Description

Daily Gita is a calm, beautifully designed daily companion for the Bhagavad Gita. Every day, open the app to find one shloka with its Devanagari text, a clear English translation, a warm reflection, three small practical actions, and a single line to sit with in silence. That's it. No endless feeds, no ads, no accounts, no noise.

A yearly walk through the whole Gita

The Gita is one of humanity's great dialogues — Arjuna's crisis on the battlefield of Kurukshetra and Krishna's patient, luminous response. Daily Gita takes you through all 18 chapters and every major teaching across the course of a year. January opens with Arjuna's doubt. February and March settle into the foundational second chapter on the eternal self and selfless action. Spring brings karma yoga and meditation. Summer deepens into knowledge and the vision of the divine. Autumn turns toward devotion and discernment. December closes with the final chapter, culminating naturally around Gita Jayanti.

Rooted in the festival calendar

Key Hindu festivals surface with verses that fit the day. Janmashtami anchors on Krishna's promise to manifest whenever dharma declines. Diwali lands on the light of all lights. Guru Purnima honours the tradition of approaching the wise with reverence. Gita Jayanti brings you to the charama shloka, Krishna's final teaching of refuge. Maha Shivaratri, Holi, Ram Navami, Hanuman Jayanti, Makar Sankranti, and all nine nights of Navaratri each receive contextually appropriate verses. Festival dates are bundled through 2045, so the app works entirely offline.

Warm, practical, pan-traditional

Every reflection is written in plain English and grounded in the teachings that all the great Gita commentators affirm — Shankara, Ramanuja, Madhva, and the modern masters — without taking a sectarian position. The focus is always on what the Gita gives you to live with today: equanimity, courage, selfless action, steady attention, compassion, devotion, and inner clarity. You will not find moralising or abstract metaphysics here. You will find teachings that land on encouragement and give you something small and doable to carry into your day.

Authentic Sanskrit, your choice of translation

The Devanagari text is sourced from a scholar-verified digital edition, rendered in a beautiful Sanskrit typeface. Each verse includes IAST Latin transliteration so you can read along even without Devanagari literacy. Choose your preferred English translation from Swami Swarupananda, Annie Besant, or Kashinath Telang, and toggle Devanagari, transliteration, or translation on or off independently.
