Good app but needs cleanup
Functionality works great and I like using it. Arranging your favourite doors should have a better setting and renaming them into something that means to you rather than a cryptic door code. In the latest version they seem to have fixed a serious security flaw which allowed a person to share his personal account with any number of people which can be a problem in a secure building.
If My Phone Breaks, I’m Screwed
I would love if this app had some redundancy built in, like a paired fob option. If my phone breaks, I can’t get in my apartment. Physical technologies have their benefits. Consolidating access to everything in their life to one device seems a little precarious.
works, but slowly
& there’s a flaw with the battery life tracking.
Love it
Nice quick smooth entries
Door Is Horrible
I doubt you’ll post this, but DOOR and the DOOR phone app both are the worst. I wish my building didn’t have it. I can’t tell you how many times I have try to open my door or building doors using this horrible thing. Also, the building has no way to enter when the power goes out. The Avalon sticks rocks in the door and you have to hope no one kicks them out!!! DOOR IS THE WORST!!
Temporary access.
Please include one time access, so delivery personnel, etc don’t maintain perpetual access to the facilities.
Front door often non responsive
Need to frequently manually enter door code and re sync device
Lags & Doesn’t Work At Times
This app sometimes lags or doesn’t open gates right away. You have to be very close to the door or gate to make it open. This wireless app is worse. Latch was better. It freezes up to when loading the unlock feature.
Great option for ppl with disabilities
Im a paraplegic and this system makes it so easy to access my building and apartment where I live!
Slow, terrible UX
I’m forced to use this by my building and i hate it
Wish it worked better
Would give a 5 star if it consistently open my front door much faster.
Practically unusable
Nothing I love more than standing at a door, unable to open it because this app is barely functional. I should not have to update an app every two days to still have the most laggy, inconsistent experience. Do better.
Not reliable
After organizing my doors, it keeps randomly displaying them out of order which is annoying because I need to look up for the door I need instead of having them in the priority I need.
Amazing Technology
Smart door access is amazing technology
Not worth the hype
Takes quite some time to connect and unlock doors
Good app but need some work
It’s cool to get into my complex and apartment with just a click, but there has been too many times where the app has froze in the middle of me using it or I have to click the button for the garage, front door, my apartment and more more than twice before I can get in.
Super Glitchy
Keeps “adding me to door”s that I use daily. Doors are up to date so idk what the problem is. Also keeps telling me to turn my Bluetooth on when it’s already on. Super annoying
Not user friendly
I feel like it’s been real difficult on the user friendly side. I wish there was an easy way to favorite doors on one page so I didn’t have to look them up by name every time.
Love It
Ever since we got door smart, it’s so nice not having to use a key. Every resident should be like our’s.
Door lock
Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t
Needs refinement
These locks are a good idea. It’s convenient to access our building and home with our phone. But the unlocking process is slow, unreliable, and frustrating. And, when the app fails to work as expected, the physical locks and numeric pads on the doors are very tricky to interact with, often not registering or misreading a touch.
Bluetooth Actions Unreliable
1 time in 4 it connects to the door, then sits for 30 seconds doing nothing until the Bluetooth connection times out and I can retry. Way more often than this happened with the Latch app. I’m left standing in the hallway like an idiot.
Nice app
Love this app! Unlocking my door with my phone and controlling the lights and thermostat from anywhere has made everyday life so much easier.
Setup Does Not Function With Some Email Addresses
I was required to get this app because my apartment complex uses it. Similar to its predecessor app, Latch, this one is not able to send setup emails to Outlook accounts. Yes, it’s probably an issue with Microsoft blocking them but the end result is that it is not possible to set up the app. I’ve been forced to key in a manual numeric code on the door for months. Thanks, Door.
An innovation that was never needed.
This app is infuriating 75% of the time. Currently it won’t let me re-order my door order which is frustrating beyond belief when you live in a 300 unit building woth dozens of doors you CAN access but only need to use the same 5 ones daily. It lags with receivers frequently, which is less than ideal when trying to access the building when it’s dark out. This whole app is an “innovation” that wasn’t needed when a regular old key fob works infinitely better.
Lags
Lags too much, not very efficient
Doors don’t always open
Would rather use a traditional key. The app tracks you as you come and go, which is a breach of privacy and the doors don’t always work. I prefer keys.
Works! (Mostly…)
Well, my biggest complaint with this app is, it’s persistence. I travel. Frequently. And it is annoying that if you don’t use the app on a daily basis, as long as you out. Not that logging in with a password. That’s saved in the iPhone password. System is such a big deal, but it is annoying that it doesn’t have longer persistence of login to make it easier for a resident to access the system.
Watch intermittently logs out
The old latch Apple Watch app was reliable but the new Door app often logs out (asking me to login on phone or by email which is impossible to type on the Watch…) around when I get disconnected in the elevator or switching wifi. This makes the Apple Watch app basically unusable which used to be the best feature.
Still hate it
I hated this app when it was called latch and I still hate it when it’s called Door. I wish my building would give us a key fob instead of this stupid telephone based key system. The fact that I memorize three different seven digit codes to get into different parts of the building if my phone is dead is absolutely unacceptable and my least favorite part of this stupid app
Fix your app!
Open app to unlock my door, App popup: “enable Bluetooth connections”, with “go to settings” as the only option. Go to settings, Bluetooth is already enabled… everytime I open the app this pops up, and Bluetooth has always been enabled!!! Fix your app!
CarPlay not included
Not available in a CarPlay
Security
Does not let tenant or owner of apt know that someone has come in
Slow
Sometimes takes a good 5-10 seconds to detect and unlock the door
Widget doesn’t work
Widget doesn’t work
Poor design
So annoying you can’t add to apple wallet in order to use when phone is off
Subpar
Slow, clunky, buggy, and you have no choice whether you use it or not. Wish I was able to use a competitor instead
