Great tool for summarization of YouTubes
I use this tool several times a week. I love the various options for summarizations that it gives..
Very Good
👌👌👌👌
Free tariff with local model
Please add always free mode with local models like Apple Intelligence
Great on iPhone 👉Not working on Mac
The app is FANTASTIC on iPhone. Love the Key Takeawas feature the most. What would bring up the star-rating would be a working app on Mac, where I need it the most. Even after following the steps in the error message popup (prompting a login to YouTube via Safari), it still won't allow summarizing via the Mac app. Otherwise outstanding! =)
link pasting
nice app, but way too many problems with copypasting the link, sharing it from another app, and now with youtube login on safari. too many problems
Fantastic! Intelligent! Lovely!❤️

Good but..
Subscription based.. why not a one time payement?? You have no idea how many customer you are pushing away…
Fantastic app
Enjoy this app, well done to the developer. I’ve been comparing this app to using a workflow i made: export transcript > OpenAI API summarize > Apple Notes and then export as .md file to Obsidian. I think this app is reasonably priced. I don’t use it enough to warrant paying the monthly subscription, but there is a very generous free trier which you can boost with referrals (more apps should do this, great growth strategy). The thing i appreciate most is the developer is clearly passionate about not locking in user data. The export options are perfect (.md, PDFs). Things to improve: 1. If there was a way to automatically export finished transcripts to my iCloud files where my obsidian vault is, that would be chef’s kiss. 2. One thing i found very fun to use, but doesn’t seem to be updated often is the “Popular” tab. Would love to see that updated more and perhaps tailored to my interests. 3. I’d happily pay a flat fee to use the app but bring my own API keys. Then i can choose the latest models and control the output better - currently there’s no way of seeing what model the developer is using. 4. No advanced options to customize the prompt sent to the LLM.
Was ok before others popped up
This was amazing when it first popped up. Now, other apps seem to produce better results.
So far so great
I’m not want to usually read reviews or write them, but this app is pretty amazing when you think about it. I’ve got a ton of YouTube videos about different things I’m learning about, not entertainment, per se, and rather than have to watch a 25 minute video to get all of the teaching I can use this. App and get it down to two or three minutes and almost more importantly I have notes they can refer back to in the future. Good stuff.
Incorrect information
I just bought the app for a month and wanted to test it with a 4-hour video. I asked questions about different parts of the video, like “What does the guy say at 13:30?” And every time, it gave me completely wrong answers. I tried multiple times, and it was always off. Super disappointing.
Like it …
But occasionally it stops short and I’m prompted to report an error or problem to customer support, but it’s unclear how or if that is possible.
What happened?
The reason why I gave only 3 stars is because when I was trying the with the free 10 or 9 summaries I was so pleased and decided to subscribe an annual subscription but I’ve noticed that in the last 3 summaries, you guys stopped providing the complete transcript of a video. So I went ahead and subscribed for one month and cancelled immediately and I’m looking for an app that provides what you did provide before. Your app is worth 5 stars minus 2 because of that. Knowing that you can do a better job and you just decided not to kind of bothers me.
Why should i connect now to safari?
Working fine now
Won’t Transcribe - Says I Need Sign In to YouTube
I am signed into YouTube but every video I have attempted to transcribe, by either pasting a link or using the share function fails and gives me an error message telling me that I have to sign into YouTube when I am already signed into YouTube. ???
Great apps with some limiations
I have been using a Chrome extension to summarize YouTube videos on my laptop, and I have been looking for a similar alternative on my iPhone. This app delivered that. Compared to the YouTube summarizer in the ChatGPT store, this app runs much faster and works with the share sheet. However, it has its limitations. For example, it doesn't work well for videos longer than 30 minutes. My guess is that it's using ChatGPT 3.5, which has a shorter context window. If you ask it to analyze content that appears in the backend of a really long video, this app will not get it right. This is a limitation of the GPT 3.5 model. I wish there were an option for me to use GPT-4. To save costs for the developer. I can also provide my own OpenAI key. Another limitation that I find is that if you need to ask multiple questions about a single video, the current user flow is not the smoothest. Every time you need to analyze a new video, you need to kind of reopen the video, and the app would download the metadata of the video again, which takes a couple of seconds. So, I wish the developer could optimize this user flow for us to ask multiple questions.
Seems to work flawlessly
Good so far
I use it for research and development and quick learning
Easy to use helps you too ask the right questions and to further your research /YouTube videos
Summarizes the wrong video
Instead of summarizing the video I want it seems to just grab some random video and summarize that one
Great app
Great app, it would be even better if you could set the language for summaries.
For videos under 20 minutes
I recommend this app for videos under 20 minutes. API calls are limited. For lectures and audiobooks, the app will skip ahead by hours.
Powerful Tool & Time Saver
This tool is extremely useful on iPhone. I use YouTube for learning and entertainment and there is never enough time for both. This tool has gotten better and better over time. Keep up the good work!
No pierdan su tiempo
Ni siquiera hice la prueba porque cobraban desde el inicio, cuando sale gratis en una extensión de Chrome: YouTube Summary with ChatGPT & Claude

Dissatisfaction with Summarify App
Dear Summarify Support Team, I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with my recent experience using the Summarify app. I had high hopes for this tool as a means of conveniently summarizing lengthy texts, but my encounter with it has left me utterly dissatisfied. To my disbelief, after just one paragraph of summarization, the app abruptly halted and demanded that I upgrade to the pro version in order to access the full functionality. This is not only inconvenient but also misleading. Nowhere during the initial setup or usage was I informed that the free version has such severe limitations. It is absurd that users are lured in with the promise of a helpful summarization tool, only to be held hostage by an unexpected paywall. Moreover, to add insult to injury, the one paragraph I received was riddled with inaccuracies. How can I trust the credibility of a tool that fails to provide accurate and reliable information even in its limited output? It is disheartening to see such a fundamental flaw in an app that claims to enhance productivity and efficiency. I strongly believe that users should be given the opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of the app before deciding to invest in the pro version. The current strategy employed by Summarify feels misleading, deceptive, and ultimately undermines user trust. I implore you to reconsider your approach to the free version and provide a more transparent experience for your users. The provision of a more comprehensive trial or a fairer system of limitations would greatly contribute to restoring confidence in Summarify as a reputable summarization tool. Regrettably, based on my encounter with the app, I cannot in good conscience recommend Summarify to others. I hope that you take my feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to enhance user experience and restore faith in your product.
Developer got back to me
App works great so far. The developer got back to my request about adding a search feature to the whole of the history which will be useful. He said it’s on the next update. Can’t wait!
Underrated
I’m surprised it’s not have more reviews and more users, because it deserves to.
Best YouTube summarizer app!
Summary App Review I’ve searched the web, checked Reddit, and even asked AI Chatbots without any success. Somehow, I’ve stumbled across Summarify and can’t believe how well it works! Also, the subscription price is pretty reasonable compared to other mobile or web apps. I highly recommend trying out the free version, which provides a few free summaries. I was sold on the app after the first two summaries. Key Takeaway - Easy on the eyes UI - Simple to use with multiple summary options - Cost for subscription is excellent value
