MBNA Do Listen.
(Edited Original 11/08) Your minimum payment request was £25. I paid you 6x that amount well over a week before the due date. Yet, not only did you accept my 6x payment. You still took the £25. Complaint raised. (Update 20/08) It is clear that whilst the computer generated payment request was still taken. MBNA took into consideration my original review and complaint and kindly refunded my card with the £25. For that, Thank You for listening. 5 Stars :)
Poor customer service
Tried to get help on the 24/7 chat and got through to a live agent after talking to a bot. The agent responded to my initial description of my issue but when I asked for further explanation my messages were read but ignored and you cannot close the chat and get a new chat/rep. It just puts you on the same conversation if it’s close enough in time.

Promotional offer unclear
Promotion offer of 0% p.a fixed rate for 24 months on all retail spending. However the app has set a payment date on a seemingly random day. This is unclear as my statement (at the bottom) has a breakdown of balance which suggests I won’t be paid any interest until 24 months time.

This app is great and since MBNA has been part of Lloyds Banking Group you can see your recent MBNA transactions in the Lloyds Bank App as well. First Class
Latest update - snail slow
It worked fine and now it’s ridiculously slow and some elements don’t open at all now - like pdf statements.

Why call me for 2FA?
I am hearing impaired. Why do you have to call me for a 2FA when every other bank in the world can send me a text message or allow me to use an Authenticator app. We should be designing for inclusivity and this is such a glaring miss.
Latest update caused a message flag which cant be erased
Annoying, searched everywhere on app, all messages have been read, cant see any notifications yet little red circle with a one in it refuses to come unstuck from Mbna app icon.

Great app, notifications are very good and very easy to use.
Loan sharks
MBNA are loan sharks. They make it impossible to pay off your credit card. They will continue to charge interest even when your account is zero. There is no way to cancel your account once you sign up. It’s a scam and needs to be reported to financial ombudsman
Disappointing
So many function that once were available in the mobile app have been removed with this new app (e.g. setup of direct debit). Now I can’t even see at a glance when my next payment is due. Disappointed.

Just as useless as the Lloyds App
One and the same company, I know, but when will you bring your apps into the 21st century?! Try to log in, using the CORRECT password and you want to check further with a pass code, that pops up and you say I’ll receive a call, but no call. Try again, new code, again no call. So then I’m told I’ll receive a code in the post in 3-5 days - yeah, right, the Lloyds one took nearly two weeks, suspect this will be the same! Ever heard of TEXT? It’s all the rage nowadays, maybe try that as an option like every other provider does! Useless!!!
Don’t trust it abroad
Good card for general use, but be careful if you are abroad. It refused payment in a Disney hotel in Tokyo, and sporadically blocked random stores in the USA. recently, along with other countries visited. Might be better to carry a back up card.

Can’t even log into the app
User name is correct, password is correct, oh you can’t remember your memorable info? Your screwed. We are gonna send you a code in the post so you can log on? REALLY? What century is this? You have my mobile number and email address, surely a text or email of this code would be more up to date and in line with every other app for the past god knows how many years? So I really now have to wait for approximately 7 days to log on? What a joke! What if I needed to log on to pay my credit card bill? Absolute disgrace.

I twice went through payments only for the site to crash. Then I tried to contact MBNA and was put through r to a bot. Which was absolutely useless .

I tried a payment in a pc browser and got error code IFRH404
App Bricked
iPhone 6S+ cannot yet install IOS 6 - speak to Apple about installing an iOS update. Otherwise the MBNA App has been bricked.
