I love Five B-N games!
This is another great game. The story is interesting, graphics wonderful, and puzzles challenging to easy (nice mix). I only use hints when I am stuck. The hint shows me what I missed, and I can continue from there. I then like to watch an ad to replenish my hint points. Two reasons: 1. The ads are not always available, and 2. I want to support Five B-N. My goal is to only use a total of 5 hint, and use the hint when I have exhausted all my ideas of where an item is hiding or show me where I need to go next. I love setting aside a day to tackle one of your new games. Fun, engaging, and relaxing. Thank you!
Won’t Load
I loved 1, 2 & 3 but #4 & 5 just keeps buffering & Won’t Load.
Fun but…
I love this type of game. However, this one has more frustrating moments. At one point, you need to just press everywhere. On the other hand, I was just a slight bit off so it didn’t collect an item I needed. I feel trapped to buy coins for hints.
Legendary tales 4
We’ve played loads of these types of games from fivebn and really enjoyed them before. Although this is a good game, the energy bar is such a naff idea and interrupts game play and enjoyment. Why change something that has previously been enjoyable.
Too short!
Why does this only have 3 chapters and they are so short? It’s like you stopped putting effort into the games, same type of puzzles over and over . I expect better of you.
Legendary tale 4
Good game
They are using ai for their cut scenes now
I love Five-BN games! They used to have amazing visuals and storylines especially for being a free game. Lately I’ve noticed with their newer released games they started using Ai in their cut scenes. I thought it was just the animation at first but when you actually pay attention to the dialogue sometimes it’s just super random and makes no sense. In my opinion it totally ruins the storytelling which is one of the things that made Five-BN games so great in the past. The puzzles are still pretty good but I do really hope they consider ditching the Ai bs cause it really ruins their games in my opinion.
Message from a Longtime Fan
I’ve been a fan of these games for years—Ive played almost every game you guys have made multiple times over in order to try and complete all the achievements, and Ive always loved the uniqueness of the puzzles and following the storyline of each series. However, as a long time fan, I was so disappointed to see the use of AI in the cutscenes of the game. I know it’s more cost effective and it can make development quicker, but a large part of the beauty of the game is the art and depth of the story. I would love to support this game and its artists, not a machine trying to recreate that art. However, as a completionist who refuses to use hints, Im realizing that I haven’t been putting my money where my mouth is throughout the years Ive played your games. Is there a way I can donate to the game to support adding atleast one more 3D animator to the team to preserve the integrity of the game? I just dont think I can continue to play these games if your company doesn’t support the creatives who have made this series what it is.
Feel like I was robbed
As with other reviewers, I play most of the FiveBN games and have always enjoyed them. I usually end up buying one, two or three sets of coins to get through some of the puzzles but this game has a new feature whereby in the middle of the game, you have to give up some of your coins to proceed. These were coins that I bought! I can see that if I was trying to get through without purchasing anything but I had. I hope that this doesn’t become an established feature for FiveBN.
Quality control of this game not existing - Mega dev glitch in chapter 2
What happened to formerly excellent Five BN programmers? In the middle of chapter 2 the item in the bottle in the snail cave does NOT come out, at least not on the IPAD version. I had to reset the chapter twice to finally get that artifact out. Please fix and check your games much better out than you do in the latest games. Also, and as many others noted, AI is destroying the formerly greatness and uniqueness of your games. And buying life points is a sad new change too.
Don't Use AI. Use human artists!!
I am usually a fan of your games and was extremely disappointed to read from other users of your use of AI in cut scenes - where human animators and artists can shine. Artists in the gaming industry are getting decimated by comapanies putting profit and stolen art (which is what AI is) over human creations. I won't be purchasing from you any longer, (or any company that uses AI). It is theft, pure and simple.
glitches
I am enjoying the game but there are a lot of glitches. I even had to uninstall it at one point. Half the time I watch an add for coins I don't get them. Annoying
Why was energy for tasks added?
I absolutely love Five-BN and it's where I go to play all of my sim puzzles and I'm not sure if it has always been there or if there was an update but the whole energy for tasks thing is absolutely dumb. If I'm in a rhythm and getting puzzles done and then have to stop, I'm so disinterested in the rest of the story. I already watch ads and pay money for coins, I don't see why the energy thing was added so you watch more ads and spend more money.
Morphing objects issue
I had to redo first chapter as I clicked on all of the morphing objects and it said I was missing one though I wasn’t. I usually LOVEthis game though.
Chapters
I enjoyed this so much, hope there will be more chapters added, like artifact seekers. Keep up the great work, so much fun to play.
Greedy developers
Saving money on art using ai? Bad already. Nickel and dime-ing every action the player takes to even play the game? You’ve reached a new level of greed. I used to love this series and deleted the game because all these new “improvements” are just your way of showing people you don’t care enough to put effort into a decent game and pay artists their worth, but you’ll drain every dollar from your consumer base.
Love five bn games.
Great game! But obviously I knew it was going to be like that, fun and entertaining (All five bn games are). The only thing is killing me tho it’s the freaking energy bar, it only add stress, because while you’re playing you’re only checking that you’re energy is getting lower and lower (at least for me) and you have to wait SO long to play again.
Big bad changes
Let me start off by saying that I am a fan of your games. Was excited when I saw a new one available. Once I started playing it and found out about the energy I was a bit disappointed. I don’t mind having to watch a advertisement for energy but you need to offer more than two times of this. I’ve also noticed that the timer for energy regeneration doesn’t work. That needs to be fixed. All in all I’m disappointed in the changes that have been made.
Won’t open
I’m nearly halfway through the game now it won’t open just keeps buffing.
Love it
Great story line, challenging puzzles, and free! You aren’t on allotted time so you can play as little or long as you like. I’m actually sad I beat the game.
Will No Longer Play These
The energy meter has completely ruined these games. At first I thought there was a bug causing that energy window to pop up. After reading other reviews I knew why. I waited over night to play again, but not enough energy was restored to play very long, despite not quitting out of the game. I am done with this company.
Dragon fly
I have been enjoying this game got to the swamp completed the frog and snake game but the dragon fly I don’t think can be done the 4s won’t join with lines. Can you check this out. Disappointed if I can’t carry on.
Too expensive
Sure you can get free coins by watching an ad, but not often. I have spent $14 so far. Would be nice if I could apply that to the full game purchase and only have to pay another $5 instead of 19.99. The game itself is pretty good with a lot of story. Would like to pay less
Ruined
The 5BN games are my favorite but the introduction of using “energy” to complete every single task in the game makes it difficult to enjoy. I’d rather pay one flat price for the game to get rid of it! It causes me to lose interest
Great Game
You really have outdone yourselves with this game. It took me a month, but I finally finished it. Well done—bravo!
More money than it’s worth
$$$$
Great puzzles
Great puzzles, but time-wasted due to irritating lightning bolts needed to continue. Otherwise I’d have given it 5 stars.
Great game but why does the store keep coming up?
I live these games and have been so looking forward to the next chapter. But the store keeps popping up and won’t allow me to continue the game without clearing everything out and waiting sometimes days to continue to play. Please fix!!!
Changes to game play
Having the added energy to this game is not it. I’d rather pay for the game out right and not 20 dollars!
Obsessed!!!
I have played all of your Legendary tales and lost lands series!! I am truly obsessed with the story lines and the mini games!! When are you guys releasing more games?! I loved the fact you guys started using chapters within the latest games.
Love five BN. Hate this new energy bar
I’ve enjoyed your games for years over and over and enjoying the relaxed pace with puzzles. This new energy bar that has to be refilled to even play is highly annoying, particularly since there aren’t always ads available to get energy. I get you need to make money, but this game just hits completely different when my gameplay is interrupted. Feels like a money grab rather than a great game. Really hope not all your future games are like this.
Great game
I love the Five bn games, particularly the Lost Lands series and New York mysteries, some people are complaining about adverts but I haven’t had any at all so not sure why that is. Anyway, really liked this one, great puzzles, animation and storyline, not sure why they’ve started doing things in chapters but if you’re new to Five BN I urge you to give there other games a go.
I HATE THE ENERGY BAR
I have played every single one of these games by this developer and have really enjoyed all of them. I understand the use of ads to keep the game running and create revenue for the developers. But now this energy bar changes what was once a fun and addictive game into a glitchy and frustrating game just like all the rest you can play. Every time I log into the game my energy has only gone up a few, and once time I closed out the game and went back into it and the energy went from 6 to ZERO. Clearly there is a bug, but I really hope this doesn’t become a new thing for your games. I never write reviews for things but I just had to for this disappointing change in one of my favorite developer’s games. I am only giving it two stars because I know how good this game COULD be.
A decent addition with AI jank…
Gotta admit, disappointed to see the wonky AI in this one. I have played all the five-bn games and love the creativity, but the AI ain’t it. Hope to see less of that in future installments.
Update!!! Energy recharge is gone!!!!
Update!!! Yay!!!! The energy recharge is gone!!! First I don’t like the energy recharge. Secondly it’s telling me my profile is corrupt. I have never had issues with games from y’all. I have really enjoyed the previous games but I’m not liking the game.
Disappointed
I was disappointed by the usage of AI here. I expected better from Five-Bn as a fan of theirs but this was awful. Shame
Issue
String puzzle on the tree is broken. No clue to be found, but keeps telling me I need it.
Energy
The new energy thing fine I can handle, but my energy did not regenerate properly so I waited for 6 hours to 0 energy and can’t play…
Five-BN is becoming like every other game😞
I usually LOVE games developed by Five-BN, but now I fear that the franchise is becoming similar to everyyyyy other game. I loved how the developers were able to create great story-lines, while still having that puzzling aspect. Now, there is an energy cut-off meter that has definitely ruined the game’s attraction. There are no rules or guidelines on what SPECIFIC actions require what amount of energy, so there is no way to know how fast your energy will deplete. Also, there have been many instances where I get out of the game and return hours or days later and my energy has not replenished; even though it says every 3-4 minutes it should. (If we’re going to be paying for it, that should 100% be a glitch that should not happen) Although, I understand the need to bring in revenue, adding this aspect has caused the ratings of this particular chapter to be less than previous games and only pushes potential players away. One advancement I did notice however, is that the characters appear much more human-like and the graphics/visuals have gotten so much better. Butttt, if having fuzzy and harsh graphics will mean getting rid of the energy meters, I’ll take it😭
Amazing GAMES
I always pay the 19.99 for the whole game and then I can play it anytime, anywhere. And I don’t think that’s too much to ask for.
Disappointed
Ive played a lot of the Five Bn game series but it seems a good thing can never last. I’m highly disappointed that they want to charge $20 for no ads. That’s a bit much for a game that has cheesy graphics and uninteresting puzzles. I’d be willing to pay 2-5 dollars to see if the puzzles got better but $20?! No way. You had a good thing going but had to get greedy.
Mistake
a mistake in the mini-game with the opening of the witch's room. The cylinders ran upstairs and I can't go through the game.
This new energy limit is ruining the gaming experience
I've always loved this developer, but this new energy limit thing is ruining the gaming experience. It is frustrating to go from being able to play the game at my leisure to being forced to stop or spend coins on energy. Not liking this new mechanic...feels like a money grab.
Sad to see this happening
I’ve played many a FIVE-BN games and find them entertaining. But the addition of a timer in the game removes a lot of what I enjoy in playing. Mostly I play them to relax and solve puzzles, sometimes when involved in other activities. The timer puts unnecessary stress on playing removing the relaxed time I spend. If this is the future format I will not be playing them in the future.
Love it
Gorgeous graphics and a good story. Lots of challenging puzzles.
New Monetization Strategy Makes Game Nearly Unplayable
I have played nearly all of the puzzle adventure games by this developer. I always end up, making a few in app purchases for coins for hints, but now, they have implemented this “green lightning bolt“ monetization strategy, where you have to have a sufficient supply of green lightning bolts to progress in the game; otherwise you are redirected to in app purchases to buy more lightning bolts. You can of course watch an ad to earn 30 lightning bolts which lasts may be a minute and a half in actual gameplay. I am done with this developer. If this is their strategy moving forward, don’t waste your time on this one guys.
Love these games, but key puzzle isn’t working
Another great game from five bn games. Have a problem with the lock in the first chapter. You can only move one of the pegs with the lock pick, so can’t go any further.
AI, really?
I really enjoyed the previous games, but the AI imaging in this one ruined the experience for me. I finished it for the story, but all I got was a horrid cutscene with melted-looking characters. If this is the path the studio will be taking, it’s sad to see. The reason the previous instalments were fun was because they were crafted with thought and care, and now that care seems to be dwindling.
Energy Issue
I do not like the addition of energy to the games. It runs out really fast and didn’t even reload overnight.
