App not working after update 1 July 2026
I updated the app this morning. The app now has a message saying “warning. Token required”. Unable to top up the wallet balance or do anything else on the app. Please fix these issues. The update has caused problems.
Confusing payment system and poor transaction visibility
The Parkonic app makes it unnecessarily difficult to understand where your parking charges are actually being paid from. I have money sitting in my Parkonic E-Wallet, yet parking sessions can instead be charged to my Salik account. The app gives no clear indication when a session ends whether the charge was deducted from the Parkonic wallet, sent to Salik, or is still pending. This is made worse by the way information is split across the two systems. Parkonic may simply show “Trip Completed”, with no amount or payment method, while the actual charge appears later in Salik. I recently left a Parkonic-managed car park with an AED 100 charge and had to check multiple screens across both apps to establish where the AED 100 had actually gone. For a system handling customers’ money, this is basic information that should be immediately visible. Every completed parking session should clearly show: Amount charged • Payment method used • Time of payment • Transaction reference If Salik is the default payment method even when there is sufficient money in the Parkonic wallet, the app should also make that very clear and explain how payment priority works. The technology may be convenient, but the lack of transparent transaction information creates completely unnecessary uncertainty about whether you have been charged correctly or even charged twice.

Failed to detect exit
The system failed to detect car exit , after checking this app found my parking is active,, took the car in same place to get it exit , when I called to Parkonic customer support , they not able to check missed entry with the camera … so guys after exit the parking lot check for parking timing is closed ..

Since the government has already given the benefit of free parking everywhere then why AI powered PARKONIC system can add exemption for parking charges as they can systematically deduct charges from SALIK account but cannot add exemption from their system, that’s so unfair for POD especially with their per hour charges

Felt manipulated
As a Person of Determination, I am extremely disappointed with this service. Many parking locations managed through Parkonic do not properly recognize or honor the free parking privileges that should be available to People of Determination, causing unnecessary stress and inconvenience. I also feel completely misled by the way this system was introduced. Suddenly, cameras appeared in the streets, my existing parking subscription was canceled, and I was forced into a new system without any clear improvement in service. The parking fees are excessively high in malls, business centers, and residential communities. In my experience, the previous RTA paid parking system was much better, more transparent, and more user-friendly than this new setup. To make matters worse, the app is slow, unreliable, and frustrating to use. Customer support is equally disappointing. Every time I need assistance, I spend 15 minutes or more waiting on the phone before anyone answers, and the support provided is far from satisfactory. Overall, this has been a very poor experience. Higher fees, poor accessibility for People of Determination, a slow app, and weak customer service make it difficult to recommend this service.
