Description
You own good cookbooks. You cook from maybe two of them.
Not because the others are bad, but because when it's 6pm and everyone is hungry, nobody has time to flip through twelve indexes hunting for that one lemon chicken. So you search the web instead, again, and the books just sit there.
Millefeuille fixes this. It stores no recipes at all; it just finds yours. Photograph your cookbooks' index pages once, and all your indexes become one search box: type "cozy soup" and get back the book and the page number, even if the index calls it "chowder". It works with no signal too, because search runs entirely on your phone.
Fair warning about the setup: adding a book means photographing its index pages, which takes a couple of minutes per book. A whole shelf is about one good coffee. In exchange, every book you own gets in, not just the ones famous enough to be in somebody's database, and you only ever do it once.
What you can do:
Search every cookbook you own at once, in your own words
Scan a book's barcode and the cover and author fill in on their own
Keep your own notes on recipes, and fix keywords or covers whenever you like
Browse a shelf that looks like a shelf
And that's about it, on purpose. Millefeuille is built to be closed. Find the page, put the phone down, open the real book, and cook.
