Description
The Malaysia Disaster Information Management System (MyDIMS) is a free mobile application developed by the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA), an agency under the Prime Minister's Department. This application is designed to assist the public in preparing for and responding to disasters.
Key features of MyDIMS include:
Disaster Alerts and Warnings: The app provides push notifications for disaster alerts and warnings, enabling users to receive timely information for daily planning and preparedness.
Real-Time Disaster Location: Through an interactive map on the mobile platform, the public can view the real-time location of disaster events.
Access to Other Related Agency Apps: MyDIMS provides quick links to other disaster-related applications. However, users must download these apps separately before they can be accessed.
Emergency Contact Information: The app displays the contact numbers for the nearest State and District Disaster Operations Control Centers (PKOB) and other emergency agencies based on the user's location. It also provides navigation guidance to these locations via Google Maps or Waze.
MERS 999 Emergency Call: MyDIMS includes a quick-dial link to the MERS 999 emergency line for immediate assistance.
Information on Nearby Evacuation Centers (PPS): Users can view a list of the nearest temporary evacuation centers (PPS). The app provides real-time status updates from the Department of Social Welfare (JKM) on whether a PPS is open or closed, its capacity and the distance to the center. Navigation guidance to the PPS is also available through Google Maps or Waze.
