Description

Pass your beep test: precise beeps that never drift, results that actually save, and the exact target level for your agency.

The multi-stage fitness test is simple and unforgiving — run 20 metres, turn on the beep, do it again a little faster every minute. Almost everything that makes it hard to train for is a timing problem, so that is what this app gets right.

BEEPS THAT DO NOT DRIFT

The whole test is built as one continuous, sample-locked audio track — not a repeating timer. Level 1 through level 21 stays in perfect time from the first beep to the last, with your screen locked, your phone in an armband, and your own music still playing underneath. A triple beep marks every level change, and a count-in gets you on the line.

EVERY TEST SAVES ITSELF

The moment you stop, the result is written: level and shuttle, shuttle count, distance, elapsed time and your estimated aerobic capacity. No Save button to forget. Your history and personal bests are there the next time you open the app, and the next time after that.

THE LEVEL YOUR AGENCY ACTUALLY WANTS

Pick who you are training for and the target sits on screen for the whole test, flipping the second you pass it:

Australian Army — general entry, combat support, special forces

Royal Australian Air Force — general entry, security forces, physical training instructor

Royal Australian Navy — clearance diver, physical training instructor

NSW Police, Victoria Police, Queensland Police, South Australia Police, WA Police

Queensland Fire and Rescue, Fire Rescue Victoria, NT Fire and Rescue

UK police — standard, public order, dog handler, authorised firearms officer

British Army and UK fire and rescue

Every entry shows where the number came from and the date it was checked. Standards change, so a custom target lets you set any level yourself.

20 METRES OR 15 METRES

Both protocols, properly implemented. The 20 m test is the ADF and Australian standard: 21 levels, 247 shuttles, 4,940 metres. The 15 m test is what the UK police and fire Job Related Fitness Test actually runs on: 17 levels, its own shuttle times, its own scoring. Switch between them in one tap.

ON YOUR WRIST

Open Beep Test on your Apple Watch and your level and shuttle appear there, with a tap on every turn and a triple tap when the level steps up. Useful when your phone is at the end of the track and you are not.

WORKS THE WAY YOU TRAIN

One price, everything included — no subscription, no ads, no in-app purchases

Completely offline. No account, no sign-up, no data leaves your phone

Estimated VO2 max from your score, with the fitness band it falls in

Personal bests per course, a seven-day training strip, and your full history

The beep test is a maximal effort. Warm up, run on a flat non-slip surface with clear space at both ends, and stop if you feel unwell. Estimated aerobic capacity is a fitness guide calculated from your score — it is not a medical measurement or medical advice.

Beep Test is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any of the agencies whose published target levels it lists. Always confirm the current requirement with the agency before you test.
