Disgruntled
I used the app the same way as I’ve seen another users plug in ideas and fanfics. Wildly disappointed. Uninstalling immediately.
new updates
the new updates are kind of sneaky. one day i’ll wake up with the app perfect, rich narration, long character replies, and the narration doesn’t speak for my OC. woke up today and the messages are super compact, the “secrets” tab is useless since the AI can’t actually read it or implement it into their story. the chats are super compact, sloppy and lazy, the chats also narrate for my OCs, basically hijacking my story.
Enjoying it a lot but
I like this app so far. It’s fun to talk to the characters and write your own story together with the ai. One thing though I’ve noticed is sometimes the replies revert back to shorter. I have kindred + and it’s frustrating when the ai suddenly changes back to the one narrative reply plus one of the rp character then waits for your reply. When it can be really depth explaining action and scenery and continuing the scene further. Giving 4-5 paragraphs replies. This is amazing, especially with paying for it monthly is like to keep this structure instead of it occasionally reverting back to not + :-/
Decrease in Quality
The quality from when I first joined in March 2026 is very obvious. The bot typical doesn't match with what's going on in the story.
LOVE IT but…
I love this app it’s literally the bestttt! But I don’t like that you have to like uh earn text messages so you can only send a certain amount of messages before it runs out. Overall though it’s really good!
My Dream App
I found this on TikTok and began Beta testing it back in November. I have nothing but great things to say about this app. I love the narration and how it mixes elements of fanfiction and chatting. I’ve never bought a subscription for any app before, but this is the first time I have. Of course it’s a new app and you have some bugs here and there, but overall I enjoy this app so so much thank you to the developers and the creator ❤️ i’m looking forward to the future and seeing what new additions will be made.
App is broken
I can’t even register. I get to the part of the registration where it asks you “your persona” what others can call you and it won’t let you enter any info. I even tried to paste the answer but no luck.
A wonderful app
Such a wonderful experience But lately, i feel like the bots memory has gone down Like it’s just bad, i’m talking with them about something and they forget about it after two messages
Love it but…
I love it. One of my other story apps is shutting down so I hopped over to this one and it’s great. I just wish the memory system was better. I chose the option for a better memory but it still forgets pretty quickly. Other than that though I love it. Hopefully a future update will fix the current problem!
Not a fan
Personally not a fan of this app bc I was making a story and I went to another app bc that’s where I got the story and when I went back to it it deleted the entire thing so maybe could you make a thing where if you leave the app it will save as a draft
Current update isn’t good.
Please take it back to what it was before this new update. It’s virtually unplayable right now.
Pros Outweigh The Cons
I was an OG c.ai user, back when they only had a website, no subscriptions, and several bugs—back when it was GOOD. Most people don’t remember when c.ai was an absolute revolutionary site, but that’s because it’s only gone downhill. I’ve recently cut down dramatically on the time I spend on c.ai because of all the money-hungry updates, and Kindred is actually SO good. They do have some memory issues, but all the ai apps I’ve tried do. You can really tell the creators love the app, and you don’t have to purchase any of the cool chat backgrounds like you do on c.ai, and the chats are surprisingly faithful to the characters. A few bugs and memory issues, but they’ve yet to sell out like c.ai did. If you grew up reading/writing fanfics/spent at least some of the past few years experimenting with c.ai and chai, this is the absolute best variant I’ve come across. Keep it up!

This app has HUGE potential but omg making a chat story is confusing as hell like why can’t I customize the characters in my own chat story i think that really dumb not to be able to tweak it

I found this by accident while looking for other chat role playing apps, I decided to give it a try and I love it. I like how I can have people arrive and leave.

I’ve been using Kindred since it was in beta, and it’s been amazing to see how much it’s grown. The app keeps improving, there are no ads, and the coffee system is such a nice touch that lets you enjoy it without feeling forced to pay, which I love. The roleplay and storytelling feel really immersive. Whether you’re writing fanfiction or writing your own stories, it feels like your choices actually matter and they flow naturally. On top of that, the developers are incredibly kind and open to feedback, which makes the app feel like a real community. I highly recommend if you love fanfiction, roleplay, or storytelling, this app is definitely worth trying.
Good app, but a few issues
Overall, it’s a great app, but I noticed some really weird things randomly happening. 1. Sometimes it will randomly add an unrelated character, or a weird version of an existing character. Like, if a character is named Bob, a character named Bœb could randomly appear. 2. Sometimes, for example, if you say something as Character A, Character B will say “Good idea, Character C” when Character C never said anything. 3. Sometimes, if you say or do something slightly unhinged or crazy, the mood randomly shifts to “Existential Dread” and all the characters freak out over small things.

this app is good, but it pulls out the hotline WAYY too fast, when i want to initiate something angsty, it immediately shows me the hotline just PLEASE lower the sensitivity on these bots

Nice App but Slight Problem
i’m loving this app already, i just downloaded it, but whn i try to watch adds to get more coffee cups it doesn’t work. It worked one time but after it stopped. I dnt know if it resets everyday.

Lots of Potential
Wonderful app with a very sweet developer! Been a beta tester since October and now a regular user. It was a little sad to see the dms function go, but I understand the laws. The chat stories are nice and I just hope for memory improvements! The options to write books on here is very cool too. Very frequent updates, awesome app overall. Has a charm to it others don't have. You can tell the dev is passionate! Love the app!
