The store shows a different set in every country

Description

VeloGPS turns your iPhone into a full handheld GPS. Precise coordinates, barometric altitude, compass, waypoints, track recording, and GPX export — everything a dedicated GPS unit does, on the device you already carry. Built for hiking, cycling, kayaking, sailing, skiing, backcountry travel, geocaching, and anything else you'd reach for a handheld for.

Live GPS Dashboard

A frost-glass overlay on the map shows coordinates, speed, and direction by default — tap the chevron to expand for altitude and pressure. The Info tab gives you the full readout: coordinates, speed, altitude, course, compass heading, and barometric pressure on one screen. Coordinates display in DD, DMS, or UTM.

Track Recording & GPX Export

Record your route with a single tap. Tracks auto-pause when you stop and resume the moment you move again, so distance and elevation gain reflect what you actually did. Each track is auto-classified as cycling, hiking, running, walking, driving, or flying based on motion sensors during recording. Saved tracks appear as colored polylines on the map and export as standard GPX files — complete with metadata block and activity type — for any mapping tool. Rename, recolor, re-tag activity, toggle visibility, swipe to delete with undo.

Smooth, Accurate Altitude

A fused altimeter combines the iPhone's barometer with GPS for steady, responsive elevation — with an outlier filter that rejects physically impossible pressure spikes from tunnels, doors, and cabin-pressure changes. EMA smoothing keeps recorded altitude clean. On iPads and devices without a barometer, GPS-only smoothing keeps the reading stable.

Waypoints

Save your current location with one tap. Tap a pin on the map to jump to details. Distance to each waypoint updates as you move. Mark trailheads, campsites, caches, hazards, summits — anywhere you want to find again.

Interactive Map

Standard, Hybrid, and Satellite views. A live accuracy circle shows your GPS precision. Tracking mode centers the map on you; pan or pinch to release it instantly. Long recorded tracks render smoothly at every zoom level. Haptic feedback confirms every interaction.

Flight Mode

A dedicated mode for aviation: GPS altitude (cabin pressure would corrupt the barometric altimeter), pre-flight checklist, and tuned filters.

Live Activity & Lock Screen

Keep speed, coordinates, altitude, distance, and your activity glyph on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island — even when the app is in the background.

Charts & Session Stats

Real-time charts for speed, altitude, and pressure with windows from 1 minute to 1 hour. Session stats show distance, elevation gain/loss, max speed, average moving speed, and current grade — now on a true rolling window so the last hour is always the last hour.

Power Saver

Extend battery on long outings. Lowers GPS update frequency, pauses the magnetometer, and auto-suspends GPS when you're stationary.

GPS Signal Quality

A color-coded toolbar indicator shows your fix quality at a glance. Tap for detailed horizontal, vertical, speed, and course accuracy — plus a Processing section showing the current altitude source (fused, GPS-only, or flight mode) and live motion activity.

Flexible Units

Coordinates in DD, DMS, or UTM. Speed in mph, km/h, or knots. Distance in imperial or metric. Pressure in kPa, hPa/mbar, inHg, or mmHg.

iPhone & iPad

Tabbed navigation on iPhone, sidebar on iPad. Adapts to split-screen and slide-over. Portrait and landscape.
