13 years of usage since age 21, and still going
Hey everyone, this may be the very first review I’ve ever left for an app. I came here to say thank you to the developers, and I hope my long-standing usage with this app proves through the weight of time how great this app is if it’s what you’re looking for. For context, I have been using this app since 2012 when it was Spending and later Spending2. I quite literally have every In and Out transaction logged since 2012. I have tried other finance apps that self track and pull data, but they are too helpful to the point where it’s restricting what I can customize and how I’d like to see my data or organize my data during tax filing. With that being said, a special, thank you to the developers for maintaining this app. I have appreciated your committed efforts over the same duration while also not turning this application into a subscription or being more complicated than it needs to be. Options are great, but having full customization on your data as this app provide provides on the go with or without cell service, it has been more helpful to me staying reconciled in my financial portfolio than I can convey. Thank you again and I’m looking forward to continued years of usage.
Pro customer- this used to be good. Then they stopped caring.
Been using the paid version for over a decade. This was everything I wanted. But last few releases things have been breaking. Eg recurring charges don’t actually log. I have emailed them 5 times, to no response. Now lots of things don’t work properly. Very poor experience. Don’t use - books.
Lattest version fails to import backup file
Been using this app for some 15 years now and never before have i come accross the following issue. The lattest version fails to import backup file, wether it's from email directly, iCloud import or app to app method hence making it impossible to use. I'm at a loss for words really. Is there a way to revert to previous version through app store?
Too many bugs after every updates
This app used to be very solid and the author used to respond by email on fixing issues. Since later last year. They stopped responding to emails with issues i discovered in the app. In the last update, the recurring payment function stopped working and app would just freeze. I really hope they can focus on fixing the issues user reported via email so more people can download it.
Customer support not replying
I’ve had this program for years and now I am having a major problem. I’ve sent three requests for help with a picture showing the problem and no one has responded to me. My categories are all stuck every time I try to hit on a category the page freezes. So I cannot see my individual data that I’ve added the amount for that category. Every time it freezes, I have to go out of the program and go back in. The only way I can see something if I go to the year and look at the date there, but it does not give me all the information can anyone help me out

Lost years of data
I have been using this app for a long time now. Thinking twice if I should still continue. Lost significant data and now I can’t compare form previous years since data are now inaccurate.

Well. Problems.
I have been using this app for many years. I loved it. And did everything I wanted and more. I could sink between devices. I could use multiple currencies. It really was perfect. Sadly, it’s rapidly gone downhill. It works fine, but can no longer sync. Multiple efforts to contact and developer have met with no results. I’m afraid it is abandon-ware. Sad because it was once the very best thing out there.
Changes
I’ve been using the app for quite some time now however, the latest update wrecked a few things. Mostly with the “unpaid” category. The dates aren’t in order and it doesn’t total the payments for you like it use to. These changes are frustrating! Also, when you have more than one “book” per se, and you add a debit to it, you have to make sure both areas for the correct “book” is listed. I have two accounts and even though I go directly into the second one, it still places it in the first one unless I change it.
Spending 2
I use this app everyday . I really like using this app. There are something that could improve the experience. The possible add different account suggestions: checking, settlement Benefits, refunds . Thank you RD
Update
The last update just ruined everything. All my numbers, all accounts, everything is a mess now. What I learned a lot time ago - don't update such apps, ever! If it works - just keep going with the older version, it's not worth it
Best Spend Expense money manager app
After searching for months and trying tens of application, I landed with this application. Using it for few years now. Pros- Amazing features 1. Maintain different books 2. Support multi currency. 3. Transfer of Funda between accounts 4. Custom Categories 5. Custom Sub-categories (not many apps are providing this feature) 6. Export and Cloud sync up Cons- 1. No external import of expenses 2. No bill scanning into expense entry in app. (You can just add as image )

Bug fix introduced bug
I love this app but the last update trying to fix bug actually introduced a bug. Emailed the developer but got no reply and bug is still not fixed (entries are disappearing in several screens). Please fix

Latest iOS Update
I love the original Spending app, but now with the iOS update I can no longer open the app. Will the original Spending app be updated to work with iOS 14?
Great App, wish it supports multi-platform.
I love this app been using it for over a year now. Just one improvement suggestion, I frequently change phones (iOS & Android) and I wish this app can be ported to multiple operating systems including Windows and Mac. I now have to use different app on Amdroid as this one was not made for. All an all a seamless experience on all front would really be the next challenge for the app developers. Users are no longer bounded to one ecosystem. Regards.
Every second day a new update
Preferred the simplicity of original Spending app. Additionally, this one has an Update released every second day. What could warrant that? And as usual, there’s no website or blog for guides & usage tips. Developers could easily hire someone to post User Guides on a blog or have a YouTube channel, many apps do that now days. If you import backup from old app, all the past years are not clearly visible. You have to go into the app to see past years data. So many tiny things need fixing. Importing of data from a CSV file should be added.

Spending (1) Original
I have used the original Spending app for years. I updated my phone yesterday and now the app doesn’t work. I can’t even open it. I downloaded this app and there’s no way to import my data from my old app. This is frustrating to say the least.
iOS to android?
I love this app, have been using it for years. However, I plan to switch over from iOS to Android soon. Will I be able to transfer this over with me?
Add Payee
Did you guys remove the functionality of adding payee while adding expenses? It use to have the '3 dots' that users can add new payee but now it is gone. User has to add payee first and then add the expenses or add expenses without payee and subsequently edit it. More steps and not user friendly. Hope you guys can put the '3 dots' back.
Need Multiple User
This is a nice app and easy to use. My major problem is I would like this be a multiple user app. It would much easier for my husband to have on his phone as well so we can sync. This is the main reason I would look for another app.

Crashes after recent update
After a recent update my Payees have disappeared. When I go to Settings to restore, the app crashes
Problem with recurring expens
In the new update the recurring expenses are showing up twice.
Sync with Dropbox does NOT work
Regardless of all good sides of this app, with sync not being working, I can only give it two stars. Sadly I paid for premium version.. Update: sync via Dropbox still doesn’t work. Developer says it can’t fix the problem because Dropbox blocked in China with no way to check what is wrong. I would definitely avoid this app for a time being
Backup
I updated from version 1 and paid for this version but There is no functionality for backup and no passcode set up Pls advice
Amazing little app
I had been using this app for 11 years now. Started with spending 1.0 and migrated to this version recently. Simple to use and very good to keep track of your spending.
Issues with last updates
And again you are making absurds updates that again are altering my results on credit cards. 🤦🏻♂️😠
Details is not Updated
Hi I appreciate this apps since I can keep track of my expenses. One thing I don't understand is I cannot change the date after the month end. I made changes for how many times but the date is still the same and the expenses that I made last time was not erase even the budget already expired. I hope you guys can fix it.
Crash when enter payer or payee.
Overall features are good but somehow the app crashes whenever wanted to add payer or payee.
Not Bad but still needs work....
I use it everything day of the week just as I used SPENDING but with SPENDING,I was able to see my FINAL TOTAL of everything exspecially my expenses but now,I have to exit the app and reopen it to see my total....Once this is fixed up it’ll be the perfect app for anyone money conscience.......

Never get app from app cheer
They never updated their app spending which cost money so I will never trust them to track spending. Major tax headache this year.
Excellent app but a recent bug
The app is excellent and I love the way it shows the remaining amount in each category! But a recent bug is disturbing my experience with it. Remaining amount isn't getting updated. Please fix that alone.
Debt & backup
We I lend or barrow in debt main balance should change according to that.I am using this app for past 2.5 years I can't able to backup my last year expense in excel format. It's show update to pro version but Indian card not supporting to buy full version
Search No Longer Working
I’ve used this app for years and have always really liked it, but with a recent update the search function is no longer working with expenses entered starting in 2018. Is there a way for you to correct this? I use notes to categorize my purchases and without the search function I will have to add them all up individually. I’m assuming this is a glitch with a recent update, it worked a few days ago. Please help!

Needs serious work
12/19/17: The last update still didn’t fix the lockups I’m having when trying to delete transactions. Doesn’t matter which way I try to delete them. That dialog box (Confirm Delete?) still causes app to lockup. Please fix! Thank you. May I suggest getting rid of the white dialog box that asks to “Confirm Delete, Move or Copy”? Because that’s where the app freezes or hangs. Lee’s fey and simplify it please. I also just tested the copy and move feature. The only difference is with Copy or Move the app totally freezes and must force close the app to get back to main screen. Thank you again and I hope you can fix this quickly. Once I payoff my credit cards and is confirmed by bank then I delete the items. Currently I cannot do that. Not sure what happened, but ever since I went from Spending 1 to Spending 2, I am unable to delete line items. When I pick a month’s worth of items, I tap “Select”, then I tap all the items I want to delete. Then when I tape”Delete” on the bottom, the dialog box comes up to confirm “Delete” or “Cancel”. I tap “Delete” and nothing happens, or the screen just freezes. Same with tapping “Cancel”. The only alternative is to minimize by swiping up on iPhone X, then open app again. This takes you back to screen that you want to select items to delete, copy or move. Please fix this problem as the editing features are currently useless and freezes. Thank you.
Efficient, simple, fast
...could do with a simple user guide for us dummies. A great app.
Difficult
Downloaded for my daughter to track her spending and income. Can't figure this app out. Can't add income or expense names. Seemed OK until I tried to use it. I give up. I'll look for another app with help available. I use Quicken on my PC, I thought this would be easier for my daughter to use on the iPad.

The version 1.8.1 was working 100% now with 1.8.2-1.8.7 was a lot of bugs and problem they dont have the payer information tab please go back to 1.8.1 was working perfect!

Overall it's good.... Looking for reminder or pop ups features in this app...which is missing... This would be more useful for the expense dates or income dates to remind me...that way can easily on tracker
It was a 5-star App
Please run proper testings on the app before releasing updates. Recently, there were many times this app been plagued with bugs after updates. And the fix is coming fairly late even after been notified. We're using it to log and track daily expenses and other transactions. It is really frustrating to not having this app functioning properly, specially we paid for it.
Not upto the mark
Interface and looks are very good. But need some upgrades as the data is not getting refreshed automatically.
