Brilliant for building real communities
I run a growing community across the UK and CLIQ has genuinely made organising our events so much easier. We run everything from walks and jogs to hikes, socials, yoga and other wellbeing events, and having one place where people can discover what’s happening, sign up and connect has been a massive help. Also being able to have chats where people can connect and chat outside of events is amazing too. The team behind CLIQ have also been brilliant with us personally. Really supportive, responsive and genuinely interested in helping communities like ours grow rather than it just feeling like another events platform. Still loads of potential for where the app can go, but I’m really excited to keep using it as our community grows. Would definitely recommend it to anyone building a real-life community 🙌
Sharing data including your face
You HAVE to use a photo of your face even if you want to remain private. If you don’t your account gets blocked even after putting all of your information in. Furthermore they opening share all of your data with other companies. Do not waste your time and use Meetup instead
Great app to find events and make new friends
I like this app it is great to find social events free or ticketed and meet new people. I’ve been to a few events through finding them on here. The only thing I would say is the UX (user experience) design needs working on. I am unable to view events in a chronological order and I am usually sat there for ages scrolling to find events that are coming up soon. It would be good if you could view events like a calendar so you could easily see what’s happening when!
Good app but needs improvement
This is a great app for discovering new events and groups, however there are many problems with it. Firstly, although there’s an option to save events, there’s nowhere to find these after they’ve been saved. Also, events are organised in no clear order at all (chronological or location based would be great - maybe an option to see events across a map would be good?). The app also glitches a lot, freezes and also crashes - meaning you have to go back and scroll through loads of events again till you get to where you were. Another thing is if an event poster posts a series of events, they all show up in this list and you have to scroll for ages past them which is really frustrating. Can these please be grouped together? Overall it’s a great premise and really useful, but it does require a lot more extra work from the user’s perspective than it should.
Privacy issues
I cannot access my tickets without giving my location to the app. The login flow break if I do *not* want to share my location, and the PII. I just want my ticket, I don’t even want to use the app

A fantastic app to find new hobbies, meet new people and connect, especially in a new area. Very easy to use and such a variety of options on the app, highly recommend!
Account blocked for no reason
I am Asian, but my profile photo was judged as inappropriate and my account was blocked. This makes me question whether your moderation system contains racial bias. Because my account was blocked, I could not access my ticket and felt excluded from the very community that was supposed to be inclusive. The experience made very frustrated. After I left my initial review, I received an email from your team. However, it seemed that the real issue was not understood. Instead of acknowledging the possibility that your AI or moderation system may incorrectly flag people from underrepresented racial backgrounds, the response focused on how my low rating had hurt your feelings. The problem is not that I left a negative review. The problem is that your system may be biased, causing innocent users to be unfairly excluded from a queer community space. The fact that this possibility does not appear to have been seriously considered is deeply concerning. I believe this app has a serious issue that needs to be investigated and addressed.
Worst app ever
Compulsorily ask u to give all the permission you have, otherwise u wouldn’t be able to use the app. U have to give permission to location sharing and notification first before you can enter the page.
Run club female founder
I’m a founder of a female run club and I’m new to cliq but any questions or queries I need gets answered by Lucy Wright promptly and efficiently via email. Really appreciate the speedy replies!
Incredible experience as an organiser and as an attendee
I have been using cliq to host our charity fundraising events for Empower LATAM UK, and we have had the best experience. Super easy to use and manage the balances and metrics post event - also massive shout out to Lucy W for her support! Every time we had a question we got a super quick response from her. You are a legend. I have also used cliq to attend some community events, super super user friendly but also very easy to find new communities!
Too invasive
Tried to buy tickets to an event was forced to download this app. the app then demands that you enable precise location sharing notifications and upload a photograph of yourself before it will proceed any further. Does not give any reasons for why this is needed to simply purchase tickets.
if you are in USA, this is a bad copy of meetup
Not great. I’m already a member of meetup for years and thought this might be a fun addition for me but it was not. I plan on going to the uk and will try the app again when Im there visiting. If you are in America, Just make your own group in meetup -people join fast and easily. I have a few different things I got into because of joining groups that looked cool and then I eventually made my own group when I wanted to do something that I didn’t find on there already. people joined the group fast in both my ocala club and my palm beach club. So whether or not its a big city does not matter.
Can’t make Clubs outside of UK
Would love to use this to start something up (USA) but I can’t start a club without a location, and all the locations listed are in the UK as tags, rather than using a map location marker. Bummer.

Thank you CLIQ for making it possible to run my community. I use CLIQ both to find events for myself and to list events for my community and it couldn’t be easier & smoother. No other app compares (& I’ve tried plenty)
Fly me there?
Love seeing events in England and Australia when I’m 10,000 km away. Do you cover my flight and hotel? No? Then why show me clubs on the other side of the planet? This isn’t misleading, it’s a comedy routine. Please fix the home page ! 😂

So far this has been a great app for community events! I’ve attended some amazing events and met such wonderful people! There seemed to be quite a few teething issues at the start but the app has improved massively now.
