It’s has great content
But the last few days there hasn’t been an opportunity to have the text read. I read appreciate this and so do many I have recommended it to. This is such a help to dyslexic people and many others so please reinstate it. Thanks. Also, please will the man who is reading take time, stop at full stops, so it’s not sooooooo hurried as if he wants to get through it as fast as possible. I really do appreciate the app.
Daily Streak Anyhow Resets
The daily streak is still NOT working correctly after months of feedback!! Pls provide the daily record of the completion date & time. And pls fix the issue!! Thanks!

Black on black, 1st devotional app seen that loves black background, no simple back and forth. It is prisonlike, not showing options without going back and forth

Hello Glad that i can now access EDWJ on my phone however the further study questions are not there and the scriptures are not organized in verses. Would be nice to have some adjustments. Also, the further study scriptures are quite lengthy…whole chapters? Should be looked into The lengthy scriptures have returned!🥲

Having enjoyed the simplicity of the App proir to this update it’s disappointing that an attempt has been made to fix something that wasn’t broken! Please remove the annoying pop up for those who aren’t interested in accessing the contemporary devotions etc. and simply wish to mark reading/devotional as complete. Even skipping creating an account has disabled the functionality of the classic devotional. Please restore this feature or remove it completely. Thank you.

Good
This is an excellent work. Can you please add the further study questions. Thank you so much. In addition, when you want to use it on an iPad, it remains like a phone page. Please can you keep all the days on so that you can go backwards to the start of an edition that is day 1, currently you can only go backwards for a month, so you can’t review the 1st of November if today is 13th December.
Isn’t always insightful
I often find that the explanations given are not that insightful and seem to miss the mark. For instance saying that Jesus was caught by surprise at the Father turning His back on Him as He bore the sin of the world. Jesus was quoting Psalm 22 when He said My God, My God etc. This contains a wonderful promise and it’s not mentioned.

Good app with one major bug
If you live in Australia or New Zealand ( or similar time zones), the Daily Streak may not work reliably as it is based on UK time and will result in your Daily Streak resetting to zero if you vary your reading times
No Internet
We live in Zambia where power is intermittent and our internet servers are often inaccessible. When we travel to certain parts of the country there is no access at all. This means we cannot download our EDWJ readings, and even the previous days are not accessible. This is very frustrating. We used to be able to download the whole 2 months reading which was so much easier. Is there any way you can provide the daily readings in a more user friendly form? We so appreciate the daily readings and have done so for many years. Many thanks, Kathy Hurrell
Reading Aloud
This app was Excellent, except taking out the Reading Aloud has diminished it significantly. Some Days I need a encouragement and the voice helps when my chronic nerve pain feels more present , worse
Classic Selwyn🩷🙏🏻
I grew up with Selwyn’s EDWJ and he has been a great start to my day for the last 40 years. HE’S one of the best. Only thing I noticed with the app every now and then a couple of days of the readings don’t have the option to play, which I now use as my eyes aren’t what they used to be. Many thx🙏🏻
Upgrade Suggestions
I love the app. It’s easy to use. However, I would love to see a highlight option, so I can highlight text in the devotional for reference. I also miss the discussion questions of the print classic devotional.
Daily streak
Can you not reset my daily streak when I am sleep in on Saturdays? It is still within the 24-hour day. How do you calculate the day anyway? Please give more allowance for the 24-hour day cycle. I like the devotional but I’m upset that my streak gets reset when I sleep in on weekends. I need the sleep! But I’m not going to wake up at the usual 6am because this is the only day I can sleep in and rest and rejuvenate. Please reconsider how you set the daily streak. Today is 11 Jan 2025 at my time zone. I have just overslept for 3 hours past my usual time to open the app and my streak is reset. I am very upset. Are you able to do something about it? If not, can you just remove the daily streak? It does not motivate me. It demotivates me. I follow the devotional everyday. If you need IT help, consider contacting me and I can help link you up with people who can help you solve this problem. Thank you

A useful tool
Having the App means I can do my devotions at any time and anywhere. The only downside for me is that the app is in the KJV. I grew up using the NKJV and so is what I’m used to. As a result the many familiar chapters and verses don’t sound the same. When at home, I can use my NKJV bible but when I travel, having to carry the bible defeats the purpose of the App. All the same still very useful.
Awaiting full experience
I love EDWJ and have used Waverley Abbey devotionals all my life. It is exciting having EDWJ online now as it is easier to read and even free. Personally, I would like to have the questions back; the 2 questions before the prayer that is. They help in the further study and meditation after. Also, please would Topz, YPs and Inspiring Women be online as well? Can there please be an option to download a PDF version to share with people who don’t have steady access to internet? It gets quite frustrating when the material doesn’t load when it needs to be used.

Thank you for the app and more importantly, thank you for that which the App provides access to. The teaching is so relevant and well presented. By that I mean a brilliant blend of classic and contemporary. I would though love to have the possibility of highlighting text in the texts that I store for future reference. Is such a facility is your planning? Again many thanks for your contribution to the Body of Christ. For making quality resources available to those who malign otherwise not have access to such materials.

Great Bible notes
Loving this free Bible reading app. I like the online journal too. Which allows to to make your own notes on the days reading. This would be particularly useful for anyone who does their daily reading away from home. The only things that could make it a tiny bit better is A) the ability to highlight the text. I find this really helps me to absorb the important points. B) ability to copy and paste salient parts of reading into that days journal. At the moment I can only paste whole reading.
Easily could be better
The key Bible verses is clearly displayed, and bigger than the main font, but for some reason there are arrows so that you can see it in a different page made slightly bigger. So this doesn’t add anything. Also there is what you’d think would be a link to the main passage, however all that does is open up the key Bible verse again. So you have repetitive ways of seeing the key verse but no way of seeing the passage unless you scroll right to the bottom of the page. There is no capacity for reading the verse in other translations which is very frustrating, and also no way of seeing the verses or chapters that are on each side of the passage. So it’s okay for reading the study, as long as you are in a good internet zone, but no good for exploring the Bible verses that the study is expanding on.

Being that I don’t have any extra money to give you a donation if I could, I would, but I do enjoy this app. It helped me tremendously in the short time that I’ve been on it. I hope and pray that you will not make me cut yourself off for me because I cannot give donation, so I want to thank you for the time that I’ve had with you because I’m afraid that you’re gonna cut me off because I don’t have a donation do with the donations and if I could, I would give a donation, but I honestly don’t have it, but I think you like like I said before for the time we had together I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now I came upon you by accident. It was in my mind. A great accident of a prayer answered, but I think you and I understand and Godspeed to the glory of God and his son Christ for the spirit of the Holy Ghostflowing ministry that you have I believe in hope that someone can give you a donation, but I can’t. Wrong date?!?!
I’ve loved the writings of Selwyn Hughes for 30 years (and even knew him personally), so I was excited to see the release of this app a few weeks ago. Its simple and elegant, BUT…it has the wrong date in every devotional. It says it’s one day earlier than it actually is. I’ve emailed them several times about it and they keep saying it’s fixed, but it’s not. I’ve even tried deleting and redownloading, but it’s still wrong. Seems like a very simple fix to me. Granted, it’s a little thing, but it’s frustrating. Five stars if you get this fixed!
