Behind a paywall
This app is completely behind a paywall even though it is not advertised to be. You waste 10 minutes of your time setting up an account just to be hit by fees. Don’t waste your time.
Great app!
I’ve loved the outfits that have been created by my AI so far. I like that it finds similar wardrobe pieces based on the outfit pictures that I upload. It’s very user friendly and visually appealing. I do have one suggestion: It would be nice to filter the looks that I’ve saved to my profile by the type of event that I’m going to.
Value debatable
Feels like of like a bait and switch. I have premium (pro) and the app wants me to update to pro MAX if I want accuracy. Like if I scan a tank top and it thinks it’s a romper or if it’s a midi skirt and it thinks it’s a dress, there’s no way to correct that besides paying more. And it appears there’s no way to correct it. We should be able to type in what the item is if it is vastly different. The shopping feature will recommend items that are $200-400, there should definitely be a filter or preference. The get to know your style feature isn’t really doing much, like it keeps showing me different tennis shoes or black t shirts.
Honest Review
Wish I could give feedback to the AI - that would help a lot. And sometimes it doesn't take the weather into account? Mixed weird colours. When I first got this it was awesome - now there's more AI and it's worse? Think chat gpt is actually better at it 🤷♀️

The Clueless Closet I’ve Always Wanted!
I’ve wanted a Clueless-style virtual closet for years, and Essembl is the closest I’ve found! It’s incredibly easy to use, and I love that the outfit suggestions seem to get better and more personalized the more clothing I add. The one feature I’d really love to see is a way to interact with other Essembl users—sharing outfits, seeing how other people style pieces and getting inspiration from the community would make the app even better. Overall, I’m really enjoying it. It makes shopping my own closet fun, and I’m excited to see how it continues to improve as I add more of my wardrobe!
Subscriptions only app
Doesn’t have an option for a free app. App is allegedly valued at $60/year or $10 A WEEK. Checkbox to enable it to $30/year. Attempting to back out will give you $20/year. 3 day free trial. It’s an AI app built by AI that is overpriced to sucker you in with your insecurities to “improve”. You’re better off asking GPT to copy the concept for you for free with the free photo limit provided by GPT.
The Marketing > The Actual App
The concept is great, it’s something I’ve always thought about wanting to do… but this execution needs A LOT of work. First, the subscriptions are so confusing??? There are multiple options that all seem to be labeled “Premium,” but somehow have different monthly/yearly prices. It shouldn’t be this hard to figure out what you’re actually paying for or what the difference is between the plans. Second, the Instagram ads were honestly so deceptive lol. They make it look like you can throw a whole pile of clothes together, take a picture, and the app will instantly recognize every individual item. I already knew there was no way that was going to work perfectly, so I laid a bunch of shirts flat on the floor where they were all clearly visible instead. Even then, some of the AI-generated results were VERY questionable. Some weren’t even the same top I uploaded. I gave up that night with frustration and anger because I had already paid for the year plan… A few weeks later, I decided to try again and upload each item individually. It definitely recognizes them better this way, but now the images are pixelated and blurry once uploaded. Seriously??? You can’t even click on the image to enlarge it and actually see it better. The cropping tool is absolute garbage.. what’s the purpose of it? lol && then there are the shopping suggestions/ads for clothes I could buy. I don’t want to see more clothes I could buy lol. The whole reason I downloaded a digital closet/wardrobe app is to actually USE the clothes I already own. I want the app to help me organize my closet, put outfits together, rediscover things I forgot I had, and get more use out of my existing wardrobe. Shopping recommendations feel completely unnecessary, especially when the core closet features still need improvement. & to make things even funnier, if you want “better” AI-generated images, there’s now a MAX plan you have to pay even more for ($119.99). Like come on, guys. Before adding another paid tier, can we perfect the features people are already paying for? I really wanted to love this app because the concept is exactly what I was looking for, and honestly I can think of a MILLION features and upgrades that would make it amazing. But right now, it feels like there’s so much focus on subscriptions, upsells, and shopping when the actual digital closet experience still needs a lot of work. The potential is absolutely there. I just wish the product itself lived up to what the ads make it look like. Do you guys need a product or operations manager because… hello… I’m here lol
Categorize outfits
I am obsessed so far. I wish we could categorize outfits like “going out fit” or “workout fit” etc. also wish we had more options for categories such as jackets/ outerwear and dresses. I’ve had this app since yesterday and I am consumed ! The AI doesn’t seem to be learning my style but still it’s helpful I can assemble outfits manually
Must Pay to Use, then Pay again
You can’t even see how this app works until you pay. I paid for the yearly membership, then spent hours uploading all of my clothes… then find out that they won’t actually generate outfits until you upgrade your plan to the “MAX” plan. It’s super deceptive. I’m filing a complaint with Apple and getting my money back. What a trashy company to bait and switch. Deceptive business practices. What a waste of time and money. Greedy owners.
A great app but…
I wish I didn’t have to pay to actually use the app, I already downloaded it but now I can’t use anything cause I have to pay for it all, it’s a great app but I don’t wanna pay just to use regular stuff on the app.

Ridiculous pricing and no free trial
After going through the long set up, the app asks for $10 a week to actually use any of the AI features. No free trial option. How do I know any of the features even work?. How do I know this isn’t just an AI wrapper around a basic concept? There’s no free trial period, not even a day offered. No thanks.
Great Start
I am really enjoying this app so far! It’s worth the subscription cost IMO. My biggest suggestion would be to create a separate category for outerwear and dresses - right now they all go under ‘top pieces’ which doesn’t let you get a really accurate wardrobe breakdown.
Absolutely no way to even view the app features without paying first
I was so excited for this app. Every millennial in these reviews is saying the same thing: we’ve been waiting for this since Clueless. I was really stoked to check it out. However, after going through all the set up, including providing my email and a selfie, I learned that there is an immediate paywall that does not allow you to see ANY features within the app. Not even the layout of it, there’s no way to bypass it and explore the app. I understand development is tough and I know making money off an app can be difficult. But I will never use an app that I can’t get a feel for before I give a company the ability to charge me. Even with a free trial (which took two attempts to close the payment prompt before a trial was even offered) still requires you to authorize a payment to your Apple ID. I’ve been burned by apps before and no longer give anything my credit card information before I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Once again, I’m not asking for access to actual features without payment. But consumers should be able to access the actual interface of the app so they can read instructions, see how things are organized, and decide if they want to try it before handing over credit card numbers. I don’t love that now, these developers have access to my email, I’m assuming my full name since I signed up with my AppleID, and a photo of me, all for something I can’t even use. I couldn’t even get confirmation that the AI program could handle and account for my vivid dyed hair or tattoos, which is the only reason I was willing to give them the selfie to begin with. Currently unimpressed, but I will be keeping an eye on this moving forward, because I still really love the idea of this app.
Great idea, poor execution
So I really like the idea of this app and overall it’s decent. The UI is clean and pretty intuitive, lots of cool features, and it’s awesome how you can add all your clothes digitally. However, there are soooo many bugs. The AI is pretty bad at picking out outfits, half the time the outfit is only a shirt with no shoes, pants, or anything else. They really need to iron out some of the bugs or I’ll unfortunately have to cancel my membership because with the current issues it’s simply not worth it.

Seems like it could be great
I added most of my clothes and accessories to my wardrobe. The AI generator keeps adding 2 of the same type of accessory (scarves, for example)… is there something I’m missing? Would be awesome if y’all could add new categories for accessories: scarves, belts, jewelry, etc… I do like the fit check feature!

I downloaded the app figured it would be easy to keep track of my clothing capsule. Paid for the app, uploaded all my items and first week was okay. Now the app ignores my location, doesnt use weather data- tells me to wear a layered outfit in 98 degree weather, the suggested outfits look and feel sloppy. It suggested the same combo of tee shirts, workout shorts and shoes, and mixes in the same two pants. Not worth it. Won’t be continuing my subscription once it’s done.

Outfits saved not loading
I love the app so far! Have uploaded all my items and love seeing what the app comes up with. Some of my items I would have never thought styling together. However, I have about 45 saved outfits. Only the first 9 are loading. It has been this way for over a week now. I can’t access all my saved outfits and it’s very frustrating!
Awful outfits
The options they have been giving me are horrendous. It worked great at first and then it’s gone down hill. They aren’t even giving me cute matching outfits just horrendous things put together but I do like some things…
Work in Progress
I’m really excited about this app and hope that developers make some improvements. For instance, tops should be able to be distinguished. Right now “tops” includes all shirt, dresses and jackets which prevents layering. Additionally, I hope we can get some better/more variety of shopping recommendations. Last, I would like to be able to search for a saved outfit from a specific piece of clothing. Otherwise, it seems to be doing well so far.

Needs customization options
Enjoying this app, I have 90% of wardrobe uploaded now. Things that could be improved: app needs options to set custom prompts with memory to define preferences when it comes to trends. For example, ‘do not mix gold with silver’, ‘do not suggest dresses with tops’, ‘do not suggest leggings with workwear’ etc. Alternatively better options to tag items, like ‘dress’, ‘work out’, ‘hiking’. Currently the app suggests my fleeces when trying to generate outfits for going out, so custom prompts would be helpful. Also the option to edit a saved look as with some, I like 80% of items but there will be something random I want to get rid of - but I don’t want to have to thumbs down.
Good start and then the good times fade
It’s a pretty good app, in that I can easily add items and it will generate some new combinations. but the AI hasn’t figured out my style yet. It keeps recommending janky items with nice items even when I’ve repeatedly rejected them-sometimes repeatedly in the same AI generated session. 🫠 It will also fixate on certain items in the suggestions. Like, dude, I know I have better options than that. It just seems random sometimes. Also, even when I train it to know that whatever color it thinks it is in the picture is actually something dofferent (eg, it thinks it’s light grey but it’s actually light lilac, or brown leather sandals for a dusty pink leather color.) it still rejects it later on when it give my outfit feedback/a grade. Also, I don’t love that it gives you this feedback as if it’s not the one who recommended it to you in the first place? Also, I do y like the tone of having g the grade and feeling like the AI has the final say. I’d like to rebut that grade. Finally, doesn’t allow me to swap pieces on the page. All I can think of is how much water is being wasted for clothing… I’ve already cancelled my subscription and am looking for something else less AI.
It’s a good app
It’s an overall amazing app, but I literally can’t use it without paying which I think is kind of ridiculous. I feel like it should be able to be used for free and you need to pay for more features, and or smarter AI. But overall good app, as long as you’re willing to pay.

Super application, facile à utilisé et simplifie grandement mes matins ! Ce serait vraiment intéressant de pouvoir ajouter une photo de notre outfit lorsqu’on le porte, pour mieux visualiser les looks en situation réelle et garder une trace de nos combinaisons préférées. Aussi, ce serait super pratique d’avoir une option pour indiquer certains morceaux comme « non disponibles » (par exemple lorsqu’ils sont au lavage), afin d’éviter de les inclure dans la planification des tenues.
Great idea, but I never got to try it.
“Please spend ten minutes telling us about yourself.” Okay. “Create an account.” Fine. “Great! Now give us $60.” No. “WAIT! $20!” Still no. “🎁 SURPRISE!!!” What did I win? “Another opportunity to give us money!” The frustrating part is that this looked like it could be fun. If I’d been allowed to photograph ten shirts and five pairs of pants, gotten a few surprisingly good outfit combinations, and thought, Hey, this actually sees combinations I don’t, I might happily have paid $20/year. Instead, after completing the onboarding and creating an account, I hit a paywall before I could find out whether the app was any good. You didn’t lose a customer because the price was too high. You lost one because you wouldn’t let him try the product.

I like it, but I would prefer it if I could select more accessories when I create an outfit. I wear glasses everyday and often wear multiple jewlery. Other then that, sometimes I have to take several pictures before the app gets what I’m wearing, but other then that, it’s great.
Good organizer, Bad planner & UX
Great at taking photos and recreating your clothes. But then the pieces were all different sizes and looked awful on the generated boards. Half the UI was broken (Buttons that did nothing, pages loading states messing up, delete photo not working, etc), and the AI chatbot is dumb :/
Good Idea - Needs Work
Things to improve: I try to set the settings for business formal or whatever it is im doing and what i need to wear but it doesn’t seem like the AI is integrating it into its suggestions as well. Also when i click on rating notifications it doesn’t open to the rating just the home page. i feel like some suggestions are a bit repetitive and say i am a hijabi the modest suggestions don’t really consider that. Positives: it does pick up on bigger items well but smaller pieces of jewelry i can tell it struggles but whatever. i love that it takes the outfit creation off my shoulders i always wanted a stylist. i love that it suggests where to buy things i wish i could filter for materials like cotton only. love the jewelry suggestions along with outfits outfit feedback helps me with future saves.

You can do way more things without paying and the outfits it makes are most of the time pretty good. Please do not change this it’s what makes you better than everyone else 🙏

One thing missing
I love the app!! Only thing missing is the option to create our own outfits without ai.. not every outfit need accessories and i can't seem to remove them from certain outfits...
