Description

Ad Dominum (Toward the Lord) is a Catholic prayer app designed to help you orient yourself in the direction of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. While it is not a substitute for Eucharistic adoration, and it is not necessary to face a tabernacle or church in order to pray to Jesus, it can be a helpful aid for focusing your mind and heart on the Lord's Real Presence in the Eucharist.

When you want to face the Lord in prayer, Ad Dominum helps you use your phone’s compass and location to point toward a selected church. You can keep a regular church as your active point of prayer, search for nearby churches while traveling, and save churches for quick access later.

The purpose of Ad Dominum is simple: to help you physically orient yourself toward the place where Our Lord is present in the Blessed Sacrament, so that you can more intentionally turn to Him in prayer.

Features:

Live compass guidance toward your selected Catholic church

Nearby church search on the map

Save churches for future prayer use

Switch quickly between saved churches

Simple interface built for quiet, focused use

Light and dark mode support

Ad Dominum uses your device location and compass to calculate direction but does not store or transmit your location. If the compass seems off, recalibrate your device and hold it flat for the best results. It uses free, public data for Catholic Churches.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If a church is missing or incorrectly labeled, you can correct it on OpenStreetMap by visiting openstreetmap.org, locating the church, clicking Edit, and making sure it is tagged as a Christian place of worship with the appropriate Catholic denomination.

https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit, search for the church, open its place details, and verify tags such as amenity=place_of_worship, religion=christian, and denomination=catholic.”
