateful. I have translated what the “errors” say and they aren’t making sense, or they’re saying that I may have been flagged as a “bot” account and I am absolutely not a bot account… I know the last experience I had was chatting in a big group of people about travel to China, I had asked about local networks and which they preferred and some things like that… I may (?) have asked about VPNs but ONLY for my iCloud account syncing in the US, which I know is allowed somewhat for traveling visitors, but I think you have to use an APPROVED app, which I am okay with! I just don’t know what happened… I don’t know what I did, and I’m sad. I miss my other little sweet potatoes… and I want to be back on RedNote! :( I tried to see if I could “reset” my account some way… but it didn’t seem like there was an option for that. :\ — PLEASE HELP someone @ rednote… please please PLEASE help! I’m not a bot, I swear! I want to interact again, and post voice notes in Chinese, and PRACTICE again :( :( :(

Won’t let me delete my account, won’t let me use my account.
My account got banned the moment I created it. Because of this, I decided to just delete the account. However, in order to delete my account I am being asked to address the reason my account was banned (There is no reason. The only thing I did was create an account). When I try to remedy whatever it is that made Red Note ban me, it won’t even let me, and just tells me that I have a violation and that there is no way to solve it. Because of this, I can’t even delete my account. So I’m just stuck with some Red Note account I can’t use or delete. UPDATE: I was told to contact the company, so I did. They told me my account is a “security risk” and that it can’t be used anymore. All I did was make an account and follow my sister and some home decorating accounts. If I’m such a risk, why not delete the account then, instead of mocking me by leaving it there for me to log into? I wouldn’t recommend this app. I had an account over a year ago and had hundreds of followers and just posted nature and food. I deleted that account and this year tried to make a new one. Now suddenly the security of the company is at stake because of my presence. Laughable.

i downloaded Rednote because i was going on a trip to china when i got there i quickly opened Rednote cause i was bored but i couldnt watch if i didnt sign in or log in i redownloaded it everytime it happened but still it forced me to log in or sign in.

Why all the unfair censorship with no right of appeal?
I enjoyed over a year on rednote, fully aware and respecting rules around political commentary. I really liked the opportunity to get to see China, its diversity, the people’s way of life, the culture, the various provinces, it’s history. I had built up a reasonable number of followers. I even had the opportunity to live chat with others, which was great. Then recently I was "temporarily suspended", could no longer chat, post comments, and lost many of the following I had built connections with. No reason given, no way to contact anyone to discuss. In the end I sadly gave up, and deleted/removed the app.
Biased content depends on selected gender
As titled. The gender you selected will determine the information you see and you won’t see. Not to mention other aggressive marketing and sexual implication of a minor! Posted by their parents! This is unacceptable

Good app
I absolutely love this app, it has lots of different things to watch and all the users are very friendly. The only problems that I’ve faced is that my account got temporarily suspended because I’m in England and not in china. However it went back to normal the next day, a few months later after I reached 2,500 followers my account was permanently blocked because I showed my stomach in a video and said it was inappropriate for minors. So many people show their stomachs so it really annoyed me. It’s been 3 weeks and my account is still blocked, they also rejected my appeal.. but overall it’s a good app, I recommend using it
