Consistently wrong dates and info
After battling this out for three months, I thought the app was corrected, but here we are again. Green bin not picked up on the date shown. Contacted the number and email on the app only to be told oh we don’t do that, it’s the city. Well????
notifications now work most of the time
Please fix it! It’s on, tried already to switch off and back on , no luck

Lower taxes due to reduced service ?!?
Collecting stinking , germ-spreading food scraps and rotting vegetation ONLY EVERY 14 DAYS is not warranted … JUST IN CASE IT SNOWS UN-PREDICTEDLY . I totally understand about the safety of the sanitation workers during our very-rare snowfalls. However, with weather forecasting down to an hourly science, the pick ups could be cancelled ONLY FOR THE WEEK of the actual predicted snow, and not arbitrarily for a whole month of perfectly fine weather. Like many, I am wondering how much of a discount we will receive for the year of garbage removal in our taxes

PLEASE don’t ruin this app like you did when your replaced VanConnect with Van311.
The Schedule is not correct
The app logic works completely ok but based on the PDF on the websites(which is correct), the garbage is every OTHER week but in the app it’s every week and it’s super annoying that every time I have to manually check the pdf to remember it’s garbage collection day or not.
Mixed bag
Appreciate the reminders lots, and when I’ve had to phone and speak to a human, they’ve been great. Not having things picked up can be stressful, though…
A text message would be good
Hi, I like the new app but would prefer to receive a text message reminder. I find that was much harder to miss.

Notifications stopped working
The app is working well for a while and reminding me to take out my garbage on garbage day, but suddenly the notification stopped. I turned them on, but still they didn’t work. I had to delete the app and reinstall it to get them to work but other than that the app is OK not the best, but not the worst.

If you live in a multi-unit building, this app plus a sturdy box-cutter are all you need to recycle without stressing yourself or your neighbours. You’ll never be unpleasantly surprised by over-stuffed bins again.

Needs re-vision
It hasn’t been the right dates since before Christmas. I thought they’d work it out but not done yet? Our pick up date in the east 32Ave neighbourhood is every second Wednesday. You have it on Friday ? NO! It’s not Friday- So, we have garbage everywhere because no one remembers. We paid our taxes for weekly pickup but the contracted company seems to have issues. They said it was the snow? It’s gone boys! Really . Hire more people and pay real wages cause the assignment is lost on you. And recycle? It’s Saturday- I ask why - yet again.

I like being able to quickly look up if I can recycle or if I put it in the garbage certain items.

Generally very useful. Lately, not accurate for our neighbourhood. No pick-up as described
Life does get better
I use to search for the collection website , input my postal code every single week, or look for the schedule that was magnetized on my door. Not anymore! The app just tells me what to do the day before. Perfect for us busy Vancouverites with 5 jobs and can’t even remember what day and time it is.
Good app could use some small adjustments
Great app to come out of the city. 2020 governments functioning as they should!!!! Notification feature could use more customization; let me pick how many alarms I want! The game is awesome!!!! I love it, such a great educational resource. Kudos to whoever on the team dreamt that up and produced it. I’m going to have my communal house play it so everyone can learn! Wish that the search function for where items go outside of the game had backyard compost in it. Thanks Vancouver!

I am sooo happy to receive notification because the person that had an office biz loads the bins and we in turn have to wait. Sooo Imuch appreciate the notification
