No need to go through complicated settings, or fumbling around. Simple, reliable service, which seems comparable to any as you might expect from T-Mobile or other major carrier!
Unreliable connection and poor customer service
Disappointing experience during a 20-day trip. I purchased a 20gb data plan with unlimited calls and texts, but experienced repeated call drops mid-conversation across 7-8 different phone numbers, with multiple failures happening on the same day. I also had sudden network outages where I couldn't connect to the internet for several minutes at a time throughout the day. When I contacted customer support with detailed evidence (screenshots of dropped calls, specific phone numbers affected), they were dismissive and repeatedly blamed "signal conditions on the receiving party's end" despite the pattern occurring consistently across multiple different numbers and days. They refused to acknowledge it could be a service issue on their end and denied any refund. The unreliable calls made it genuinely difficult to make reservations and communicate during my trip. If you need dependable voice calls while traveling, I'd look elsewhere. calling feature they advertise as "unlimited talk" was unreliable when I needed it most.
Reliable - Easy to use - Good support
Those three titles sum up this app. I have used it three consecutive years for travel and have had no issues. I am actually using it to type this review right now while I am out of country. You won’t require a physical sim or to leave your home and the activation is simple once you follow the instructions. Best of all they have a GREAT support team that will assist you in the event of any glitches.
Sends spam emails even after unsubscribing & complaints
Good price and product, but be aware that they will send spam emails without explicit opt-in and will continue doing so even if you unsubscribe. I complained to Twilio who said they’d take care of it and the spam still continued.
No more China VPN
Was happy for a while as the China Esim came with a built-in VPN. But not anymore, so really disappointing

I was a bit confused when installing, so I reached out to customer support and received a response in minutes. They were very helpful and kind and got my problem all sorted out!
Internet is very slow
I was using bytesim in Asia and it worked well, but in Europe and Mexico the internet is so slow that you can’t even open the app

Spam Sales Calls
Not sure whether the fault is with ByteSIM or the local Spanish provider, but purchased a 28 days Spain eSIM which included a local number. This was needed as I am in Spain for 4 weeks and as such handy to have a local mobile number. 2 days from activating, and bearing in mind nobody (not even the wife) had my new number, started receiving sales calls from a Barcelona number!! ByteSIM selling the numbers for spam, or Lebara who are the partner in this instance. Either way, very annoying.
Great in China but sux in Australia

No real unlimited
I got an esim with „unlimited“ 5G data plan and tried to used it in germany. It connects to O2 provider, i got 20mbits 1m next to my friends phone which is getting between 200-250 connected to the same radio mast through the same provider. After using 5GB the internet got blocked and wasn usable anymore even with best network recieval and healthy connection

Doesn’t work most of the time
I used byte sim for travel to Hong Kong and Europe and connection quality was very poor. My wife got an esim from a retailer and using the same network provider she had much better reception (in Europe). I tried getting help and was given instructions which were complicated at best. Will not be using this provider in future.

Great Esim and cheap
Used it for the first time in Japan. Great service, very easy!! Now I’m going to Korea and buying one for there too. I have an iPhone XR and it worked perfectly fine. Apply pay works on it too.
Horrible customer service
Bought a package which should have included a number, it did not. Contacted support through their WhatsApp service and they had horrible support. They even refused to give a refund even though I requested it within an hour of purchase. Horrible company, use any other eSIM service.
Not as advertised
Purchased a 5G "HIGH SPEED" Unlimited eSim. Works only in 4G, slowspeed and data capped only in 20GB. eSim will stop working instead of throttling. FAIR DATA USAGE is understandable, but cutting it not acceptable. But 5 star for costumer service. Thanks.

Bought 5G Unlimited but not working
I purchased 5G Unlimited plan for 3 days for my MY trip, internet stopped working after one day and the app shown 12.55GB of usage. I don't mind if it stated clearly about the FUP so I can better plan everything out, but got data stopped only after a day caused so much problem for my trip.
Basically, too good to be true.
Bought an eSIM from them for New Zealand that said "unlimited data (5G Network)". Needless to say it's misleading as can possibly be, it is unlimited data but not at 5G speeds. After 2GB it slowed down to 5Mbps. Plus it routes all the traffic through Poland ("Plus" is shown as the ISP) 😒
Great in Guatemala
I used ByteSIM on one phone and Airalo on the other. ByteSIM was a bit pricier but the Claro esim worked perfectly. Airalo sold me a “Tikal Mobile” esim. Tikal Mobile is just a reseller. They just buy low priority access from real providers. So the ByteSIM phone had fast access and the Airalo phone had hardly any access.
False advertisement
I purchased the 5G unlimited 10 days package in Croatia. After 1 hour of use I went from 200Mbps to 5 and can no longer work. Support is unresponsive and the issue has persisted for hours.
Unreliable eSIM, rude customer service
Bought an eSIM for Japan and chose the 1GB per day plan. It worked well for the first 2-3 days and then abruptly stopped working. When I checked the app I still had data left for that day so I reached out to customer service to see if they could tell me what was wrong. They were rude and difficult to deal with. They basically told me that the remaining data displayed in their app was not accurate and I must have somehow already hit my 1GB for the day (I definitely hadn’t; I had only briefly used maps earlier that day). Went back and forth with them for about 2 hours before requesting a refund. Save yourself the frustration and choose a better eSIM provider

The customer service is good and it’s very simple tbh I bought an eSIM and it didn’t work but when I tried this app I knew I’m only gonna use this for eSIM and it’s very good for people who travel a lot.
Stupid expiration policy and false advertising
Beware you shouldn't buy from these guys if you prefer planning in advance. I bought mine for a trip 3 months from today. Only to find out after the fact that the eSIM expires in 2 months after purchase. Nowhere is this stated on the product page or the order confirmation email. Nor does support offer any potential resolution like re-issuing another eSIM, as the FAQ seems to suggest. Patently false advertising. Buyer beware!! (EDIT: App Store response from ByteSIM was a complete nothingburger. An empty useless response costumed in fake politeness. I guess that's better than their customer support - which was flat out rude, and, most importantly, just as unhelpful. )

Man kann zwar einen Kauf tätigen (den man genauso gut auf der Website hätte erledigen können). Er wird aber nie angezeigt, kann also die eSIM nicht mehr verwalten.

The BITE network towers do no reach my location. Lucky the technicians were very rapid with responding to my request for assistance. The customer service is far superior to Holafly. Bite signal works in Riga but not here in Adazu. I was able to use 85mb of service do to my location. I will give this service another try when I travel to another country

Gave me 3g instead of 5g, completely useless, no refund offered, helpline didn’t speak English, pure scam
Not the expected provider
I used this in Vietnam, rather than Airalo, because the provider was supposed to be Viettel, which has the best coverage in Vietnam. Turns out they are not using Viettel, but some Chinese intermediary and the service is unusable, like 1 bar in the middle of Ho Chi Minh

I have currently been in Japan for a Three months school exchange, and ByteSIM has been an absolute lifesaver for me with its cheap prices, outstanding customer service and easy use. If your going to travel abroad and want fast internet I recommend ByteSim.

Unreasonably cheap travel eSIMs
Got 5Gb for 5 days in Korea and 5Gb for 5 days in Thailand for $12 total. Was suspicious about such prices, but everything worked as you expect. Great deal.
Skip this if travel to Taiwan
If you are planning to travel to Taiwan, skip this one since the speed is very slow. I purchased unlimited data but after a few gigs it just slow down and couldn’t even upload videos.
