Radar technology top notch
These folks have had it going on for years. Best technology, best timings and most up to date information with, in my opinion, closest predictions to what actually happens out of all the weather stations around. Danielle breezy, Davis Nolan, Marcus bagwell, Alex and Shelby mac’n’cheese got it going on! Keep up the great work!
Bloated
Way too many alerts. I just got a tornado warning for an area over 3 hours a way. Yes I have my location set correctly. The radar never seems correct.
it’s ok
i have no problem with it EXECPT sometimes it’s not accurate like on the map it’ll say it’s raining but it’s actually not raining, just cloudy. and when there’s a tornado warning sometimes it doesn’t put it on the map till later.
Alert Fatigue
There’s no way to set which events to alert on and which to ignore. Do I want to know about tornado watches and warnings? Absolutely. Do I need to know about each and every lightning strike… after the fact? Makes me just want to turn off notifications or delete the app.
Poor updates, preferred the older version
This has been my “go to” app for years. I don’t have the ability to watch the weather forecast through a TV service or streaming app, but I am always up to speed on the weather with my News 2 weather app. That is, until recently. Not sure what has happened, but I can no longer view the forecast from each new cast on the app. Please bring back the daily videos of the 7 day and extended forecast!
Great app!
I’ve been using this app for many years. I find the radar for precipitation to be fairly accurate. It’s weather people! It changes. These are only forecast mother nature’s gonna do what it’s gonna do. But I think it’s accurate 90% of the time. Not only is a great locally here in Nashville, but I use it when I’m traveling you can look at any city Save cities check up on my folks in Los Angelesand friends in New York, Paris, and New Zealand all from the same app
Misinformation
The app continues to lag and break the constant ads and misinformation that the app gives is not really safe considering the fact most of the future sliders track where your location is and moves the storm straight towards you when in reality it doesn’t I’d rather sit through 1500 ads during the tv broadcast of the weather than this app
Grateful with caveat
Too many warnings about heavy rains outside. Makes me very annoyed that often only 15 minutes apart! Video clips too frequent. Suggestion- use audio to lead with areas/counties affected
Too Many Ads
Used to love this app but the ads make it impossible to use. Switched to another app because of this.
Good but…
Downloaded for an overnight storm. Promptly deleting this morning. The LAST thing I want to hear in the middle of the night (besides weather warnings) is Danielle Breezy’s squawking voice. Put some choices out there, WKRN. I would rather hear a robo-voice; not keen on DB at all.
A MUST-HAVE
This app is wonderful, between the traffic updates in the morning, the little mini weather update videos, and the alerts, there’s not much else you could want. My whole family LOVES the “This is New 2 meteorologist Danielle Breezy, LIGHTNING has been detected for your location!” Having those little alerts pop up out of the blue makes my day, as we are all big Danielle Breezy fans and constantly check the weather anyway. This is an app I keep on my phone all the time, it never gets deleted!
Has been
This app was good not too long ago. Now you have a long add that you have to wait through before going in to the app and if you’re under the gun and need radar you get to wait through a second add. Doesn’t seem smart when the weather is bad and you need to see whats going on now!
Not great
It gives notifications about weather event, but then it just shows a 15s video with no audio, then it cuts to a persons face and restarts. I’d either like a longer video with an explanation or just the radar.
Too Many Notifications
The app has an incredible menu for choosing which notifications you want to receive. I only want Tornado warnings, but those settings don’t work. I get all the notifications for small things like thunderstorm and flash flood watches. Don’t give us the options if they don’t actually work.
Preparenes
Love this app. Always good to know what is coming and have time to get you and your family in a safe place if needed. You can set which alerts you want and turn them off when you don’t. Not sure how alerts can be annoying especially when it could save your life. I recommend it
Great until this last update
This has been my go to weather app in Tennessee for years. So sad to see it completely rendered useless with ads. You open the app you get an ad, you click on any tab you get an ad, the tab doesn’t load and you click it again, you get another ad! Absolutely insane! If I need to check Weather, you can’t make me sit through 1:30 of ads before I can get to my radar.
Convenient but freezes
I like the layout and ease of the app but the radar is always freezing.
Poor alerts
I keep getting rain/ lightning alerts when there is nothing on the radar and not a cloud in the sky. Very frustrating!
This is a very good app
When I use the app I get great quality and accurate weather reports overall this is a great app to have
Ads in emergencies
App used to be great then they sold ad space. Now you have a 10 second delay whenever you load the app and then another 10 second ad runs when u look at the radar. Nothing like being in a serious situation and having to wait for a nonsensical ad to finish before seeing the tornado alerts
A million notifications
I wanted this app to keep me up to date on emergency weather notifications, but I get literally like 30+ notifications for a watch or warning, and often for areas not even close to me, which is dangerous because then I don’t take the warnings as seriously since they don’t always affect me. You need to majorly fix this! It’s dangerous! People might not pay attention to warnings if there’s too many. And idk why it gives dozens of notifications in a row but it’s annoying
Oh for the good ol’ app
WKRN has been my go to channel and weather app for many years but I am considering changing that. The weather app has been declining in both performance and functionality - no radar in the midst of storms for instance - and with this last update it doesn’t even open! 😕

Unreliable and unpredictable
Time and time again I check the weather and see a “15% chance of rain” forecast and then overnight it morphs into “severe thunderstorm. High winds and hail possible”. Stop being wrong.
Bad update
You used to be able to see the last couple of hours on the radar and see how the weather is trending. Now you can only see the present and the prediction. I prefer to see the track of storms as opposed to where they currently are, to me this is useless.
This isn’t it.
This is the first time for severe weather since I installed this app. I’m getting tornado warnings “in your area” that are for cities 50 miles away. Then I open the app and have to watch the video to see where the warning is. Next app….

Stop with Danielle Breezing speaking randomly at night and day. I’m dropping this app.
The interruption whenever you want to send it is wrong! I’m sleeping and you’re telling me about lightning? I know there is lightning it’s loud enough. This is an awful feature!!! Intrusive and not what I want or need in my weather app.
Used to like it
I used to love this app but lately I’ll get notifications that say “there’s a tornado warning in your area” when it’s no where near. I’ve tried and tried to change settings so that I only get alerts for my selected areas. Also, I’m not sure if the app was recently updated but every time I try to load the app the last few days it crashes. Going to be deleting it!!
Used to be pretty good but annoying now
I am so sick and tired of hearing “this is Danielle Breezy with another update”. It’s so annoying I’m about to delete the app. Now the banner notifications say there’s a tornado warning in my area but doesn’t say the county unless I open the app. This does nothing to help me. Other local stations put what county in the notification so we know it’s close to us. I opened the app on this last alert today that is supposedly for my area and it’s over 2 hours away from me. Not helpful at all. I don’t have time to keep opening the app to check

Annoying
The fact that this app gives me notifications for areas of TN that are NO WHERE NEAR ME and says “thunder storm warning in your area” is really frustrating. I just got a notification for west Tn and I’m in middle Tn. I got a tornado warning for west Tn Thursday night and freaked out thinking it was middle Tn. Fix your notifications to only be peoples actual locations and maybe you’ll be better than the weather app that comes on the iPhone.

Great App... Other Than The False Tornado Warnings
Use and love the app, appreciate the quick info (not so much the ads loading in life & death situations) and heads up overall. Unfortunately over the past couple of months I’ve received ‘tornado warning in our area’.. and there’s nada, nilch, zero warnings on my Weatherscope app. Get the tornado warning bug out, nix the adverts in serious situations and it’d be a five star app.
Worthless in a storm
I’m fixing to delete this app it’s worthless. You can’t pull any immediate radar up or video you have to watch three minutes worth of commercials before you can even see anything and if you had a tornado on the other side of the city that three minutes is critical. So be honest you care more about money than you do saving lives. You will be deleted tonight.
Used to work good, now? Not so much.
I used to get sounds for alerts, now all I get is Danielle Breezy informing me of a weather alert even though my settings are for sounds. Trust me, if a tornado is bearing down on me, I don’t want hear Danielle telling me to check my app. I’ve used this for years but am really disappointed as of late. When the last round of storms/tornados came through, I didn’t even get an alert and that’s not acceptable. Thankfully we weren’t affected by the tornadoes, but to not even get a storm alert? Not good.
Why would you make a human voice notification
App works ok maybe great but a standard tone sound for alerts is best. Can’t have this thing talking at me all hours of the day and night. A tone is non intrusive. A sentence of speech is more intrusive. Thank you.
30 second ads before EVERY video now??
WKRN, the way you have suddenly set up a 30 second ad to play right before EVERY video is enough to want to switch apps. This is not responsible advertising positioning. Worst case scenario - What if your viewers are trying to plan for their safety, but they have to wait for a long version ad to play? I’m in marketing, this is a poor practice.
Background color
I liked it better with the green background. The black is hard to see. Other than that it’s a good app and works very good.
