This app "Dot and Boxes" by OutoftheBit Ltd. This appl showing ads which are clearly phishing attempts. This happened so many times so reporting, my daughter could have clicked on it. I have attached the screenshot, shouldn't the developer be responsible for filtering out fishing attempts originating from their app and Apple being the platform provider ensure that fishing doesn't originate from apps directly sourced from their platform.
Intriguing, Calm, Simple but Effective Strategy Dots Game - good for temporary mindfulness
Ultimately, this is a simple yet well made and entertaining game with varied sections so you can play how you would like to play, when you’d like to play, with both online and offline features :) its user friendly and nothing extraordinary or ostentatious but works well and I’m a sucker for a sweet, simple mini game to play every now and again.

Not much to expect
It’s literally the pen-and-paper game dots and boxes, but ads play after every match. There are achievements like length of box chains, but they’re really annoying to get as you don’t unlock all smaller chains when you do a larger chain.

The game cheats
So yo need to reas this. You’re playing the game and the AI mode just fills in boxes that cannot be filled in. This makes the game soo frustrating and annoying. It just ruins the entire point. I’m just always looking for cheating and I cannot enjoy the game.

Love this game, but it has one flaw that is very irritating. Sometimes the game decides to take over your turn, thus loosing the game and awarding points to opponent. Otherwise it’s very good. I have actually purchased this game but wished I had tried it first.

Take a look at the tracking this app does on your phone. Deleted as soon as I realised. Update: thanks for your reply. Actively cheats
Frequently will mark two lines at the same time (far apart so it is hard to see) to allow it to close more boxes on a turn than it ought to have had access to close. There comes a point in a well played match where you are choosing which boxes to give away & you’ve double checked every line & you know you’re only giving away two boxes & suddenly half the board is turning to their color. Once in a great while, OK, I overlooked a chance to make boxes. But this happens regularly. No clue why. Not keeping it installed long enough try to find out.
