Puzzles Exhibit Very Little Logic
Don’t waste your time with this FREE game because the bonkers puzzles will drive you insane. For instance the desk drawer in the rangers station shows wooden rectangles and the picture of said rectangles in the utility tunnel (where the screwdriver bit is located) show a series of those rectangles with some pressed and some not, but when you go to use that info there’s no logical link and this is proven by using the hint system which doesn’t explain how each step connects. If you want a challenge with physics from the actual universe… play The Room series by Fireproof Games. Aurora Hills can stay in West Virginia and be totally forgotten.
Slow burn plot, tricky but logical puzzles
It takes a bit to get going, the plot points at the end of chapter one come at absolutely no surprise, but it is a mystery to solve. The puzzles are firmly based in obvious logical conclusions. At no time did I need a hint because the answers weren’t even vaguely associated with the puzzles like some other games. I did use a couple hints because the puzzles did escalate in difficulty at the end of 1-1. Overall, well paced, enjoyable, and super relaxing with the high def nature scenery and ambient wildlife sounds. Until writing this review, I didn’t even realize that the only real music in the game was during the brief cut scenes.
I love the game
5… but chapter 2 is a little hard and I don’t. I’m just playing this for a review OK and 10 year-old I figured it out yeah.

Easy/Medium Puzzles
This is such a great developer and I’m so excited to be being their newest games! All the same styling as their previous game series: Meridian 157. Awesome graphics and the mapping is super easy to use. The puzzles aren’t very hard but they are challenging enough to puzzle you for a moment. Love the pacing. So excited for Chapter 2!

Unique and so refined, but..
This is not just your average iOS point and click hidden object type game. It’s so mature and refined, both the realistic and gritty art style and the clever, challenging, and well-integrated puzzle design. I’ve truly never played a game by any developer that feels the same as both this and Meridian 157, they’re instantly recognizable as being a certain type of style. A couple puzzle related points of pain though. The first puzzle when the lights go out makes no sense. It sets it up to be two graphs that you just point to the symbols, only to learn you are supposed to… draw a line? So the directions are relative? It’s hard to explain but you will know what I mean. On hard mode, this is about as counterintuitive puzzle design as it gets. The other one was the paper towel. The fact that you are supposed to click AND DRAG is pretty much impossible to know since no other interaction in the game uses a “drag” motion. Again, another one I had to look up which spoiled the fun of solving it. But anyways… Highly recommended, can’t wait for next chapter
Puzzles are illogical and silly
The atmosphere is great and the setting and backstory interesting. But some of the puzzles are so random and the solutions are not logical. I finally just turned on the hints and used them whenever the puzzle wasn’t apparent.
Frustrating
The game started out fine but when I find tools or clues they don’t work. There are no hints. The navigation is frustrating. This should be fun but going through the same half dozen rooms with no instructions or clues and no results is frustrating. A waste of time.

This game has no sound on an iPhone. Totally ruins it. Also need a walkthrough guide as you have no idea what to do. Great idea, poorly executed.
Good game with a small hiccup.
Great graphics! Pleasantly creepy music! Some fun puzzles, but a couple of the puzzles make no sense to me. Especially the drawer in the ranger station. Overall, enjoyable!
Great Game
Fantastic game with amazing gameplay and graphics but disappointing at the end of chapter 1 as you cannot continue as chapter 2 has not been developed yet and no release date, so chapter 1 can be completed in a very short time then what?? How long do you have to wait for the next part??
I have no sound
I just started the game and there is absolutely no sound whatsoever. Please fix the no sound issue so I can enjoy your game and hopefully buy the second part. Iphone 14 plus, IOS 26.5
Great game that’s played out in WV!!!
I love the game and love more that the setting is in West Virginia! I’ve lived here my whole life and it’s such a beautiful state. I’m curious if the writer of the game is from WV? This game is entertaining and enjoyable. It can be played independently or with your family. I like how the hint icon helped so much in guiding me. If not I would have probably gotten fed up . I can’t wait to play the next chapter!

Gorgeous but extremely hard
This game is stunning (though there is no audio if you play on your iPhone) but the puzzles are illogically hard, and some of the solutions don’t actually make sense which is frustrating. I’ve been playing games like this for 10 years and I’ve never had to use hints so much…. It’s a real brain bender.

For its type of point and click game, it does a very good job. If you like that type, I would highly recommend it, however, be warned, it’s very short. Then, of course, you have to buy the next chapter to keep going. It would have been reasonable to combine the chapters and charge a decent price but, by splitting it all up, you end up paying a lot for what is essentially 1 game.

I think it has potential but no storyline to follow so I kept having to use hints in order to know what to do next. This made me not want to actually play the game but I wanted to know what happened to Jen

Great Intro
Super short but a great intro. Great design! The puzzles could use a bit less obscurity in terms of what to do, at least at the start. I think people should be invested in the story more before the puzzles get to be that obscure because, the first time around, it really disrupted the flow of the story. Part of that is figuring out the style of puzzles this developer produces but there could have been more appeal to intuition on some puzzles. The cut scenes were excellent with feelings of nostalgia, eeriness and coziness. I look forward to the continuation!

nice follow on to meridian 157, minor irks
I liked the meridian series, mostly. Familiar feel. But also some of the quirks. some of the puzzles I can't understand the solutions. another problem throughout lots of tiny, complex symbols you need to distinguish. But the graphics are poor, so it is difficult to get right. This is on 11 inch ipad. Need to clean up the images. Otherwise enjoyable. Also a bit short.

One of the best games I’ve ever played. The puzzles are intricate and well designed. Challenging but not too much so. Plus there are hints/solutions if needed. Great graphics, storyline and scenes. Absolutely love this game!

Disappointed!
Was enjoying this find of a game, different from my usual. However, now stuck as the rangers truck is not recognising the keys I’ve found. I’m being told it’s one of two trucks & I don’t need to use it at this point!!!! Any suggestions so I can progress on my journey please? Sx

I assume / hope the next two chapters of this beautifully constructed puzzler will be of comparable duration to its predecessor (Meridian 157) instead of this which feels more like a prologue.

Tedious, slow…didn’t bother after being so bored just getting to workplace and trying to make coffee. Waste of effort and time!
Wonderful puzzles, but far too short
I love the Meridian series, so I was excited when Aurora Hills finally came out yesterday; I had been checking Novasoft’s updates since last year! The games were fun, although largely easier than the Meridian ones, and I like the storyline. My main issue is that, in about four hours, I got through the entire thing. Longer gameplay would have merited five stars.
