Better vocab than duo lingo
26 provides much needed visual/audio flash cards and a good system to balance learning vocab effectively. I especially like the anime themed Japanese lessons because the art is very visually effective in promoting and relating learning though visual and audio cues.

Overpriced
1. Half of the words have incorrect pronunciation. 2. Some of the words are impossible to tell gender for (because of the shortening, like โlโโ) 3. The app logs you off every day as if itโs a banking app 4. The pictures used for visual associations are clearly AI garbage

Priced to high
This app has potential. Though currently, for the price, it isnโt worth it. Most learning apps around Japanese have this same flash card system you can use. You could even use Anki for free in your browser without paying for the app. Maybe if they used the price theyโre charging to pay an actual artist for the images, it would be worth it.
Better pictures
Love the animated illustrations. I would like to recommend making them more adult themed or more extreme. The more unforgettable the image the better.
Terrible
Terrible. Really not worth the money. Make your own deck. The cards can pile up to 146 words in a day even when youโre set to learn 5 new words a day, because it never gives you a chance to review words using spaced repetition. If you donโt know the word and you press again or hard it pops up as the next card over and over again, so youโre forced to review again the next day by pressing the green button. I have no idea why you canโt alter how often you can review a card and the developers wonโt address these simply issues that make learning vocab hard. They just ignore you. I wasted so much money on this for a yearly subscription and I regret it so much. I will never recommend this app to anyone.

Good for memorising words
Iโm using it for german. If you are already at an A2 level, itโs quite good for memorising words however the paid part is disappointing. I donโt recommend it as a full tool of course but as part of a daily exercise to stay sharp
Great app
Iโm taking french course in here. It not only help me learn new words but also practice conjugation as well

I wanted to like it more than i did
Overall itโs not amazing and not bad. Iโm not sure how the algorithm works and what kind of SRS model itโs using, i only had 55 reviews per day. The interface is slick and thatโs what initially sold me but after a while it became a bit glitchy and cards were read incorrectly. I donโt hate it, and i think the pictures are a great addition, it also became clear that much of the vocabulary i was learning was not useful.
I have tried countless apps but this one is different
I have tried countless apps, gamified learning, making my own flashcards etc. Some apps feel overly complicated when I already have a hard enough time getting myself to sit firm and do vocab. Or some apps or games just donโt do what my brain needs to remember something. I need a picture. I need an example sentence. I need to be able to repeat the same sentence over and over. I need it in kanji and English. I want to pick my own words to learn - I donโt need need a lot of the vocab other apps give me. This app does all those things and itโs the first app I have started that I didnโt feel frustrated from the get go. I did my first group of vocab with this app and actually felt relief it was all the things I needed and it was more fun than most. Not because learning vocab is fun to me - itโs not. Mostly because I wasnโt distracted by all the things I wish it was. Iโm sticking with this app and learning vocab!
Dumb
I was excited ti try this app but it seemed to require a signup to use it and unfortunately didnโt have a way to give an email. Only Google or Apple. Dumb!

Forced to learn beginner words
Iโm a bit confused because I tried to use this for French and Iโm like B2/C1, but it seems I have to go through all the beginner flash cards before unlocking higher level ones? Which practically seems to mean I have to flip through a few thousand flash cards, which isnโt really worth it. If Iโm missing something (unless itโs just paywalled..), I can change my review, because in principle this app seems nice
best flashcard app ever
Iโve been trying to learn Japanese vocab with flashcards but all the ones Iโve tried before are ugly or inconvenient. When I tried this app I knew this was what I was looking for - fast, clean UI and effective for memorization. Highly recommend!
Utterly useless
Trying to use this to study Japanese, but after multiple attempts, restarts, deletions and reinstallations, and even using a VPN, it refuses to show me any choices for Japanese study, and instead only shows me courses for the study of English (in Japanese). No option to log out or select other courses of study. Utterly useless (since I happen already to know English.)!

Mixed bag
The pedagogy and structure work well. However the biggest drawback that undermines the effectiveness of this app is the use of ai images. Too often the images are not accurate representations of the words. There should be an option to disable the images or even replace them with user uploads.
