Description
While You Were Busy is your personal news podcast.
WYWB turns the news you care about, across languages, into short audio briefs in English or Mandarin. Listen while you get ready, prep the kids for school, commute, walk, or catch up between tasks.
It helps you stay across what matters without stopping your day to scroll, search, sort, or hunt for the information that matters to you.
What WYWB does
Creates a personal news podcast based on your chosen interests
Leaves unwanted topics out of your briefing
Turns selected news into short, listenable audio updates
Uses news sources published in languages you can read and languages you can’t
Helps surface global and regional stories you might otherwise miss
Groups related reporting into clearer stories
Helps reduce duplicate headlines and repeated coverage
Produces audio briefs in English and Mandarin, with more languages coming soon
Supports scheduled briefings so your update is ready when you need it
Provides the sources behind each story so you can verify, compare, or read the full coverage yourself
A broader view of the news
Most people only read news in the languages they know. WYWB can include sources from languages you cannot read, helping bring in wider reporting, regional context, and stories that may not appear in your usual news sources.
Every story includes its sources, so you can check where the information came from or open the original reporting when you want more detail.
Independence and transparency
WYWB exists to make published news easier to access. It does not originate reporting, write news articles, claim ownership of source material, or affiliate itself with any news outlet.
Story selection is based on your interests, source availability, relevance, and coverage context. WYWB does not sell placement, accept influence from publishers or sources, or weight stories to match a geopolitical, local, political, or editorial bias.
Each brief summarises and organises publicly available published reporting, then provides the original sources so you can verify the coverage yourself or read the full story.
Listen, catch up, and carry on without scrolling, sorting, or hunting for the information that matters to you.
