Description

WBTRK is a music tracker in the classic mold — rows, steps and patterns — rebuilt for iPhone and iPad with a sample-accurate audio engine. And now it sings.

Write PHRASES (16 steps of notes, chords, instruments and effects), stack them into CHAINS, and arrange chains into a six-channel SONG. Loop a channel independently with STP/JMP markers, re-root a phrase per bar with chain transpose, and let each channel run at its own tempo while staying locked to one clock.

SOUND — 18 engines

The chip classics: pulse, saw, triangle, FM, noise, supersaw pad, sub, pluck, wavetable (draw your own cycle), and MODX — a dual-oscillator synth with a 4-LFO modulation matrix

SPEECH: a talking, singing robot. Build words from classic speech-chip sounds or just type them how they sound. TALK mode speaks them from the keyboard; SING mode turns a phrase into a lyric sheet — one note column picks the word, the next carries the melody, and a held syllable bends across notes like a real singer

GRAIN: a granular cloud over any recording — grain size, density, spray, scan speed and per-grain pitch, from frozen drones to Geiger-counter glitch

MODAL: struck-resonator percussion — marimba, vibraphone, kalimba, glass and church bells, steel pan — with structure, brightness, ring time and strike position

SAMPLER: record from the mic or import audio; trim, normalize, loop, ping-pong, reverse — or beat-chop at transients and play slices across the keyboard

AUv3 HOSTING: play your installed instrument plug-ins from the sequencer, per instrument

DRONE — three oscillators through a wavefolder into a low-pass gate. Detune them, place each one across the stereo field, and hold a chord for as long as you like.

RESONATOR — an exciter striking a tuned resonant loop: plucked string, bowed metal, blown pipe.

TEXTURE — noise through two resonant filters: wind, rain, room tone, breath. Pin the filters or let them follow the keyboard. Ten presets each.

SHAPE IT

29 effects per note: delay, reverb, trance gate and autopan with tempo sync, retrigger, chorus, flanger, ring mod, wavefold, bitcrush, slides, vibrato, arps and more

RANDOM dice that re-roll pitch, volume, envelope and pan on every hit

Tables: looping per-note programs for instant arpeggios and tremolos

Per-instrument swing and scale lock, full mixer with per-channel volume, pan, mute and solo

FAST TO PLAY

The radial wheel: long-press any cell and rotate to dial in notes, chords, instruments or effects — it previews as you turn

Double-tap places your last note or chord; select, copy, paste and transpose whole sections

MIDI in (play and record, step or live), MIDI out and MIDI clock for hardware

KEEP IT

Render your song to WAV, share songs as files, your session autosaves

A lock-screen player with cover art drawn in your current theme (and a switch to turn it off)

26 themes plus a full theme editor — and a hex numbers mode, the way trackers used to count

A built-in demo song that sings about itself
