The Sayers Lovers
For all the latest news on Newcastles most famous crime family follow this trash news paper.
Poor App
I never seem to get today’s news on the app and keeps giving news from days ago after the first few stories. I for the life of me I can not see any search facility if you want a certain story or topic. Overall cheap and poor. Real cost cutting and they wonder why their business is disappearing!
Not bad.
I'm a north east native now living in New Zealand so I use this app to keep up to date with stuff back home. App would be better with more customisation of notifications which can sometimes be annoying.
Waste of time app now
What’s the point of having a news app, when once you have read 7 articles per month you are locked out and have to pay £4.99 to read any more.
Irritating NUFC blogs
I like the content of the Chronicle App particularly the coverage of NUFC. Yeh main irritation is the the live NUFC blog always resets to the bottom of the page and you have to scroll to the top of it whenever you want to read the latest news. Surely this would be an easy fix.
Wingers
Keep st. Maxi whoever we buy but offload the talentless Almiron at all costs he’s keeping much better players out of the team. Cmon Toon!
Unable to subscribe
Tried for weeks to subscribe for premium acccess at the £1 offer. Unable to complete because the app won’t redirect me to my bank. I know this because the message simultaneously comes from my bank that it is the fault of the chronicle site.
Great for my NUFC fix
I live in brisbane so theres almost never news on NUFC. This app us great for me!
Not fit for purpose
This Newcastle Chronicle Live app is clearly not fit for purpose, continually locking, articles freezing and jumping, stories unable to load. It used to be good, now this service is a joke considering the cost which incidentally is supposed to eliminate adverts but doesn’t, it’s now time for the Chronicle administrators to get something done about itas in its current firm is a complete waste of time.
Error 1000
Subscription is active using Apple sign in fails on error 1000 … what’s wrong?
The Chronicle
As a Canadian Geordie 60 years I Like to read the paper every day, the new format is great, miss the old pats column. Cheers 🇨🇦🇬🇧
Cash Grab
After years of using this I’m now off to BBC. You get limited access per week (7 clicked articles) and there’s also premium articles…both accessible for a monthly fee. It’s frustrating and I hope this is the start of a doom spiral trying to cash grab, feels like a very poor business decision. AVOID
Local news
The app is great to keep up with local news but the amount of glitches and adverts is ridiculous. You try to scroll down the page and you end up on some stupid advert.
Chronicle web page
Further to this new update which in essence is a brilliant concept only it freezes when you select the item you wish to read. The vast amount of content is at one’s fingertip & the depth of coverage is quite spectacular however every time I’ve made to read said content I’ve been shut out! In all great idea but please make it work Thank you all Jacqueline Wilson
Free and informative Geordie News
Great to keep with all things NUFC and that north east. Just a tad easier than the old days when Manchester Central library would have The Journal from the day before.
Downhill
This app went rapidly downhill. Definitely won’t be paying subscription. Used to be good app
Football stories
In the app today .. top news stories, 16 articles on actual news v’s 20 articles about Newcastle United… We are not all interested in football!!! I haven’t read them but put my money on them all being repeats of each other
Can’t view responses to my comments.
Only gripe, in recent weeks, despite deleting the app, clearing the cache, and reinstalling the app, is the app crashes when attempting to read responses to my comments, in the my account section.
Love the chronicle app
As a expat it keeps me in touch with the north east
Bring back the old chronicle
I used to use this app daily for local news, now they require a monthly subscription to read 95% of the articles.
Not working 100%
App keeps crashing and not loading news stories when tapping on it
Advertising
Have far too much advertising! It is always frustrating to negotiate my way through an article that I really want to read, because you have far more adverts than article!!!!
Great app for the Toon
Every northeastern born person needs this app
Not worth the paper its not written on!
Shocking app. The chronicle used to be the go to place for local news but no more. Many articles are national not local and now no longer able to read the majority of news as its behind a paywall Will be out of business by Christmas unless they do something fast as noone in their right mind would pay! RIP
You broke it again! Why create an update that won’t even update?
Tried to delete the app and reinstall newest version but it seems I can’t even do that!! If it’s not broke, don’t try to fix it. Your bug fixes create MORE bugs! Your developers need replacing pronto!!!!
A surprise
I'm surprised by how good the app for a local newspaper is. Nice simple layout which translates the website into a suitable mobile format. The only thing I'd change is the removal of quite long Ads in front of videos however, it's an understandable evil.
No longer a local paper
The chronicle used to be where we got all our local news. However, now it seems to only regurgitate old news and the views and opinions of other papers and others who have no links or knowledge of the Newcastle area. Also want you to pay for their drivel. I just despair for the future.
Poor
Tap to open and you get the headline only, it will not scroll to get the story.
Love It
Living on the other side of the world, this app is up to date and let's me see all the latest NUFC news instantly and faster than any other news feed. First class.
Poor journalism at a premium.
Latest update now seems to limit readers to 10 articles unless a premium subscription is taken out. For the standard of reporting(?) NO- > DELETE APP.
Constantly closes down
Whenever you try to access and view your comments the app closes down. As for the quality of local football journalism it’s shocking. Copy and paste journalism
Spoilt by adverts
Great app that spoilt by the adverts that pop up causing the app to get stuck in a loop forcing a reboot of the app
Previously it was 5 star
This app was excellent but now you cannot read anything unless you pay £5 per month, i suppose this is one way that you can go about loosing thousands of evening chronicle readers
Infuriating
I don’t know why but the app keeps on dredging up and displaying old stories - sometimes a few days out of date, occasionally from several months or even years ago. Really really annoying…
Love it
This is excellent app as I love in Oz...this helps me keep I touch with home...all ex pats will understand 😜
Rubbish
No one in there right mind would pay for this rubbish
Comments section doesn’t work, despite update
