The Best App for Wildlife
This app is the best app I’ve ever used for photos- specifically for wildlife photos. The photos look so natural and the app is easy to use. It really enhances the print quality. I love the Upscale and Unblur features. Workflows are very easy and the updates make the app even easier to use. I’ve used for non- wildlife photos as well and it works great. Well done!

Changes faces into monsters no matter what I tried
Massive Improvement
I voiced my opinion when I hated this app, so it’s only fair to acknowledge when my tune has changed. Topaz really turned this app around, and it’s far more usable than it was. Still can’t achieve what the PC version can, but can still produce some great results most of the time. Good on you, Topaz.
Great at first then turned to slop like every other app
This app worked for the first two weeks to upscale images. I paid for the annual subscription at $109. I didn’t have an issue as long as I was I getting great results. Then one day I go to upscale my images and it says I need to upgrade to a high package. The image I tried to scale exceeded the 32 mp plan limit apparently. I emailed support thinking it had to do with running out of some sort of monthly credits for upscales. No you can have unlimited upscales so long as they do not exceed 32mp. I find this strange because every image i uploaded at first worked fine scaled all the way to 8x. All of sudden every image exceeds 32mp, and I can’t upscale more than 2x. It seems as thought this happened overnight and the only real solution is upgrade to the Pro plan for $300+. I’m not a professional, I don’t need all that. I will be cancelling and deleting this app since it no longer works like it should. Disappointing because this was the best app I found for upscaling that wasn’t outrageously priced for an annul subscription.
Backwards move
Just sort the reviews by recent to see how it really is now… Gigapixel for iphone was near perfect. It did one thing really really really well and other things pretty good. Speed was totally acceptable and image quality was superb. Now it’s been re-launched and it’s a big miss. The one thing it was best at (and best known for) is now straight up gone with a lesser option sort of still present, but way less useful. My “standard” subscription is now “cloud lite”, and every single step takes 10x longer. Uploading a 500kb file? 15-20 seconds. Waiting to process, waiting to view what was processed, waiting to download. And it went from png perfect quality download to compressed jpegs. The only control you needed was for redefine - keeping everything at low gave you the best straight up enlargement and slight sharpness you’d be likely to find anywhere. That control is gone - that model is gone. There’s more 99% useless gimmicks that you’ll maybe try once, and the base, the core function you’d come to love (and depend on) has been stripped away. What’s autopilot doing? Zero control. Unpredictable results. 4x as many taps to get something done. A waiting time so unpredictable that I can’t count on it and just didn’t use it today. Why apps that are just about the gold standard go and mess with perfection is totally beyond me. Now you’ve got a library of images that don’t want to delete - or if you delete them in one place they’re still buried in another. No one’s looking for lightroom on their phone - it was perfect at what it did. And most importantly, 100% reliable and dependable. Now I get no-control results that are obvious ai, wait times that range from minutes to an hour, compressed results, and less basic control. I’m sure what made it great is still inside there…somewhere…but now it’s overly complicated trying to be simple but wound up stripping what made it work.
Can’t delete past photos
the actual enhance feature works well, but almost 90% of past image uploads cannot be deleted from the app; when I touch and hold on a picture, it does nothing. only for a few pictures does it show the delete options. I assume this is a bug. it needs to be fixed asap
BEWARE!
I found this app to be anything but what it claims to be … no better, in fact somewhat worse, than freebies otherwise tried out. After ten minutes it was obvious so I cancelled and requested a refund which was denied because my reason for doing so did not qualify for a refund. IMO not reputable.
Near perfection
Exactly what I was looking for!! Just need to be able to select multiple photos at one time and this would be beyond perfect!
All about $$
When the app first came out, you got some many credits a month to edit photos. You could actually edit quite a few photos. Then, they changed and limited it to so many edits a month. Now, you supposedly get 10/month, but I find that not to be true. I haven't used the app in a couple of months and now I can't do any edits unless I pay a subscription.. so over time, it's shifted to squeeze as much money out of people as possible.
V2.0.1 seems not working in iOS 26.4
This is my fav app. But latest update seems broken. Any image edit request that I give results in ERROR. Let me know once you have a fix.
A bit of a pain but incredible results.
The results are incredible, but the output files are huge. I have to shrink them with Luminar Neo. Also, sometimes their servers are slow or won’t let you log in. The results are worth the trouble though.

Phenomenal Enhancer
This app works incredibly for bird photography and cleaning up images, i absolutely love the “general enhance” feature. However, for mammals and other wildlife, it really struggles and makes my photos look unrealistic. I’m not sure why the disconnect from birds to mammals occurs, i hope this is something they fix in future updates. But that is why i give it 4/5 stars. If they can lock that aspect in, this app is easily a 5/5. But I will say, for bird photography, this app is well worth the money for enhancing photos and making them look like 3d images with the quality it provides.
Not worth the money
This app is extremely expensive ($500/year, subscription only) and quite frankly not worth it. It is significantly less powerful and less flexible than the desktop version, with fewer features and worse results. With a less hefty price tag it could be useful but there are more affordable and even free mobile alternatives that perform better. The app itself crashes constantly and asks you to review it after every single picture. Please do research on better options and do not pay for this.
Great, but
I sent these guys email yonks ago about encouraging them to make an iOS app , were the devs of the legacy apps , adjust , clean etc , but subscriptions Doubt il subscribe after the trial , would rather simply own it. Subscriptions really are for those that don’t plan on full time use So please allow (along side the subscription plans) the option to buy the app , a perpetual license, like other apps do with option to subscribe if they wish. Trust , I’d easily pay £80 for a perpetual license

It freezes everything out. It uploads it appears like it’s fixing the picture, but I can’t do anything with the picture. I can’t download it. I can’t go back in the app it freezes. You fixed it so good it doesn’t work.

very good app, great quality, but when I try to do anything it says error status code 412. How do I fix this
Needs improvements
Keeps logging me out anytime I leave the app. It doesn't give me an option to do multiple photos at once like the desktop version. Otherwise if you plan to do a simple upscale it's great at that but doesn't give you an option to do multiple things like upscale and sharpen you'll have to do them separately.
Impressive software but the app has so many problems
Been using this for 2 weeks and the tech is really impressive at increasing photo quality, but the app has so many problems. It’s always very slow (I assume due to processing power on my phone which is understandable), but about 1 in 4 photos load 99% of the way and then say ‘cloud error’ right at the end, even with perfect internet. I updated the app last night to the newest version and it’s almost unusable now. Whenever I look at another app while my photos are loading, and then go back to Gigapixel, it instantly signs me out every single time. The new version is also extremely poorly optimised for small iPhone screens (I’m using an iPhone SE with larger text) and there are lots of overlapping boxes and window so I can’t click on some options. I also can no longer see any way of deleting my photos to free up storage- is the option hidden behind the unoptimised UI? Finally I often how to redownload ‘general enhance’ tool for some reason which takes a long time. This is the main tool on the app and the one I exclusively use; why is it uninstalled by default? Would pay for a subscription if there weren’t the above issues, but currently it’s too frustrating to use

Crashes ALL the time since update
Since update from Gigapixel AI this app crashes every time it is in the middle of updating a photo. Not only that but I got double charged last month for $6.99 and $49.99. I hate the new interface and the options don’t make sense.
Feature Request: Support for iPad Pro (M1 and above)
Dear Topaz Labs Team, I would like to request support for your video AI platform on iPad Pro devices, especially models running the M1 chip and above. The iPad Pro now offers the same level of performance as many Macs and would be an excellent platform for creators who prefer the flexibility and portability of a tablet. Having access to your app with full or optimized functionality (similar to the Windows and Mac versions) would greatly benefit mobile-first content creators and filmmakers on the go. Please consider adding support or a dedicated iPadOS version that takes advantage of Apple Silicon capabilities. Thank you for the great work you’re doing — looking forward to seeing your tools become even more accessible!
OK for fuzzy photos but too expensive
Tried this on trial to see what it can do. For photos of people that are blurred it does a pretty good job of sharpening the image and using AI to add detail that’s not in the original image. However, most modern mobiles have good cameras so the enhancements didn’t have much effect on the images I tried. Also the AI had some odd behaviours such as turning text in the background into nonsense. I was also interested in the upscaling capabilities but the £7.50/m sub only allow upscale to 16 MegaPixels which is almost the same as the native camera on my mobile. Superficially the enhancements do give some perceived improvements but look closer and you’ll see the AI often take liberties with the original image even at normal ‘creativity’. This imo creates an artificial image which is too far from the original to be something I’d want to say was my work. The AppStore screen shots suggest its main use is to improve close up portraits of faces rather than as a general photo enhancement tool. At a minimum of £7.50/month and far more for the premium feature upgrade that’s just too much money for too little for me to subscribe.

It’s a pretty good app, however what would make it an amazing app is being able to use multiple option without having to save and open the saved image to use a different option when it should be saving after using all the tools I wanted so I don’t have to save multiple options. But other than that it’s a solid good app.

I used iPhone and it was Absolutely horrendous quality! I used generative restore on the standard setting on a blurry picture of a woman and not only did it take forever, but the result was disgusting. It was so bad! Like so many levels bad. It was as if it was 2022 and ai was barely coming out. I used a blurry image of a woman and besides the cheap quality it BUTCHERED her face!!!! Her face and skin look like anime all airbrushed and cheap quality and unrealistic and her teeth don’t even look like teeth they look like red artifacts resembling shark fangs or ugly braces and even her pliltrum has red artifacts as if her upper lip was torn. Got her looking like a horror game character from 2002. Looking at her mouth pisses me off still. ChatGPT used to do that years ago sometimes but not anymore. It’s 2026. I’m getting a refund asap deleting this trash. Even if it was free. It would still be trash.

Use on desktop for serious work with powerful GPU
Gigapixel doesn’t really translate that well to iPhone in my opinion. Even a new iPhone doesn’t have the processing power to do justice to image manipulation in acceptable timeframes. Using Cloud processing is going to cost you a fortune if you want to process loads of photos. Put Topaz apps on a desktop with plenty of GPU power and then you have the right tools for the job.

Shockingly disappointed
Let me begin by highlighting the exceptional quality that Topaz labs offers. Their desktop applications are unparalleled, with top-notch features and outstanding customer service. I highly recommend them for photo and video enhancement and editing. Their prices are reasonable, and their subscription plans are well-balanced and justified. However, I am deeply concerned about the poor quality of their iPhone application. I tested the application on a few scuffed photos in my photo library and observed the following issues. The “face only” mode applies a smooth filter to the faces, resulting in hair follicles resembling a fractal nightmare of cobwebs. It’s almost as if it’s a Snapchat filter nightmare. The pro options do enhance the faces slightly, but I’ve noticed a severe lack of detail in the skin. The application of the pro options still seems to apply a smoothing filter to the faces and skin of the subjects, resulting in an extreme lack of detail in features like freckles, crow’s feet, and wrinkle marks. When I applied the pro version to old photos, such as slightly blurred and black-and-white images, I was disappointed to see that while it made the faces clearer, there were no colour options, and there was still a severe lack of detail in the skin. The faces appeared smooth as a baby bottom. This is simply poor quality coming from a service that primarily processes in the cloud, and you’re expected to pay for it through credits. In my honest opinion, all the options in the pro section should be free. Perhaps they could limit the number of times a day you can access the cloud service (since it’s a cloud service), and focus on developing a better quality version of the pro version.
Changes Faces
I’ll be very hesitant to use Gigapixel. I’ve found that it changes faces substantially. That makes the app a ‘No Go’.

Being an existing user of photo ai which is an excellent program the thought of being able to do it on the move really appealed. However if you can log in which is hit and miss I managed to buy some credits but the cost compared to the desktop version seems really expensive
How much?
This is a good resource and has worked pretty well on several photos during the seven day trial. However, at £500 for an annual subscription, it’s way too expensive for infrequent domestic use. Sadly, I’ve cancelled before the commitment kicks in.
Great for raw photos
I used a few times on iPhone photos and didn’t get great results, but for actual raws or photos taken with my mirrorless it has been game changing
Warning! It’s just an upsell scam!
Within one hour of paying for my Topaz account I was contacted by an account manager telling me I had to pay to upgrade to a professional account. I am not a content creator, I don’t work with licensed content, and my business nowhere near generates their income threshold for professional accounts. This is a scam - don’t get played on an annual or monthly subscription as you might not even be able to use it without paying more.
Disappointing
Unfortunately all the really useful functionality is hidden behind a credits paywall, which is disappointing considering I am user of Topaz’s desktop apps. Also from trying the free to use functions, it seems that photos taken with 48MP are downgraded to 24MP as part of the “enhancement” process? Can’t see this being any use to me on a phone I’m afraid.
Best on the market…but…
This is by far the best iOS photo enhancer available by quite some distance. The quality of the output is excellent. Most enhancers will smooth out the pictures so everything looks plastic. But Gigapixel retains and increases texture in most cases, giving some real depth to the images. But…it is sooo expensive! The web version you can buy outright but the iOS version only offers credits. 80 for £9.99 a month. I used them up in three days! 400 credits is £39.99 a month - almost five times the cost of buying the windows version outright. Wouldn’t a yearly or lifetime option be a good option? I’d happily pay a good price if I owned it outright, but am reluctant to spend hundreds for a few credits. For this reason alone I’ve knocked a couple of stars off the total for the app. Offer a lifetime or yearly subscription and I’ll add the stars back because as an enhancer this is definitely 5 star.

I’ll find a complaint with almost anything. Not Topaz. They are absolutely fantastic, and their products are absolutely outstanding. Perfect results every time

Poorly designed
Unlike Topaz’s desktop apps, the UI on this app is awful. It’s not obvious you’re using credits until you’ve run out of them. And it displays Pro settings but doesn’t tell you how to upgrade or what the cost is. Needs work.
Mixed Results
Having used Topaz PC apps for some considerable time I may have been expecting to much, however the lack of control leads to in sme cases somewhat underwhelming results.. Big step in th e right direction though.
