There is a real calculation under the joke
The forecast comes from Apple Weather, not from a joke generator. The app scores the next six hours, because a load takes two to four hours to dry: three hours tells you nothing useful, twelve hours is already a different day.
What dries laundry is not the temperature, it is how thirsty the air is. So temperature and humidity are folded into a single measure — how much more water the air can still absorb — and that carries the most weight. Wind, cloud cover and how long it stays dry make up the rest.
Rain is not an opinion
Rain within three hours is a flat no, and nothing compensates for it. Rain later is no longer a refusal, it is a deadline: hang it out by all means, you simply know what time you will have to run.
